I got a battery recently that has protection circuitry that will kill the power completely when I use low resistance juicers. It does it on my Sigelei Zmax and my mech mods, so I know it's the battery. It's a Trustfire TF 18650 3000mAh. Are you using a battery with protection circuitry on the bottom, or are you using IMR batteries (or other)?

Cool picture of me at my part time job

What could be a cooler job than blowin' **** up?!? -
Agreed. PG is known for providing more flavor than VG, and also more throat hit, but lack of visible vapor production. VG is known for its vapor production, but with hits on flavor strength and throat hit. In my opinion, it only takes a little VG in the mix to produce plenty of visible vapor, so I usually go with an 80PG/20VG mix. With that being said, there are some 100% PG juices out there that taste great, have good throat hit, and produce loads of thick vapor...go figure.

There are some really great responses and pictures in this thread, so I figured I'd revive it a little with an update on some of the things that make me happy. I'm starting to worry about the size of my personal collection...this coffee table is pretty long.

...and then, I went to ECBlend and picked up some 30 ml. bottles of DK555 18 mg., Caramel Macchiato 18 mg., and 7-Leaf Blend 24 mg. Also just got 50 ml. of DK-Blend 18 mg. (formerly DK-TAB) the other day from vapelite. -

Just bought a SmokTech RSST RBA and some Janty Elixir PG RY4 16 mg. -
Got a tip for you. Roll your wick around a short piece of paper clip that's about ½" longer than your desired wick length after trimming (if you trim). Leave the paper clip in the wick when you wrap your coil...it'll help hold things in place and help to retain the center flue. It also adds strength to the wick so you can pull your coils a little bit snugger. Using the method above, I made this wick & coil for my AGA-T2 from a 1" x 1½" slice of 400 SS mesh and some dual twisted 32g Kanthal wire. It meters at .7Ω.

This is what I'd take...best vape I've had so far.

Cutest one I own.

Dan, you were the first soul I talked to at VT...glad you made it. Happy Vaperversary!

Thanks, you guys!

I've been thinking about picking up The Vulcan RBA (DID Mini clone). I'm really pleased with everything about my first Genesis-style RBA, an AGA-T2, and I'd like to try The Vulcan out to see how it compares. It's only $15.99, with the option of adding a clear tank for $1.99 extra, and it appears to be solidly constructed. It also shares the same diameter as my eGo batteries. I'd love to hear from anyone with any experience with The Vulcan.

Dude...you have no idea. The difference between my first wick & coil and my second wick & coil was like the difference between a bottle rocket and an A-bomb!

Good point! I use all types of juice delivery devices, but the good ol' reliable Boge cartomizers are still a very cheap and effective way to vape hassle-free. They don't leak unless you over-fill them (just blow the excess out the bottom), and they last me a couple of weeks before the draw starts to tighten up some (YMMV). I buy "bulk" and get 5 boxes of 'em (25 cartos) from SureVapes.com for $23 shipped. You can mix-n-match boxes of low or high resistance, standard or XL, & black or stainless steel. BTW, if you plan on using a cone on your device to cover your carto, avoid the black Boges...the black "finish" is a vinyl wrap, which adds girth and causes the carto to fit too snugly through many cone openings, sealing off too much of your intake air in the process.

There are a lot of RY4 variants on the market today, but they all stem from Dekang's pre-2010 RY4 recipe. Everyone else tries to emulate this version's unique blend of tobacco, caramel, & vanilla (to varying degrees of success), and many are great, but by some accounts, many are not. I've been lucky in that I've never met an RY4 I didn't like. Some to look for are Dekang's RY4, Ginger's RY4, Ikenvape's RY4 PG Gold, Janty Elixir PG RY4, TVR's RY4, & Vapor Talk's Dulcis. I've tried all of these and although they each have their own signature flavor, they all fall squarely in the RY4 "box".

I've found that if you'll vape your tank empty and then fill it with a new flavor, the switch in flavor happens pretty much instantly (unless the first juice is a menthol, which may stick around for a minute). There may be a little of the original juice still in the wick that will flavor the new juice for a second, but it'll be gone pretty fast. BTW...I think you'll do fine making the switch once you find a flavor that you look forward to vaping, and one that satisfies your nicotine cravings. What kinds of e-liquids have you tried?

Wow! (those were my exact words when I saw your collection)

Simple as that. Congratulations.

All I know is that on my meter, 1" of untwisted 32g Kanthal A-1 has ±1.4Ω of resistance, and 1" of twisted Kanthal A-1 has ±1.1Ω of resistance, so apparently, twisting the two wires together doesn't half the resistance. By those measurements, it takes about 1" of wire to make a 4/3 coil on my RBA that meters ±1.1Ω. BTW, I've always heard that Kanthal is primarily to be used with SS wicks, and Nichrome is to be used with silica wicks...not exactly sure why, though.

A 4/3 coil is one where there are 4 wraps on the outside of the coil and 3 on the inside. You can find some pretty good coil-making info "For Mechanical Mods, a 4/3 or even 3/2 wrap is usually nice. The less wraps we have, the LOWER the resistance. For Electronic Mods, a 6/5 wrap or even more, like 8/7, would be better. The more wraps we have, the HIGHER the resistance. Electronic VV Mods don't like LR atties..." - Uma @Uma- I hope you don't mind me quoting you.

It's gonna take a lot of wraps to get to 3Ω using twisted 32g Kanthal, as a 4/3 coil on my RBA is only ±1.1Ω, and a 5/4 coil is only ±1.3Ω. I metered a 1" piece of twisted 32g Kanthal to have roughly 1Ω of resistance, so it's gonna take close to 3" to achieve 3Ω...that's a lot of coils to fit into such a tiny housing. You're gonna need a wire that provides slightly more resistance than 3Ω in a 2" section...that should be plenty to re-coil a Nova atty. A 34g Kanthal A-1 would probably be just about right. Click here for a chart of resistance wire gauges and resistance levels per inch.
