My 3.5mm silica wick from Mesh Wizard arrived in today's vape mail, so a little while ago, I rebuilt some KPT & EVOD heads with it. This fatter wick fills the wick slots nicely and provides a smooth draw, while eliminating the need to add a "flavor wick" to prevent leaking & gurgling. With the fatter 3.5mm silica, it only takes a 4/3 wrap* of 32g Kanthal A-1 to make a ±1.8Ω coil, as opposed to a 5/4 wrap with the 2mm silica. I'll post the results after I vape a few tankfulls, but I'm pretty sure I've found a winner. * For anyone who doesn't already know, a 4/3 wrap simply means that your coil will have four loops on the outside and 3 on the inside...it saves on confusion as to how many actual wraps there are to a coil.

I've got some bamboo sun drying, and as soon as it's dry and sufficiently yellowed, I'm going to use it to make a set like the one pictured below:

Here's a simple li'l mahogany block stand I made for the missus today at work. It's designed to hold two standard diameter eGos and a 1300mAh spinner. Simple but effective.

Just found out about Apocalypse Juice's Resurrection, a cinnamon/anise juice that's getting some pretty good web chatter, so I bought 30ml of 12mg 80PG/20VG. Here's a good review about it from Steve K's Vaping World. -
I've heard that if you swallow small amounts of saliva over a long period of time that you will eventually die.

From Indigo Vapor: 30ml The Duke 24mg 80PG/20VG (for the missus). Pssst...these guys make some really good juice! From Empire Mods: 2 x Efest IMR 18490 1100mAh batteries (for use with a Kick in 18650 mechs...couldn't pass on the price...we'll see about the quality) From Mesh Wizard: 10' 3.5mm silica wick (for my EVOD/KPT single-wick experiment) As an added bonus, here's Vapor Rater's review of Indigo Vapor's "The Duke": "This is far from the first review I've written for Indigo's line of gourmet e-liquid, but with the exception of their Captain Ron, the others have all been for sweet, mostly fruity flavors. The Duke is Indigo's take on the classic straight tobacco e-juice and while they have generated quite a bit of buzz around some of their other flavors, particularly the Blue Ice and Captain Ron, The Duke has simply not spawned the same amount of chatter in the various vaping forums, but if you're looking for a big, rich, true tobacco e-liquid, look no further. While the latest trend in tobacco flavors has been leaning heavily towards the sweeter side, with many vendors putting an emphasis on additional components like caramel and vanilla, Indigo is bucking the trend, and going old school with a ridiculously smooth, bold, straightforward tobacco, that shifts the focus back to the leaf and lets the flavor carry the juice from start to finish. The flavor is remarkably true, invoking memories of the way a fresh pack of analogs smelled right as the foil is torn, or the way a fresh cigar smells of pure unadulterated tobacco. Helping to round out the flavor profile is a subtle, deep nuttiness that adds a sense of fullness and body while rounding out the earthy spice and acidity that the tobacco flavor imparts. All said, this is one of the purest, straight tobacco flavors I've had to date, and it's positively loaded with big, robust flavor. Like most tobacco based e-liquid, the sweet spot is quite wide making the juice a great option for those with or without variable voltage devices. I preferred it at an even 10 watts or 5v on a 2.5Ω atomizer which produced a tremendous throat hit, with enormous clouds of big, bold vapor." accuracy of flavor flavor density throat hit vapor production -
If all your mods have eGo cone threads, then you'll need eGo Drip Shield Cones. Here's a link to a good article about how drip shields work: Drip Shields...And How They Work In short, a drip shield, while protecting you from leaks, also acts as a reservoir, which allows you to add more liquid than just 3-4 drops at a time. On an eGo drip shield, the bottom o-ring inside the shield is higher than on regular shields to accommodate the eGo's outer threading. This allows the shield to cover the eGo's cone threading while maintaining a seal just below the leak point of the atty. Empire Mods' eGo Drip Shield Cone - $4.99

I started getting gurgling and leaking into the connection area towards the bottom of the tank, so the coil around 2mm silica without a flavor wick isn't working for me. I'll continue using the 2mm flavor wick on top of the coil until I can get some 3mm silica to experiment with because I never have problems with that configuration. It works equally as well with both KPTs & EVODs.

I still get vaper's tongue after all this time. Sometimes my favorite juices have absolutely zero taste. The only liquids I can taste then are Pluid and EC Blends Nuclear Cinnamon Fireball, both of which taste very strong, even with vaper's tongue.

I saw that, too. Whatever happened to parents putting their foot down about things their children shouldn't be doing? Kids do whatever they want to now and all parents can say is, "We don't like it, but what are we supposed to do about it?" How about taking some responsibility and saying, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" Has anyone seen the movie, "Idiocracy"? If not, you should...that's where this country is heading so you might as well get prepared.

This is from the Avid Vaper HH.357 Long Barrel Hybrid 510 Atomizer product page: Please follow this user guide carefully for optimum performance. 1. Blow excess primer out only in the direction of airflow (in through battery connector terminal and out through drip tip/mouth piece end) Do not rinse or clean out primer. It is needed for proper break in. Primer comsists of 50/50 PG/VG 2. Apply enough liquid ( about 5-7 drops) until a slight gurgle is heard when you take an unpowered draw on the atomizer, if no gurgle is heard add 1-2 more drops 3. Vape some short drags to be sure there is enough liquid and to test different draw speeds. Remember the pump works on vacuum, slow / soft drags are not going to create enough vacuum. 4. If you get a bad taste on first drag, add 1-3 drops try again. 5. A bad taste or light flavor/vaper from a drag means the atomizer is ready for 2-3 more drops, depending on liquid used. 2-3 for all VG. 3-4 for VG PG. 6. Continue to vape and top off with juice until flavor starts to intensify (you will know) atomizer will "hiss" after a drag when its ready to top off, or top off when you get poor flavor. 7. When you feel you "know" your atomizer go ahead and vape hard. Please be aware when your atomizer is running dry, Enjoy!!!

It works beautifully...no leaks anymore. I can vape 'til my KPT is dry now. I'm using one of my re-builds in this KPT right now. I re-built a couple of heads just now using a 5/4 wrap of 32 gauge Kanthal A-1 (1.8Ω) around a 2mm silica wick without a flavor wick to see how that works out. I'll give it a test run tomorrow and if I don't have any leaks with that, I might just go without the flavor wick from now on.

I have been using 2mm silica to wrap my coils onto, and then putting another 2mm "flavor wick" on top. I do this because a single 2mm wick doesn't seem to fill the side wick slots completely and I've been afraid of the excess gap promoting leaks. I think I'm going to try 3mm wick next time, though. That should fill the gap without having to add another piece of wick on top.

When does the new season of Walking Dead start? -
I KNOW I'm under a grand...I just KNOW it!
-
Good. That's where I'll start then. If it's too weak, I can always add another bottle of flavoring.
-
Let me see if I got this right...it's 50% nic juice & 50% flavoring, right?
-
I was thinkin' the same thing! Where in the hell would I hide it? yet...

Actually, that's sort of an out of date pic of the juice cab. I have a few larger bottles these days now that I have some "can't do without" juices.
