  1. Esmoker, I'm going to hope that someone else will jump in here and answer your question. I didn't mention in that post that I don't have my VP/PT yet. It's on back order. I believe when it's plugged into the computer it's more like the VP2, but I could be wrong about that. It's when it's plugged into the wall that it really kicks it up. I like the idea of that a lot because the vapor production means a lot to me. I would assume when it's used with an adapter in the car, it's back to being more like the VP2. That's okay with me because the vapor production on the VP2 is awesome. The big deal with me is the not having to worry so much about charging batteries. I really liked the idea that the VP/PT could be plugged into the wall so I wasn't stuck only using it at the computer. I could take it to any room I want and use it. So far it sounds like everyone is completely impressed with the VP/PT and I'm going by that. Like I said, I hope someone who actually has one will step up and give you some better advice.
  2. I still don't understand all that battery talk, but if you all find better batteries that will work in any of my pv's, please let me know.
  3. A lot of us have gone through that bad first buy on ecigs, so don't worry about it. I looked at it as an investment in my future. It may not have worked out well as far as the ecig goes, but it got me started on vaping and got me off of analogs and that is worth a lot. I would have saved some money by going straight to the 510 next, but I didn't. I still look at it as an investment because after trying several models I now know exactly what works the best for me. And that's what it's all about. Finding what works for you. And that's what we're here for, to help make a decision and to avoid some of the mistakes we've made. We're here for you and will help you as much as we can. Okay, I might not be a big help, but others here are and every once in awhile I offer some encouragement. Hang in there. It really does get better. And better.
  4. The fact that VP/PT can also be plugged into the wall is what sold me on it. That way I'm not stuck using it just at the computer. Plus, with an adapter, I can take it on the road with me, too. Sounds wonderful to me.
  5. Oh Keenan!!! I love that idea!! Do it. I was going to say invent an ecig that looks like a gun to put it on, but then I had this imagine of all these people putting what looks like a gun into their mouths and pulling the trigger...wasn't a real pleasant imagine, so maybe not.
  6. I'm sure willing to give it a try. I have 10 attys. I wonder if a person dripped in each one they'd get the same thing all day long? You could re-drip on each one as you finished it and let it set out until you finished the last atty, then start over with the first one.
  7. Congratulations!! That's all it takes - finding the right unit for you. I'm glad it seems to be working out for you. It's always good to know there's another happy vaper out there.
  8. Brian, I'm pretty sure they said the 901 tip, not the 801, will fit the 510. I sure hope so anyway, cause that's what I'm ordering. They said they fit snugger than the 510's do and that's why I want them.
  9. Seriously, Brian? You do a great job! I find your discussion excellent, to the point, and very intelligent. But I know how you feel. I feel the same way. Given enough time, I know that I can write very well, but I don't always have the time as these discussion go quite quickly. I don't always get things said exactly the way I want them said. Then I wonder if people will take me wrong and be offended. But I'm learning to not let it bother me so much because everyone here is so understanding and I would usually have time to correct myself. But really, I enjoy reading your posts. And congrats on your accomplishment of reaching 500 posts!!!
  10. @ BMW - When you are typing a post, look just above the box you are typing in. There is a smiley face up there. Click on it and a box will magically appear to off to the right side. It will be full of all the different emoticons available. Click on one of those and it will then magically appear in your post. To close that box and get it out of your way, just click on the smiley face above one more time and...you guessed it, the box will magically disappear.
  11. I just love the way you put things, Keenan! Sometimes I wonder if you are bugging our house because you say so many of the very same things my husband and I say all the time. We talk a lot about how things have changed since we grew up. I don't know maybe it's because we were all born in the same year. Ya think?
  12. Wow!! And I thought I had a lot of lighters. I don't even come close to that. It sounds like some of us have gone from lighter collections to ecig collections. I didn't know all that about Zippos. I can't even tell you how many of them I've thrown away over the years. I don't have any anymore. I started using throw aways. Except I can't seem to throw away ones that still have liquid in them. I have no idea why. Maybe because I paid for them and don't like to waste money?
  13. Same here. My first unit didn't cut it, so I tried a different one. Then another different one. Then I got the 510 and that one made a big difference with me. You'll hear basically the same story over and over on here. Just keep using the one you have until you get your 510. You don't have to rely on it completely, but it will keep you in the vaping mode. Then see what you think about the 510. I doubt it will disappoint you. But...if it's not quite enough for you, there are mods out there, too, that would probably do it. Just keep in touch here, ask questions, and you'll get the answers you need. This isn't an all or nothing thing. It just takes some time, some patience, some trial and error, and before you know it everything will fall into place. If you hang in there, we'll hang in there with you.
  14. That's great news!!! Good for you! Hang in there. Give yourself a chance. Don't worry if it takes awhile. Nobody ever said you HAVE to quit smoking right away. Some of us have - easily - others haven't. It doesn't matter. Take baby steps and soon they'll be giant steps. Keep us updated.
  15. Of course great minds think alike. Why do you think we all get along so well in here? @BMW - I don't know about where you live, but here, you can change your party on your registration so that you can vote in the primary's. That way you have a say about who gets into the party you are registered with. Then, if you want, you can change it back to independent before the general election and then can vote for whoever you want. Just a thought. I'm really enjoying this thread.
  16. Congratulations!! Have a lot of fun playing around with it. And you might feel like you spent too much, but probably didn't. It's good to try different things to see which works best for you. And, if you're anything like most of us, you would have spent the money later anyway. This way you saved on shipping. Good luck and keep us updated on how it's going. We love to hear everyone's stories.
  17. Thanks for the hug, Uma! Such a warm start to such a cold day. Well, it's cold and snowing here. Anyway, I know what you're talking about with the units. Been there, done that. I started with a knock-off of the M401, then got the 901, then the 801, then the 510 and the VP2, then the spade, and now I have the VP/PT on order. You're going to be saving a lot of money by starting where you're talking about starting. One unit I've never had is the Janty, so I can't give any advice there. But...I love my 510. It's just perfect. Well, except for that very short battery life - about 2 hours per battery. Really, that's not a problem at home, but away from home it's a pain. I have a shortbridge 801 and a 510 atty for my VP2. The battery life on it is just awesome! I get at least 8 hours from it and have gotten 10 and 12 hours, too. If you don't mind the size, that's the way to go for sure. I'll have to let you know about the VP/PT when I get it. You sure are on the right track with what you're wanting to get though.
  18. Ditto what Brian said. Great post, Keenan. And what a wonderful attitude and outlook on life. Everyone should follow your example. I always look forward to your posts and want to say thank you for all you do for all of us. Your humor adds a bright spot to my days and I truly appreciate it and you. I wish you and you're wife all the best that life can bring in the coming year. I wish for you that all your wishes come true. You two deserve it.
  19. Welcome to the forum, Uma. Jeff already answered your question, so I won't. Good luck with the vaping.
  20. I absolutely love it!!!! I wish I was clever enough and witty enough to think of those kinds of things. But now I'm very sad. The last funny post of the year. Oh the agony!!! But it was a good one.
  21. It's only a couple of hours away from the New Year (here anyway), so I just wanted to wish all of you a very Happy (vaping) New Year.
  22. I had never heard of the firesafe cigarettes until after I starting vaping. I'd been getting a sick feeling and a lot of headaches for the last couple of months of smoking and after I heard about the firesafe crap and heard about the side effects, I knew that's what had been causing my problem. All those things cleared up the day I quit smoking. Obama wants people to go to school? Interesting. Wonder why that is? My husband works for a place that will pay for you to go to college if it's for something to do with their business. He has wanted to do it for years, but they only reimbursed you later for what you paid. We could never afford it, so he didn't do it. Now there is a college that will accept payments after the class is finished, so he signed up and is going for his Masters. Great, right? Then he finds out they will only pay for so many credit hours a year and it will take longer than he'd planned, but hey, it's free, right? Not quite. He just got his check to send to the school and found out that after just so much money for school, the government decides you have to pay them. The check did not cover the whole cost of $4,000. because they had to take $1,200. out for taxes. Nice, huh? Now he has to take even less classes a year so we don't have the taxes to pay. That, or plan ahead and try to come up with the extra money ourselves. But to find this out, right before Christmas...not such good news.
  23. Yep, that's why I never tried it. Scary.
  24. Fantastic!!! That's just great news.
