If you put a little ejuice on the black o-ring on the top of the coil head, it won't grab the chimney when you unscrew the tank to fill it. I use an eGo One tank every day at work and that's how I solved the problem.

I just took mine up to 25 watts and a 600F limit. It's a good bit warmer but not too hot. I'm going to try it there and see how things go, but so far, I'm liking it even more. 600F is about as warm a vape as I'd want.

Also remember that if you're just looking at the screen and not pulling air through your tank by actually vaping in it, your mod is going to provide less power because there is no air being drawn across your coils to cool it down, so it won't need as much power to achieve your temp limit. Look at the screen while you're actually vaping and you'll see higher power levels.

While it may not appear visually smooth with the power level (watts) jumping up and down on the screen, the end result is that it's keeping your temperature at a constant level that you preset, which provides a very consistent vape. Like I stated earlier, with my temp limit set to 500F and my power set at 20 watts, it doesn't take very long for the coil to reach 500F. Then it cuts itself back from 20 watts to between ~8 to ~12 watts (and all points in between) to maintain that 500F coil temp.

No, it doesn't shut off or stutter the power. It actually adjusts the power smoothly to keep things at your preset temperature limit.

Try setting your temp at 500F. Even at 600F, I doubt you'll burn your wick unless you continue to vape long after your wick is completely dry.

Yup. That's your mod's TC circuitry adjusting the power up and down to maintain the temp limit you've set.

Power settings with TC is sort of irrelevant...with my .12Ω coil, I set my power at 20 watts, and when it reaches 500F (within a couple of seconds), the power automatically reduces to between ~8 and ~12 watts to maintain that temperature. Setting the power any higher than that really doesn't matter as it's going to reduce it when it hits the temp limit. The cotton may burn at above 420F when it's new and completely dry, but once it's been exposed to e liquid, it doesn't burn at 500F even when the e liquid wicks out at the end of a tank.

I set mine at 500F because 420-450 was just a little too cool for my liking. Now it's perfect. In fact, I've stopped even looking at any potential new mods that don't have TC.

Not a good way to promote a new product. Surely Kangertech has provided the Subox with a spring-loaded (or adjustable) positive pin in a 510 connection that's deep enough to at least accommodate their own tanks.

That gap between the mod and the tank bothers me.

If you're referring to a chart like this one, that was back when most vapers were using cartridges & atomizers or cartomizers. Things have changed dramatically since many of us started using heavier gauges of wire and switched from NiChrome to Kanthal A-1 (and other resistance or no/low-resistance wire).
