Any Long-Time Ex-Smokers That Have Started Vaping?
Rixter replied to Jimbo's topic in New Vapers Forum
My dad, 72, quit smoking cold turkey when he was in his forties. When I turned in my cigs and started vaping, he was curious about it and asked me if they made anything that tasted like cigars but with no nicotine. I told him about some cigar flavored juices I'd heard about that were nic-free, and he now "cigar-puffs" EC Blend's Cuban Gold 0-nic for taste only. -
Hi All! Long Time Lurker.. Hailing From Brooklyn, Ny Here

Howdy. -
@mse12 I second that. At just $24 shipped, it really is one of the best eGo-style VVs I've come across. Its 1300mAh battery lasts a really long time between charges, and it's shorter than most batteries half its capacity. If only it had a USB charge port and I didn't have to use an eGo charger, it would be the perfect battery for me...I hate having to remove my juicers to charge it.

I know it's probably gotta break in, but how many watts have you hit it with so far?

I've tried a lot (a whole lot!!!) of different e-juices, both U.S. and Chinese, and although I've found some really good U.S. juices, I have to say that what I keep going back to is Dekang's DK-TAB or RY4 from China. Every vaper that I've let try either of those e-liquids for the first time says, "Wow...that's really good!" (or something to that effect).

@danpio1217 Did you get the Kanger T3s or the Kanger MT3s?

Does anyone know who's got the best price on the 400mAh spinner?
-
That's perfect! Where can I get one?

Has anyone here ever compared the performance differences between using a single 18650 battery vs using stacked IMR 18350s? I've been contemplating buying a couple of IMR 18350s after hearing that I'll get better performance when using LR dual-coil cartos in my tanks, but I wanted to see if anyone here has done a side-by-side comparison to see if that's actually true. I know that stacking batteries is considered by many to be a risky practice, but I've heard that today's IMRs aren't as apt to explode in my face like batteries of old because their chemistry and design (at least in AWs) prohibits it. Since my mod is vented (Sigelei Zmax), I'm fairly confident that it'll be a safe rig, so that's really not a major concern for me. In fact, the Zmax (and the Vamo, for that matter) is designed for use with either a single 18650 or stacked IMR 18350s.

*UPDATE* VapeLite.info has the black Vision Spinner 1300mAh back in stock and on sale.

Don't panic, dude. There is a solution to your dilemma. I know it sucks to have a messed up finish on a new mod, but J-wraps offers several styles of vinyl mod wraps for just about every PV on the market, including your Vamo. They also do custom wraps from your own pics or logo. Their prices aren't bad either. I have a Sigelei Zmax and its finish is very smooth and slippery, so I'll be ordering the black carbon fiber Zmax wrap for it this weekend. If you haven't already ordered one by then, I plan to post a review of my J-wrap shortly after I get it.

In light of Phil Busardo's recent discovery about some bad T3s out there, I'm looking forward to the buyers of the new MT3s keeping us posted about their performance.

I just saw your post above mine. Great minds and all that.

EC Blend has Kretek Blend: "A smooth warm tobacco with a sweet clove Flavor. 09/23/11 We have made this Flavor taste more like a true clove cigarette, even down to the tongue numbing effect of clove." They have several size, strength, and blend options available, and some of the best prices around. I, like many vapers here at VT, have used them repeatedly and remain a satisfied customer.

I have tried a lot of different versions of RY4, which was originally made by Dekang, and in my opinion, Dekang's RY4 is still the best (of what I've tried). According to old-school RY4 vapers, the recipe has changed since the original product was introduced, but it remains a very popular juice nonetheless. I get mine from here when they have it in stock...it's an 80PG/20VG blend. If you want a comprehensive list of what's out there (with ratings), try this link, this link, or this link (from another forum). Oddly missing from the "Really Big RY4 Roundup" list is Dekang's RY4.

Man, how I wish we were neighbors so I could come over and bring a couple of VV/VP mods with me, have some coffee with you, and vape on your favorite juice using my PVs...carto tanks, too. Not that they're any better than what you use, but they do have some pretty nice convenience features. I could vape on your mods and see what I'm missing, too.

Variable voltage devices open up a whole new world for previously dissatisfied vapers...you're gonna love it.
-
Yup. I used to use the 1.7Ω SmokTech Resurrectors a lot, but once you scorch 'em, they stay scorched. Boges are a lot more forgiving if you run 'em dry...just fill 'em back up and "cigar puff" 'em a couple of times...back in business.

Lately, I've been getting a few bad Boge cartos here and there in my boxes. I think it's just a case of some poor quality control on the production line, but since a good Boge carto is (IMO) the best performing carto available today (and at less than a buck a piece), I don't mind tossing the occasional bad one out every now and again. This may or may not be what you're experiencing, but other than the QC issues I just mentioned, I've not had problems with thicker juices in Boge cartos before...it just takes a little longer to saturate fully.
-
Good choice...not a bad price, either. Looks like you got everything you need to jump right in. The cartos that come with the kit, 2.5Ω, are the perfect resistance level for the Spinner batteries so you can dial it all the way up to 4.8 volts without worrying too much about burning up your cartomizers' heating coils. The atomizer cones you mentioned earlier are just a screw-on cover for your cartomizers that give the device a more finished, sleek look. As a new vaper, I'd suggest watching Phil Busardo's video below on the proper way to fill a cartomizer prior to using your new gear. Welcome to the club.

It might not be the only way to go, but I don't think that anyone would disagree with you that the ProVari is considered by many to be the best quality APV on the market today.
-
900 mAh should last you most of the day even if you vape a lot. Once you find out if vaping works for you, you'll probably want to pick up a second device as a backup or for when your first PV is on the charger. Out of curiosity, where did you order your kit from?
-
How can we find out how many public comments were submitted?
-
Agreed. Both are essentially the same regarding quality and performance. Personally, I do think that the Spinner is a better choice than the Twist only because the voltage markings are easier to see than the ones on the Twist. Also, the Spinner's voltage dial is knurled, which makes it easier to turn than the smooth dial on the Twist.
