  1. Yep, we will find a way! And we will survive! And we will vape!
  2. My first thought when reading the orginial post was "What about the nicotine in foods?", but since that has already been mentioned, I won't go into that. I agree with with jm that it was probably the smoke she was sensitive to (although with some people I tend to think it's all in their heads, but that's just my opinion of some people - not this lady). Just a bit off topic here, but I'm curious if this lady was one that soaked herself in perfume. So many of the people I was ever around who complained about my smoking or the smell of the smoke on me were ones who wore tremendous amounts of perfume. I am one who is very sensititve to perfume and even get sick by the smell of it if it's too strong. I've always wished I could comment on how offensive their "smell" was to me. Alas, I'm not. But oh! the replies I've thought of.... I did try the patch once. The reaction I had was a big red rash every single place I'd had a patch. Interesting look, to say the least. I have no idea why that happened, but it couldn't have been a reaction to the nicotine.
  3. Good find, Dave. Thanks for sharing it with us. This is the kind of info we need to get out there. Those who are trying to ban ecigs right now need to know that not only are ecigs not harmful to anyone around them, they are better for the ones using them. Maybe "the powers that be" would be more impressed hearing this from a doctor than hearing it from those of us who are so excited about it. Our health and improved lives should be a good example, but some people are not impressed with us "little guys". I'll be sure and pass this around to everyone I can.
  4. Welcome to the forum TrustinHIM! It may just be the charger. Like others have said, they are tricky. I've had problems getting the batteries seated just right, too. I like the idea of a double charger because I keep a lot of batteries on hand and would love to charge more at once. I do have two chargers (one I got with my VP2 and one I got with my Spade), but can only charge one of each kind at a time. I'll have to get a couple of those double chargers. Thanks to everyone here for the links!
  5. I wasn't going to say anything on the forum and have been taking care of this myself, but I feel like I have to say something now. I had issues with my Spade from the moment I got it. My batteries were not lasting for more than an hour and 40 minutes from the first time I used it. I thought it was just me, so I tried everything I could think of. I kept close track of how long I was using it, how much I was vaping, how often, how much I was dripping, etc. I even put up a post to see how much others vaped to check if I was just a very heavy vaper. Then I started comparing the Spade to my regular 510 batteries. I used them side by side, exactly the same number of drops and drags each, and my regular batteries were lasting longer than the ones in the Spade. I even charged the batteries in the charger that I got with my VP2 to make sure it wasn't a bad charger. Still got the same results. And the vaper was even better on the regular batteries. I tried several different attys to see if that was the problem, but even different attys didn't make a difference on the Spade. Chris was kind enough to send me new batteries to see if I just got some bad ones, but they were no better. When I tried them, I was only getting about 45 minutes to just about an hour. At that point I could safely say I liked my regular 510 much better than my Spade, but still felt there was a problem. I contacted Jeso and he kindly agreed to take a look at it. I sent it in and just heard from him last night that he had recieved it and was checking it out, but hadn't found any problems. At that point I felt that it was just me, but I couldn't understand it. I'm having no problems with any of my other units. This morning I got a note from Jeso saying there was a problem with the spring, that it wasn't making good contact and that was draining the battery faster. He fixed it and will be sending it back to me. I am so relieved. I'm only telling about this because it may be the problem with some of your units and I think it would be best for you to contact Jeso. In my opinion Jeso is wonderful and does a great job by his customers. I can not find any fault whatsoever with him and would have to give him a AAA+ in customer service.
  6. Congratulations! I agree with jmhester, this has got to be one of the best stories I've heard in a long time. And it's just perfect that it's almost Christmas. I am so happy for you - on all counts. All of us are here to encourage all of you. I'm sure it will work out. All of it! Do keep us updated and let us know if we can help.
  7. Ain't it great!? If you're like me at all, you'll keep finding things like that - things that you couldn't do before, but can now. Things that smell different and taste different and seem different. It's amazing to me still - after almost 3 months of vaping - how much better things are getting all the time.
  8. Above all, I'm sorry you've been feeling so bad and I am glad you are starting to feel better. Beyond that, we sure have missed your posts and your humor. Take care.
  9. Wow!! That is great news. Congrats! Can't wait to see the review.
  10. Yeah, what Mark said, me too. Reinvesting...slow down...near future... Yep, that's me. But like I said before, if I figure in that part of that was my birthday present and part of it was my Christmas present, then I'll be even soon. That's when it should start adding up in the savings department. Yep, that's it. Ummmmm....yeah....okay...well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  11. I've never counted the drops either. I like the 3 ml bottles - especially to take with me when I'm away from home - and go through one bottle in anywhere from 2 to 3 days. That means anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 ml per day. I just went in and counted the drops it takes to fill a 3ml bottle. I may have lost count a bit, but I came up with 100 drops. So, around 33 drops per ml. Anyone have a better answer?
  12. I can't really answer you dlynne, except to say that I have a car adapter for my 510 passthrough and it works fine. I got mine at Wal-mart, but I can't tell you what the Amp rating is. I didn't pay any attention to that when I got it. But I've had no problems with mine and I've had it for about 2 months now. @GDub - thanks for that link. I've been wanting to ask about those for when I get my VP/PT. It's amazing how whenever I think of a question, someone answers it before I ask. I love this forum!
  13. By your calculations, jm, I'm actually getting a lot less nic than I was. I go through 1 (to almost 2 on a stressful day) ml of juice per day - that equals 3 to 6 Marlboro's. And I smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day before. And not only that, I'm below the 11mg part of the time. I'm cutting it to between 4 and 6 part of the time and very seldom go with a full 11mg any more. And I'm doing great! I could even vape more and still be better than I was on analogs. Nicotine-wise, I mean. Great info, jm. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
  14. I'm so excited for you, dlynne! I hadn't been able to smell coffee for years and I missed it. I remember well the first time smelling it again after switching to vaping. It was shocking and wonderful! After almost 3 months of vaping and just 2 months of being smoke free, my sense of smell still seems to be changing. My sense of taste has changed and things I thought I liked the taste of, I no longer do. Some things taste better. I can taste some of the ejuice, but not all of it. I am getting to where I can sort of taste more of them. It's not a strong taste, but it's there and I can tell the difference between them. So you may well be in for a lot more changes. Congrats on staying away from the analogs.
  15. Well.....I could say I was just testing everyone, or I could say we weren't talking about typos, or I could say that's right what are you talking about?, or I could say I had a headache, or I could say I may need glasses, or I could say @#%^&... Well, at least it wasn't one of those whoppers I mentioned. Good catch Mark.
  16. Although you'd never know it by some of the whooper mistakes I've made on this forum...I am "the grammar and apelling Chief of Police" in my family. Even though my "kids" are between the ages of 27 and 31, they know if they slip up I'll be sure and correct them. You should see some of the eye rolling that goes on. Kids. BUT, you know what? I've caught them doing the same kinds of corrections now, too. They SAY it's because I've been such a bad influence on them, but hey, they learned. Thanks for the info on the spell check. I'd never spotted that before. Except when I tried it just now, it didn't work - said I had to download something, then it came up as "blocked". It all happened too fast to read it all. I may have to do some checking on that. Anyway, thanks for the info.
  17. If I had started with the 510, I would have saved myself a lot of money. I spent just over $100. on my first (knock-off) M401 and cartridges before I even knew anything about ecigs. When I liked vaping with that, I started checking online for somewhere else to get cartridges because the guy I got them from wasn't stocking up enough. That's when I found out more about ecgis, the videos that people had done, and this forum. I checked out Arno's site and he only had the 901's in then, so got one of those. Then the 801. Even though I was doing great with those, I wanted more vapor. When I could finally get the 510, I did. So, I would have saved $250. by getting the 510 first. I really don't mind and don't consider it a waste because it got me into vaping, off analogs, and into a healthier life. The rest of the money I've spent, well...I had to buy extra batteries and attys and plenty of juice. I'm stocked up on juice for awhile and I hope on attys. The VP2 and spade were for the battery life. The VP/PT was....just because.
  18. I've been busy all day and haven't had time to check in here, so I'm a bit late adding to this post, but I just wanted to shout CONGRATS to those of you who are just starting and doing so well. Isn't it amazing how easy it is? I was having a rough time last night because the atty I'd been using for 5 weeks was quitting. A couple I'd been using for a couple of weeks weren't doing so well either. I have a pretty good stock of attys though, so I broke out a new one. Didn't gett much vaper with it. I thought I just got a bad one and tried another. Still not much vaper. I was just about in a panic. But you know what, I did not even once consider digging out the pack of analogs that I know is somewhere in my closet still. I did not want one of those things. I wanted to vape!! I think if I hadn't found one atty that worked, I might have gone running out of the house, through the snow drifts, screaming at the top of my lungs, but I still wouldn't have been tempted with the analogs. Life is good! Of course I need to get in an order for more attys now. Keep up the good work with the vaping. It actually gets even better.
  19. Way to go!! I admire people who can do that. I could never, ever, do anything even remotely close to that. I'm still amazed at myself for jumping into these conversations. I wouldn't do this in person, I'm sure. And not with any kind of crowd around at all. Congrats on spreading the word about ecigs. We'll have to start asking anyone who joins if they're doing it because of you being on the radio. LOL
  20. Wow!!! Thanks for sharing that story, Keenan. Fantastic!! I like Fred, too, and was very disappointed when he dropped out of the race. (and it has nothing to do with the fact that his wife and I share the same name - LOL) I really enjoy listening to him. It's great to know he's as down to earth in person as he appears to be in interviews.
  21. Okay, I need to clarify something here. I really try to proof read my posts better than I did this one. My husband is sitting beside me laughing like crazy because I just saw what I wrote and read it to him. Now, before I go crawl into a very deep hole somewhere, let me say I MEANT to say "as good as everyone says IT IS" and not "I am". Although my husband says I am. I'm sure glad no one can see how bright red my face is right now - I say as I go slinking off to find that hole.
  22. I would have liked to see that!! I tried to get in there and got one word in and then nothing. I couldn't see any new messages and the stupid thing just kept clicking and clicking and clicking. Drove me nuts.
  23. Oh, I'm so sorry you're sick, Keenan. At least you got to go for awhile without being sick. And maybe it would have been worse without vaping. And maybe the vaping will make it go away quicker. No matter what, I sure do hope you feel better soon. On a lighter note, it's great that you can still make me laugh and write such great posts even feeling as poorly as you do. Thanks for that.
  24. @Brian - LOL Me too! Are you as anxious to find out if it's as good as everyone says as I am?
  25. I got my 510 passthrough from Arno, but I can't remember when. About a month ago, I think. I use it every day, but not all the time. I leave it plugged in a lot, but not all the time. I've never had a problem with it at all. Like Keenan, mine gives a nice, smooth, strong, and thick vape. I love it! Oh, and it's consistant. Where the vape starts dropping off with batteries after awhile, that never happens with the passthrough.
