Doesn't matter as long as the wick is saturated at the coil when you start vaping. You won't hurt anything by dripping directly onto the coil.

What brand and model did you get?

  4. From EVcigarettes.com: 3 x Dekang DK-TAB (Dekang Tobacco Blend) E-Liquid (Strength: Med (16mg - 100% PG)) 2 x Dekang DK-TAB (Dekang Tobacco Blend) E-Liquid (Strength: Med (16mg - 50/50 PG/VG)) 1 x Samsung 18650 ICR18650-26F 3.7v 2600mAh Battery I mixed the three 10 ml. bottles of 100% PG & two 10 ml. bottles of 50PG/50VG together to get 50 ml. of 80PG/20VG, since they only offer 100% PG, 100% VG, and 50PG/50VG versions. I opted for 16 mg. because anything stronger is just too stout in a mech mod with an RBA...it's still pretty strong, though. Looks like I'll have to go with 11 mg. for use in the RBAs on the next order. Total: $31.95 shipped using coupon code "RG2R99".
  5. While commonly sold in an 80PG/20VG blend based on vendor requests, Dekang juices are available in 100% PG, 100% VG, and 50/50 blends at evcigarettes.com and a few other places around the web. If I had to vape a natural VG e-juice, I'd have to go DIY so I could manipulate the flavor levels, as I've yet to try an all natural and organic VG liquid that wasn't too bland for me to want to buy more of, but I am open to suggestions...hit me.
  6. I vape several "top shelf" juices from various vendors, but Dekang's DK-Blend (formerly DK-TAB) is still one of my favorite e-liquids. When it's in stock, VapeLite.info has one of the best deals I've found...$10 for five 10 ml. bottles + a flat $3 shipping. If they're out, email them and ask when their next shipment will arrive. MadVapes.com has a comparable deal on 50 ml. bottles, too. If all else fails, evcigarettes.com has Dekang juices at a slightly higher price, but they offer bulk discounts on 5 bottles or more. From their website: Buy your favorite Flavor in Bulk and Save $$$! 10mL $4.95 | 30mL (10mL x 3) $12.96 | 50mL (10mL x 5) $19.95 *Discount is automatically taken off when 3 or more of the same E-Liquid Flavor is added into your shopping cart | See each product description for details You'll probably notice that some flavors of Dekang juices (like DK-Blend/DK-TAB) are often out of stock at many online retailers...that ought to tell you just how popular they really are. Dekang maintains a substantially dominant market share worldwide (90% by some estimates, probably including some that are just re-branded and marked up by mom & pop stores). As a side note, some folks just don't have great confidence in a product unless they pay more for it.

    RSST

I sometimes use tissue to blot up the excess liquid on the deck when I get ready to refill, and I flush and clean the tank, wick, & coil whenever the leftover juice in the tank or wick starts to discolor the fresh juice I fill it with.

    RSST

Leaving the wick and coil installed, I use a blunt tipped syringe to flush my RSSTs tank three times with hot water and once with Everclear, and then let it air dry for half an hour. I pulse dry fire the coil until all the residual juice is gone from the wick and the coil glows. The dry firing turns the black crud on the Kanthal to white ash, which I then lightly flake off with the point of a pocket knife...it falls off very easily, leaving a shiny coil exposed.
  9. Do you have a link or a picture? It sounds interesting.
  10. I vape EC Blend's Caramel Macchiato every morning...it's part of my waking-up ritual, and I prefer an 80PG/20VG, 18 mg. blend. I've never tried any other brand of this particular flavor because this one tasted so good (as a "breakfast" vape) that I never saw any need to search further...it's that good. Use code "10020" for 10% off juice order. Shipping's cheap, too. The following is a shameless plug for Vapor Talk's Store: I know Vapor Talk's Store carries Caramel Macchiato, and we should both probably get some of that, since another VT Juice, Dulcis, has been considered by many vapers worldwide to be the undisputed best RY4, and my last order shipped free.
  11. I haven't used V4L's Vapor Zeus yet, but I do have one of their Dial-A-Volts, which I won on a Vapor For Life contest thread right here on this forum. I can tell you that the auto-switch is by far the most responsive of any auto PV I've ever used. It activates instantly with the slightest draw, but has never fired on its own, like some other autos I've used. Lemme know how the Smilomizers (3.5 ml. soft tip cartos) work out for you...I've been wanting to try one out for a while now, but at $7.50 a piece (and almost as much for shipping), I'm a little hesitant. They do give the device the look of a futuristic cigar, though. V4L's Vapor Zeus with Smileomizer
  12. Google search for "hookah pens". This isn't going to end well.
  13. I was just sitting here vaping (of course), and a simple fact occurred to me. I vape all sorts of stuff...RBAs, DCTs, drip atomizers (901, 306, 510), eGo tanks, etc. It's just something that I've gotten really into lately, sort of like I'm in search of the perfect vape and can't stop trying out the new stuff (I think that many of you reading this might empathize). When I got in from work, I screwed my Vision Spinner 400mAh into it's charger and tossed the two-week-old carto into the trash. I grabbed a fresh Boge 3Ω carto from the box and condom-filled it. I topped it off with a few drops (DK-TAB) on top 'til saturated, drip-tipped it, and waited for the Spinner to charge. About half an hour or so later, I screwed a freshly filled Boge 3Ω carto into a freshly charged Spinner set to 4.8v ('cause that's how I do it), and the resulting vape was nothing short of magical. I mean, everything about this vape was totally perfect...awesome vapor production, great throat hit, and unbelievable taste. And that's when it occurred to me that this simple, poly-filled carto might just be the perfect vape. I mean, everything about it was right, and the draw was fantastic. At that moment, I couldn't think of any device I owned that was as completely satisfying as that Boge carto was. YMMV. Anyway, I'll keep gettin' the new stuff, and I'm confident that there are some really great toys on the horizon, but I have this gut feeling that I'll always have a box (or five) of Boge cartos on hand...for when I need to get grounded.
  14. From EmpireMods.com, I bought a SmokTech SID (Zmax clone) for a Fathers' Day gift, and an AW IMR 18650 2000mah battery for one of my mech mods. With coupon code "Vapetv", total shipped was $58.07. I also picked up another 30 ml. of VT Dulcis. With free shipping and coupon code "ILOVEVAPORTALK", total shipped was $18.87.

    New to RBA's?

With a freshly charged battery (4.1v), that's just over 56 watts & almost 14 amps...no way I'm stickin' that in my piehole.

    New to RBA's?

Dan, there is something to be said for the bottom of that wick tilting out to touch the side wall of the tank (clear only...not metal tanks) just above the tank floor. It definitely helps to keep things wicking all the way to the bottom with just the slightest tilt. You can actually see the e liquid climbing the wick at the surface when your juice gets really low... ...I can, anyway. Works for me.
  17. Nice mod. I've had my eye on one for a while now, and the price was great, too. As far as: It's kinda hard to screw up a threaded tube with no wires or circuitry. I have two Chinese mech mods, and they do exactly what they're supposed to do (and look nice doing it). I'm sure it breathed a little life into that RSST, right?
  18. Make that 10 (I forgot about Ginger's RY4 and Sweet Tarts from The Vapor Room).
  19. Lately, I can't make up my mind. In the car, it's Dekang"s DK Blend (formerly DK-TAB). At work, it's Seven Leaf Blend or Dirty Ashtray, both from EC Blend. At home, I have eight PVs each loaded with different flavors...a pull from this one...a pull from that one...DK-555, Caramel Macchiato, Chocolate Malt, Janty PG RY4, Ikenvape RY4 PG Gold, Dulcis. I know I should narrow it down some, but I like 'em all (in moderation). ...so, eight.
  20. I guess the greatest thing about vaping is how the products are evolving. Just when you think you've seen everything, something "revolutionary" comes along and challenges us all over again. Welcome to VT.
  21. The 306 definitely provides the most aggressive vaping experience of all the drippers I've used. I use the XL Delrin 306 drip tips that most places that sell 306s have, and then you can use your drip shield with 'em, too. As far as getting the original plastic covers off, always screw the atty onto a battery first, and then gently twist the cap off clockwise and discard it in favor of a 306 drip tip (it's really just a shipping protection cap anyway, and don't pull it straight off...you could pull the atty's metal body off of the threads...done it myself) Enjoy your new toys, Tam.

    RSST

I love it. It's every bit as good as my AGA-T2, but with a few nice extras, like an insulated wick hole & spring-loaded hot post capture. It's been performing beautifully.
  23. Good job, Tam. A year without a cigarette pretty much means you got it whipped.
  24. I use a Sigelei Zmax on a daily basis, and it's never let me down. If I had to recommend an APV to a friend, it would definitely be the new telescopic flat-top version. You can use 18650 or 18350 batteries, it's machined from stainless steel, it's Kanger clearomizer friendly, and it's only $89.95 shipped (including charger, 18350 & 18650 batteries, clearomizer, and zippered case).
