  1. I successfully recoiled several of the CL heads before acquiring some of the CLRs...there's a few vids on YouTube on how to do it.
  2. Those looks like disposable CE4s (eGo clearomizers). You can get them online for $3-$4 a piece. If you like that style of tank, I suggest picking up a couple of Kanger T2s...they have replaceable coil heads and hold a little more juice than the CE4 does. You can get them here, and orders over $10 ship free.
  3. Figure out how to post a picture of what you have and someone here can probably figure out exactly what's going on with your gear. Without knowing what you've got, all anyone can do is take a guess.
  4. I've noticed that I get the same nicotine calming effect from sub-ohming 3-6 mg as I do from vaping 15-18 mg through a 1.8Ω clearo on an eGo-type battery. Lower nic level doesn't necessarily translate to lower nic intake...it depends on the device you're using.
  5. Cigarettes smell so awful to me now that even if my PV died, I don't think that a cigarette would even be an option. For me, it would be like running out of Cool-Aid and choosing to drink sewer water.
  6. I've thought of that very question many times since I quit smoking and began vaping (April 8, 2012). I suppose the answer to the "when to stop vaping" question is: whenever maintaining your gear (recharging, refilling, safeguarding, etc.) stops being enjoyable and becomes a hassle to you...when it begins to outweigh the enjoyment you get from the act of vaping, it's probably time for you to quit.
  7. You can get both the Heat Vape Invader Mini Temp Control 50W V2 and the Joyetech Evic VT Express from Vapor Tek USA for $94.98 shipped.
  8. I own two TC mods. The Heatvape Invader Mini 50W is what I take with me to work because it's virtually indestructible, but it does have the pesky little trait of shutting itself off and returning to factory default settings at seemingly random intervals. It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. The Kangxin Mini VF 50w operates in much the same fashion as the Invader Mini (minus the factory default reset quirk), but I don't go out with it much because I'm pretty sure (like most other box mods) that dropping it on a hard surface might kill it. Both are very affordable mods.
  9. If you had to pick just one setup (mod, juicer, tip, type of coil, battery, etc.) as your favorite, what would it be and why? It needs to be something that you own and use regularly. For me, it would be: Heatvape Invader Mini 50W TC mod (versatile and indestructible)eGo ONE clearomizer (small, adjustable draw, and never leaks or gurgles)Rebuildable CLR head with Ni200 coil & cotton wick (temp control and cheap to rebuild)Smok SS & Pyrex drip tip (never gets too hot)Efest IMR18650 2800mAh 35A battery (plenty of power and reliable)Like most serious vapers, I have a lot of vaping gear (understatement) that I really, really like for various reasons, but this would be what I would grab if I had to pick just one.
  10. Back on July 10, 2015, I was the winner of a Kangxin Mini VF 50W mod from GearBest in a random drawing right here on Vapor Talk. It arrived in my mailbox on July 23, 2015, and I really have enjoyed using it ever since. While it doesn't seem to be as rugged as my Heatvape Invader Mini 50W TC mod (nothing is), the Kangxin Mini VF doesn't appear to be plagued with the same circuitry problems as the Invader Mini...it doesn't occasionally reset to factory default settings after shutting itself off, and although it does go to "sleep" after not using it for a while, it only requires a single click of the fire button to re-awaken itself. Everything you expect from a good-quality mod is here, too. The Kangxin Mini VF sports a spring-loaded 510 connection, a USB port to charge your single 18650 battery (not included), responsive fire & control buttons that don't rattle, and...wait for it...an LED flashlight! Well, you might not have expected a flashlight from a good-quality mod, but like it or not, the Mini VF has one, and it works quite well. At under $40, I have to say that GearBest definitely has a winner with the Kangxin Mini VF 50W, and it would be the first one I'd recommend to vapers in search of a good temperature control mod.
  11. The only time my RBAs crackle and pop is when the wick is a little too thin for the coil. Try using a fatter strip of cotton and see if that helps.
  12. I hear ya', Bebop. I dig TC, too. I've been vaping my ADV in an eGo ONE 1.8ml tank with the same wick and coil in it for over a month now (trying to see how long I can actually vape on it before it starts tasting bad) and it still tastes and performs great. I can't even tell you how many times I've completely drained the tank by accident, but I never once got a throat-burning dry hit. Amazing.
  13. These charts were designed to keep you from popping a coil on a cartomizer or drip atomizer back when they were pretty much your only options. With the materials being used at that time, you couldn't put much more than 8 watts to your carto's/atty's coil.
  14. I wouldn't worry about a fluctuation of a couple or three hundredths of an ohm.
  15. For those of us with no patience.
  16. No gurgling or leaking with that configuration?
  17. There are even some who actually use Dekang's DK-TAB as their all-day-vape.
  18. You should review it once you've had a little time with it. I'm looking to get one for my dad if it's a good mouth-to-lung tank.
  19. I got a couple of replacement 510 connection rings in the mail today from 3AVAPE. Took about two weeks to get here...not too bad. I have to say that they sure do make swapping out atties a breeze, and they make a great atty stand, too.
  20. I found a recommended percentage chart for TFA flavorings here. It seems to be pretty comprehensive.
  21. I smoked for 35 years and it took almost two years of being off cigarettes before I started to experience a good sense of smell and taste. It takes a while for some people I guess, but it's well worth the wait!
