  1. This is a method that I just recently started using, and I've had great success with it: I start by wrapping my Kanthal around my wick before inserting the wick into the RBA's top deck. I slide the wick down into the wick hole, and then attach the top of the coil to the positive post. Next I gently pull tension on the bottom lead to get any slack out of the coil, and finish by putting the bottom lead of the coil under the negative screw and snugging it down. This process works best for me because any tension I get when tightening things up is happening at the bottom of the coil, which is where the wick goes through the wick hole, so my wick doesn't move around so much. This process also seems to eliminate hot spots at the top of the coil do to over-tensioning the top lead when attaching it to the positive post. Try it out and see if this doesn't solve the hot spot problems you've probably been scratching your head over.
  2. Here's a link to all the new products available from Youde (UD), maker of the AGA-T. Also, here's a link to Vape Squad's product review page. You'll find some very honest and helpful reviews there.
  3. Well this sucks. Anybody have any stories about tortured kittens? That would cap this day off nicely I think. Isn't it nice of the government to step in and "protect" all the kids who's "parents" are too inept to control what their offspring buy online? As Jason Mattera, spokesman for Young America's Foundation, said (paraphrasing William F. Buckley, Jr.) at the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference, "Hey, jackass, get your government off my freedom!"
  4. I thought about that initially, but after the whole unbearable taste thing and all the trouble I'd had with it and all the juice I had to flush , I figured that throwing it away was just what it deserved. Good riddance. PS - I also didn't like the way that the tank had to slide over gaskets around the base and top deck (like a DCT). I prefer the AGA-T style where the tank is pressed against the base and deck gaskets. I probably wouldn't like the original Cobra either for that very reason.
  5. I have both devices (both are great RBAs) and I can tell you that in a side by side comparison, the Youde AGA-T is the winner...not by much, but there is a noticeable difference. Also, the SmokTech RSST leaks a little juice into the connection area and the AGA-T does not.
  6. From the makers of the AGA-T+... The AGT Titanium Rebuildable Atomizer...just bought one from Empire Mods on their Deal of the Day for $38.13 shipped with coupon code "Vapetv"!
  7. From the makers of the AGA-T+... The AGT Titanium Rebuildable Atomizer...just bought one from Empire Mods on their Deal of the Day for $38.13 shipped with coupon code "Vapetv"!
  8. I wish they made the AGA-T in different styles but with the same guts. I'd buy one for every mech mod I own.
  9. When I took the parts out of the vinegar, all the gaskets were melted/misshapen, so I threw the whole mess in the garbage and decided that a sub-$10 RBA is probably not the wisest purchase I ever made. Live and learn.
  10. I recommend the AGA-T+...never had a single problem setting it up or using it.
  11. There's no insulator in the wick hole, and all the seals & gaskets look fine, so I broke it all the way down and I'm soaking everything in vinegar now. I'll rinse the parts with hot water followed by PGA when I get home from work tomorrow and post the results.
  12. I just got a Cobra RBA clone from FastTech and it performs beautifully, but no matter how much I clean the parts, every juice I run through it has the most horrible plastic/chemical taste I've ever encountered. I've boiled all the metal parts, hot water washed the gaskets & plastic tank, torched the wick, and replaced the coil with my own Kanthal 32g wire, but it's still got an overpowering plastic taste to it. Even after only a single pull, that taste is in my mouth, and not even brushing my teeth and using Listerine gets rid of it! I figure it's gotta be coming from the plastic tank, so has anyone here ever encountered something like this and know how to make it stop? Do you think an overnight soak in vinegar followed by a hot water rinse will kill the plastic taste like it does for a coffee maker? Cobra RBA clone from FastTech
  13. Out of the untold billions of lithium battery powered devices (not just e-cigs) on the planet, I've only heard a couple of stories about one exploding, Between those stories, many people win lotteries or get struck by lightning. That goes to show you how miniscule your odds are of blowing yourself up while using an e-cig.
  14. Here's the link...and it just dropped another $3 or so to $20.45! I also got a pair of Samsung ICR18650s 2600mAh batteries for under $9, so you might wanna look into that as well.
  15. The Cobra RBA clone that I bought to go with it is feels sort of cheap and probably won't hold up forever, but at less than $9 (pre-wicked & coiled), I must say that it performs about as well as my RSST and AGA-T2 RBAs.
  16. The metal tubing is thin, but it works like a charm. The fire button is way better than my SmokTech Natural's button in that it doesn't require as much pressure to operate. So far, I'm liking it a lot.
  17. I'm starting to get confused...did I miss an episode?
  18. I'd love to be able to help you find the right juice for your taste, but I'm afraid that no matter what you find out from others in your quest, no one can decide what you like but you. . Everybody has their favorite vendors and juices, but for every vaper that tries and likes what one vaper recommends, there's another vaper that absolutely can't stand it. Case in point: I like Dekang's RY4, but some here have told me it's so horrible that it'll choke a buzzard off a gut-wagon. Go figure. We all go through this...sooner or later, you'll find what works for you. As far as steeping goes, put your juice bottle in hot water (not boiling) and occasionally take the bottle out to shake it up. Do this 'til the water cools to room temperature, and voilà...you just saved yourself a week or more of steeping. All steeping does is allow the juice ingredients to fully mix together, and hot water accelerates the process. If you're worried about the water ruining the bottle's label, put the bottle in a small zip-lock baggie first.
  19. Even with a fresh coil, my ViVi Nova never provided an abundance of flavor compared to devices I've since tried, but it never leaked. By contrast, every clearomizer I've ever used has leaked sooner or later. I've never had a Boge carto leak on me, and I've also never experienced a leak with my AGA-T2 RBA, which is a flavor beast. My SmokTech RSST, while also a flavor beast, does leak some liquid into the connection area.
  20. VaporGod's Arctic Wolf Menthol E-liquid. It's like laying your tongue on the kitchen counter and hitting it with a hammer!
  21. Here's a great video review from Phil Busardo, and it includes instructions on the Vamo's menu interface (including hidden options):
  22. That's correct; it's one or the other. Personally, I prefer the variable power mode to the variable voltage mode as there's less math involved. Also, your Vamo will automatically make voltage adjustments as the atty/carto/tank's resistance level changes over time with use. The Vamo has its own built-in protection circuitry, so there's no need to use circuitry-protected batteries unless you want backup protection. As far as performance goes, I can tell no difference at all between using circuitry-protected batteries and using IMR batteries.
