Rixter’s First Impression of the Vision ViVi Nova Rebuildable Clearomizer -OR- Livin’ La ViVi Nova!!! Hello, vapers. I arrived home Wednesday to find a really important package in my mailbox. Yup...the order I placed Saturday afternoon for a Vision ViVi Nova tank system was waiting for me to start reviewing! Getting my online purchases in my hands promptly is a really good way to keep me coming back, so right off the bat, I gotta give esmokeronline.com a gold star for fast processing. They were also speedy about answering my email regarding how to identify the version I received (v2). Good job, guys...I’ll be back! After carefully opening the USPS Small Flat Rate Box and emptying the package onto the table, I noticed something that made me worry slightly...inside the package was one ViVi Nova box (roughly 3-3/8” x 2-3/16” x 7/8”), two business cards from the vendor, and precisely six pieces of packing popcorn. This device box had nothing substantial to keep it from pinballing around inside the package while in transit. Although it arrived unscathed, I think that a little bit better job of securing the product (maybe paper or bubble-wrap) is definitely in order. The Vision ViVi Nova Clearomizer attached to an Innokin Leo Pro I have to say that the ViVi Nova looked very impressive in its form-fitting inner packaging, which also displays the two additional heads. It’s a little bit smaller than the pictures on the website led me to believe, but as you can see from the shots I took of it on an Innokin Leo Pro, it’s not tiny. I did encounter a little problem when I screwed it onto my Leo Pro...it was a little lop-sided, but after making some minor manual adjustments to the bottom plate (using only my fingers), I got it to stand up straight like it’s supposed to. Considering my luck as of late, I would like to think that this was an isolated incident and I received the one and only ViVi Nova ever made that wasn’t perfectly straight. Only time will tell. Since my current favorite delivery system is CCV’s 1.7 ohm Resurrector cartomizer, I immediately decided to forgo using the attached 2.4 ohm or included 2.8 ohm heads, and made a bee-line for the 1.8 ohm head instead. Following the online”break in” instructions, I filled it to the top line (2.8 ml in graduated .35 ml increments), screwed on the top, and gave it a little shake to wet the wicks. Everything buttoned up nicely, and after turning it completely upside-down, rightside-up, and everything in between, I decided that leaking shouldn’t be a problem with this system. The top of the coil head has a seal that presses firmly against the screw-on top when closed. The manner in which everything seals up when the top is snugged down doesn’t appear to leave any place for it to leak from. So far, the Nova seemed to be a solidly built, well-designed piece of vaping gear perfect for home use, but how would it handle moderately heavy vaping and riding around in my baggy cargo-shorts pockets while I worked for 8 hours at a very busy furniture and cabinet shop? There was really only one way to find out if this thing is rugged enough for my tastes, and that was by passing a real-world stress test. So on Thursday morning, I dropped my Nova-topped Leo Pro into my pocket and headed off to work. Throughout the day, I vaped on it for a bit, and then stowed it back in my pocket by just dropping it in and letting it lay how it landed. Don’t get me wrong...I didn’t abuse it, and was somewhat mindful of the gear in my pocket, but I didn’t give it any special treatment either. If it was too fragile to take it, then the worst that could happen is that it would break and I would smell like e-juice ‘til bathtime...no big deal. It didn’t break. It didn’t even leak. In fact, late in the afternoon, I pulled off the drip tip to have a peek inside, and saw maybe half a drop of e-liquid pooled in the corner of the drip tip well. Not bad. This thing rode topsy-turvey all day long without leaking so much as a single drop! No gurgle, either...not one time. I am really very impressed with the solidness of the Nova, and even if I should somehow crack the tubing, threaded replacement tanks made of either metal or plastic are available in several colors for about $3. How does it vape? I’d have to say that concerning the “Big Three” (flavor, throat hit, vapor production), the ViVi Nova scored top marks across the board. I can’t say much about the 2.4 ohm or 2.8 ohm heads (because I never even used them), but the 1.8 ohm head really shined. Of course, F/T/V depends a lot on the e-juice you use, but as a general statement, the Nova definitely performed well in all three categories. I didn’t have a single juice that tasted odd because of this device. PG, VG, and blended sauces that work just fine in my 1.7 ohm Resurrectors worked just as fine in the Nova...and the Nova holds more juice. Things didn’t pop with quite the ferocity of the Resurrectors, but it still popped (think wild tiger vs. zoo tiger). I won’t get into the supposedly simple DIY coil rebuilding, but I don’t really see the need to make your own coils when you can pick up a replacement head in 1.8, 2.4, or 2.8 ohm resistance levels for around $3. Unless you are just an avid DIYer (or an extreme cheapskate), you can order a couple of extra heads for around the price of a Happy Meal. Overall, I’m impressed. I’ve tried quite a few delivery systems, one of which (the Resurrector cartomizer, of course) still resides at the very top of my go-to list, but now it has a little company (it can be lonely at the top). The Vision ViVi Nova Clearomizer get top marks in design, toughness, quality, and performance. The idea that you can easily disassemble the entire device for cleaning and maintenance, plus the fact that you can change elements on the fly, just adds flexibility to the mix and makes this one a real competitor. I hate to give too much away since I will be posting the whole story on it this weekend, but I will say that other than a few minor fit & finish issues, it's performing well. I promise a brutally honest review, which will include how it endures riding shotgun with me during a full day of building custom hardwood furniture at my day job. I'll also be trying out different PG/VG blends, as well as toting it around in my pocket in every conceivable leak-promoting position. From the looks of things, I feel pretty confident that it's gonna do just fine, though.

That's Dekang DK-TAB 24 mg. I'm not exactly sure of the PG/VG mix (neither was the vendor, but he guessed 80/20 PG/VG). It's thin, but it doesn't seem like straight PG thin.

OK. After CAREFUL consideration and some good suggestions (I'm sure I will get around to trying everything I've heard good things about), I decided to order the VISION ViVi NOVA™ 3.5ml Twist-On Replaceable Coil TANK for $13.99 here - http://www.esmokeronline.com/E-Cigarette-Atomizers-by-EsmokerOnline/Vision-Vivi-Nova.html?redirected=1 The kicker for me, besides being everything I specified as a "need", was the fact that the atomizer (510 threads) can be self-rebuilt OR replaced for $2.99, and they come in 1.8 ohms. Looks to have really good seals and top and bottom plates that thread into the THICK tubing and have pressure O-rings where the tank meets the covers. I'm gonna be watching the mailbox for this one, and I'll post a review when I get a chance to put it through it's paces. Please keep the suggestions coming, though...I'm pretty sure I'm not finished trying out stuff that I really don't need. LOL

I think to be on the safe side, I'll go ahead and get the riser. I found the following pic of the Vision and I don't think the sleeve will go around what I've got. Man, you've been a tremendous help. I'm going to place an order pronto! Thanks a million!

In the pictures of the Vision eGo Transparent Clearomizer V2 for 510/eGo, 1.8-2.0 ohm, there appears to be a "sleeve" that surrounds recessed 510 threads, and I was just wondering if that sleeve will impede using the tank without a eGo-510 connector/"riser" (like this one - http://www.smoktek.com/eGo-510-connector--Use-eGo-Mega-atty-and-tank-on-your-mod_p_103.html ). I've never used anything with that type of recessed 510 connection before, so please forgive the noob concerns...just want to make sure I get everything I need to make this happen the first time around. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the quick response. Any recommendations on where to buy either the vision v2 clearomizer or vision stone v2? Also, will I need any sort of adapter?

Does anyone know of a good clear cartomizer or tank system that utilizes wicks instead of filler? It's to be used on a 3.7V Innokin Leo Pro, so it needs to have 510 threads, a single element (preferably ceramic), and be low-resistance (2 ohm or less). I would also like to see one that has metal surrounding the bottom of the tank tubing. Everything I've found so far has the plastic tube surrounding the threaded end piece, which inevitably splits or spins free around the threaded end from screwing them on and off my PV, no matter how careful I am to grip them at the very bottom (over the metal). I love the performance of CCV's Resurrectors, but every clear one I've tried so far ends up breaking free from the threaded metal connector end, and unlike wick-type tanks, the heat that the LR coil produces can and will burn the filler, even if you don't let it run dry...I watched it happen to a couple that were completely full of juice (you can see the black burned section through the saturated filler).

Okay...change that to the Boge Leo 800 mAh PT w/ the much-ballyhooed 1.7 ohm Resurrectors (that FINALLY arrived from CCV...holiday weekend holdup). There's just no comparison to any other cartos I've tried. I got the XLs and Jumbo Resurrectors...both perform beautifully. I like the XLs a little better only because the Jumbos won't fit under the Leo cap. The clear XLs are really nice because you can see the inner workings when filling so you know when it's full, and you can see when to refill BEFORE the dry hit. In my opinion, you haven't tasted your juice until you try some of these.

Like the OP, I recently dewicked one of my attys, but I did not like the resulting performance at all. I do prefer dripping to using cartridges with my Boge Leo PT, and the debridged atty I already had worked decently UNTIL I dewicked it. Once dewicked, however, it was as if the juice I dripped into the coil cup just ran right out the bottom and provided almost no vapor at all, not to mention flooding the thread section of the sealed battery (no biggie...just a pain to clean up when I dripped). It appears, on the Leo standard attys anyway, that the wick needs to be in place to feed the coil properly and hold the juice to prevent it from running out through the bottom of the coil cup. When comparing an unmodified Leo standard atty (bridged and wicked), a debridged-only atty, and a debridged/dewicked atty, the winner hands down was the unmodified atty. It's like it needs the bridge to release the juice into the steel mesh filler surrounding the coil cup, and then the wick to feed the coil from the filler. I tried dripping as few as 3 drops per session all the way up to 6 drops per session, closely watching that I didn't flood the coil cup, but In no scenario did the previously mentioned outcome differ at all...unmodified took the prize again and again.

Nicotek Metro. Not a bad e-cig for an auto-battery starter set if you don't mind recharging after 25-30 minutes of use. I've stepped up considerably since that one. I still use them every so often when I want to blend in, and they still work well when you fill them yourself (the pre-filled cartos' juice flavor leaves a little to be desired). They're easy to refill because they have the white silicone end plug...not the plastic glued-in one. Please read posts #19 and #20 here - - to find out how I'm still using the same cartos that came with that kit MONTHS later. OH, YEAH!!! My wife just reminded me of my VERY first e-cig..the 21st Century Smoke disposable...ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!

Today I boiled some cold tap water (not hot because it sits in a HW tank for a while stewing), used the same method as above, but this time let them air dry in the window sill on the sunny side of the house for a while (it's unseasonably hot today, even for Mississippi). I tried boiling water this time because I ran out of distilled water, and wanted to kill any microbes that may be living in the tap water. Same result...no metallic taste from the tap water flush. Flushed four cartos...all four are now loaded and firing like new. They may be called disposable, but I just can't throw anything away that still works like new. I A/B tested against new blanks, and can't distinguish between the new ones and the flushed ones. PS - I think that the boiling water method may even be a better way to clean the cooked on e-juice off the coils than using room temperature distilled water. They seem to offer up more flavor and maybe a little warmer vapor temperature than my previous method. (Guess what I'll be doing with the rest of my my bag-o-cartos this afternoon.:-) )

How about distilled water flushing them regularly and low temp oven drying every few days or so? Call me lucky, but I've never...let me repeat that...NEVER had a carto "die". I pull 120 ml of room temperature DW through each carto with a giant syringe fitted with an ink pen grip, then use the same syringe to pull air through each carto a few times to suck the DW out, and then low temp. oven dry any moisture out. They come out like brand new...every one so far.

I suggest getting a wall outlet timer from your local hardware store. That way, you can set it to shut off after the allotted charge time of your device.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen anything linking the two either, but it just seemed like pretty odd timing that it started immediately after I began vaping regularly. I don't want to stop vaping for any length of time to see if it goes away because...well, because I LOVE to vape. It saved me from myself as far as the two pack a day thing, and since I have NO willpower, I'm afraid if I stop vaping, the smokes will start callin' my name again. LOL Well, maybe it's nothing, and as I've said, it's not really a problem...not even noticeable to others. I've had nothing else strange happen to me since I started vaping, and if that's all that's GOING to happen, so be it. I can live with that.

By the way, before vaping, I used to smoke two packs of cigarettes daily, so I don't really think that it's the nicotine causing these spasms. I also have made no significant changes to diet, sleep patterns, or caffeine intake. My thoughts are that it might be a mild reaction to something in the e-sauce. I've tried juice from various vendors, including straight PG, VG, and a multitude of PG/VG blends (I heard about PG intolerance), as well as flavored AND unflavored juices with AND without nic (as sort of an experiment), but never just one particular strength or blend for any extended period of time, so I never could isolate if my e-liquid theory was correct. I still vape regularly, though...and still notice that my overall health has increased dramatically since I made the switch.

I, too, suffer (not really SUFFER) from the exact same symptoms that the OP described. This has never happened to me before I started vaping full time, so I decided to do a little research on the subject of eye-twitches. I got the same info about laying off the caffeine, get more rest, take certain supplements that my body might be starting to need more of, etc. Even on other vaping forums, they kept saying, "Nothing to worry about...it's natural to have a little spasm every now and again." (Heard THAT before?) Well, two months later and it's still going on, and I still can't find out why. Same eye...same twitch sensation. Don't get me wrong...I am NOT a hypochondriac. In fact, I can count the number of doctor visits for other than injuries during my adult life (I'm 47 years old) on one hand. I'm pretty active and healthy, so I just couldn't believe that it had nothing at all to do with my new found love of vaping. Also, it's really not even an aggravation, it just "is". I think that the vaping community is more than a little hesitant to bring anything negative up about nicotine and vaping for fear that someone (insert gov't) might step in to investigate health issues and make it harder to get their supplies. Also, vapers (understandably) are SO tired of being tied to smokers in perception, and thereby can't stand to hear anything negative about nicotine (it's really NOT candy, right?) or vaping that even many veteran vapers put the blinders on to negative side-effects (unintentionally, I'm sure). So I'm still out there looking for the answers, and I convinced that it's vape related. I still got nothin', however, and that's why I'm here making my first post on this forum. Thanks in advance for any information that may shed some light on why this is still going on two months later
