  1. When I first installed the Nickel coil and pressed the fire button, the coil glowed red hot. I guess it took the mod a second or two to figure out that it was an Ni200 coil. Then it went into TC mode. Maybe the same thing is happening with your Nautilus coils and causing them to pop. Try installing a fresh one and this time, try a short press and release on the fire button. Do it a couple of times and maybe it will recognize the Nickel coil and go into TC mode without popping your new coils.
  2. Today's mail brought my Kanger Subtank Mini & bell cap and a spool of Ni200, so I wasted no time getting started. I made a 12 wrap 2.5mm 28g coil that metered at .12Ω and installed it into the RBA head of the Subtank Mini. The Invader Mini immediately went into temperature control mode and after a couple of settings adjustments, I was vaping. Everything is working as advertised and I couldn't be more pleased with my new setup.
  3. I'm pretty sure that it will, and since the resistance on nickel wire is next to nothing, it won't take very much voltage at all to achieve your desired wattage. That's all conjecture, however, because I haven't actually tried it myself yet.
  4. It is pretty hefty, but like you, I think that makes it feel more substantial than a lot of mods. And yes, the rubber casing does feel pretty good in the hand. I'm using one of the new Efest 2800mAh 35A/80A IMR batteries in mine. After vaping all day at work and some at home this evening, the battery still had 3.7V left in it, although I'm only vaping at 15W with my eGo One tank (1Ω coil head).
  5. @cany - Sorry I was out of pocket for your question earlier. Glad to hear you got the answers you were looking for at your local shop. How do you like it so far? Mine's still working beautifully. @ Bebop - I'm still using an eGo One tank on it while I wait for my Kanger Subtank Mini and bell cap to arrive...should be here tomorrow.
  6. It really is a fantastic device. I've only been using it for a little over a day, but it performs perfectly. Can't wait for the Nickel wire to get here so I can use the TC feature.
  7. 2800mAh should get you through the day with no problems...it does for me with plenty to spare.
  8. A 2mm 5 wrap coil of 32g Ni200 yields the same ~.12Ω.
  9. Yes I am, and according to this online calculator, 10 wraps of 28g Ni200 around a 2.5mm spindle should yield ~.12Ω.
  10. By the way, you can use any juice delivery device you like on this mod...it doesn't have to have a Nickel build in it. But you have to use something with a Nickel build to take advantage of temp control. I'm currently using an Joyetech eGo One tank on mine.
  11. The Kanger Subtank, Subtank Mini, & Subtank Nano all use the same coil heads, and there is a Nickel version of those heads available. Also, Heatvape has a new sub-Ω tank (a top filler) called the Sniper that comes with Kanthal and Nickel coil heads in the package.
  12. Got my Heatvape Invader Mini 50W today (Monday) from Sweet Vapes. I just ordered it Friday night and chose the cheap shipping. Amazing. I love this mod. No problems with it not remembering settings between battery changes. It shuts itself off at around an hour but when you turn it back on, it retains its last settings. I'm going to use it (and only it) over the next few days to see how things go, but at this point, I'm pretty sure this is the best mod I've ever used. It feels really good in my hand and is a pretty hefty mod. I've got some Nickel wire on the way so I'll have to wait on testing the temp control. I ordered a Kanger Subtank Mini and a clear bell cap for it from Sweet Vapes tonight, and I plan on coiling the RBA head with Nickel wire. Kanger Subtank Mini with bell cap.
  13. *EDIT* Sorry...that was the MELO. I get MELO & LEMO mixed up.
  14. Glad to hear it, Tam. I could tell from how quickly my orders arrived that they are on top of their game.
  15. $31.68 shipped. From the product page at Steam Monkey: This is the EC Supply Ceramic Coil building kit. It comes with multiple, durable ceramic rods for wrapping coils and a pair of ceramic tipped tweezers. The rods have silicon grips to help block heat transfer and come in a variety of diameters (listed below). The fact that they're ceramic (as well as the tips of the tweezers) means you can fire your coils ON the rod or pinch your coils with the tweezers while firing and not have to worry about shorting out or welding your coil to your tools! A really great little kit that comes in a nice zippered case with enough room for some other bits and bobs like wick and wire, maybe a small pair of scissors and a screwdriver/allen key. Package Contents: 1 x ceramic tweezer 6 x ceramic rods (diameter sizes: 1.6mm , 2.0mm, 2.4mm, 2.8mm, 3.6mm, 4.0mm) 1 x leather carrying case Looks like this kit could make getting your coils nice and tight very easy.
  16. I ordered one of the new, more powerful Efest 18650 2800mah 35A/80A IMR batteries from Triangle Vape to use in it. With the wire I bought from TEMCo, I'll be wrapping my own nickel coils for my RDAs, but I do plan on buying some of the new Nickel coil heads for my Kanger Subtank soon.
  17. I bought a black Heatvape Invader Mini 50W this evening from Sweet-Vapes for $62.95 shipped. I also ordered a 25' spool of 28g Ni200 wire from TEMCo for $4.85 shipped. Everything should be here by mid-week so once I've had a chance to check it all out, I'll post the results here.
