  1. Nice work! Love seeing creative custom mods.
  2. Lately i can't seem to get anything other than dry scratchy hits out of my 306's, and they really don't seem to do well with switching flavors. I think most of mine are Bauway Bridgeless. Might be time for some new ones, but i've never had a very good experience with them.
  3. I like using both, carto tanks work much better for me for on the go, more liquid, no leaking, no fiddling, better throat hit. All my visions leak from time to time and don't hold as much liquid so i dont like them for on the go, but the flavor is great so i love using them at work or at home. I'll try adding some padding to the saddle valve and see if that works.
  4. Haha! I hear ya, i know which vid you're talkin about. after awhile it all blends together
  5. So i've been using Smoktek DCT's, but i'd like to try out my boge's in a carto tank b/c i enjoy the flavor outta them a little better. Picked up a jtank and a saddle valve but i'm having problems trying to punch the carto. My carto seems to want to slide around inside of the saddle vale as i twist it, forcing it the needle to the sides of the carto instead of dead center. Anyone else have this problem or a fix for it? My saddle valve is a 1/4 inch, i'm thinking it's too big since the carto slides around inside of it. Should i go back and pick up a smaller size? i was also thinking maybe folding up a paper towel or something and lining the bottom of the saddle valve would help, acting as a cushion and preventing the carto from sliding around. Might try that if no one else has any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
  6. Welcome! I don't belive i've saved much money when compared to analogs either, but the difference is w/ ecigs you get to keep the badass devices you buy. You're not burning it up and throwing it out
  7. Like Kitsune said, when you smoke, you'd take 10-15 drags over the course of a few minutes. With vaping, i prefer 1 or 2 drags every few minutes, but I pretty much vape all day long. I'll go an hour or so without if i'm out running errands or making dinner or whatever, but you get my point. Do whatever you feel comfortable with and like Mike said, just listen to your body and make sure you don't overdo it. If you're getting headaches and feel your heart beating fast, back off for awhile. And also drink lots of water. I don't mind repeating this a million times because to me, it's very important.
  8. I dropped my nic down to 12mg as well recently and i was pleased to find that I noticed almost zero difference in throat hit when compared to my 18mg juice. Once i used up the rest of my old 18mg juice and hang at 12 for awhile i may even try 6. I'd like to go as low as possible without sacrificing throat hit.
  9. Don't have one so i'm not entirely sure, i've used my 306 atty with a drip sheild on it tho w/ no problems. If it's a non-recessed 510 connection it should work.
  10. It definitely happens, i still struggle with being out a bar surrounded by analog smokers. I haven't tried epipemods' epipe sauce line but it gets great reviews on being a muskier stronger tobacco flavor. I'd like to pick some up for just these sort of occasions. My current 'musky strong cigar/tobacco' flavor is DK Tobacco from a local shop here in Ohio called buckeye vapors. They operate mostly out of their storefront but the do have an ecommerce store, although it doesn't have their flavors online. They do ship tho and you just have to write the flavor you want in the comments. So far it works well for me. Give it a shot if you feel inclined. Bottom line tho, you're healthier now than you were smoking only analogs so don't beat yourself up too much for the occasional slip up. Stay the course!
  11. Doug, when you say return to analogs do you mean you bum a smoke here and there or you buy a pack and return to analogs for several days? IMO, having a cig now and then, especially when you're around other smokers and can smell it isn't the end of the world, as long as it's not a regular thing. As long as you're committed to vaping and don't feel tempted to buy a pack. I defnitely went through something similar when i first started, usually when i'd go out to a bar or something and was around other smokers. The smell def. made me want one even tho i knew how gross they taste to me now. My advice is to just pick a more cigar flavored juice, or whatever resembles an analog the best, and chain vape it until you're not around the analogs anymore. Hang tough!
  12. And try a different vendor, none of the vendors i've ever used have been that complicated. Here's a few of my fav's http://www.smoktek.com/ http://www.crystalclearvaping.com/ http://www.cloudsofvapor.com/index.php http://thevaporroom.net/ http://www.theveteranvaper.com http://discountvapers.com/ http://electronicstix.com/
  13. Don't give up so easily! Just starting out is rough b/c there's so many devices and not everything works as advertised. Try out one of the clearomizers Mike suggested above. We all went through plenty of trial & error (mostly error lol) before we settle in on what we like. You may waste some cash in the beginning, but it'll save you money in the end to be a vaper! $100 is only a couple weeks worth of smokes at a pack a day. I know it's frustrating but hang in there. You've got a ton of resources at your disposal at this forum.
  14. I'd definitely go for the V3 stardust, I too have had leaking issues on my V2's but it's not that often and the flavor is just too good and clean to not use them. Just wipe the bottom of the clearo and your battery and you're good to go again. The V3's have seemed to have less problems from what i've read. The leaking is caused by juice getting into the center post some way or another. I'm thinking in my case the mouthpeice doesn't seal tightly enough on the rubber cap, plus i fill them too high.
  15. Yeah the UI is very nice. The screen is so perfect it really makes me wonder why on earth the lavatube and it's variations have the screens that they have. It's been funny to screw on my different cartos and see "oh, that ones actually 2.2ohms and this one is 1.9. THAT's why i've liked it better at 4volts instead of 3.7" All in all i'm very satisfied with the purchase, and it really does perform well. I'm a throat hit kinda guy and this device has yet to leave me wanting. I def. recommend picking one up!
  16. I started w/ the ego-c as well, bottom line is it isn't exactly a hassle free experience. Heed the guys' advice above and you'll be much happier for it. And like Mike said, at least you've got a solid battery that can expose you to all the different devices available. We all strike out a few times before we finally hit that homerun.
  17. If all you're looking for is vapor production, you'd probably be better served just picking up an ego-c twist and all VG juice. Cheaper options, same result. If you've fallen in love with the look of the lavatube (they are pretty slick after all) by all means, pick one up! Personally I don't notice a huge difference in vapor production when I crank up the voltage, to me it's all about the juice. 100% VG or a high percentage VG blend will get you oodles of vapor. As far as the tank it really up to preference, a carto tank or a dripping 306 atty will both get you good vapor. The ego-c tank setup however, always left me wanting.
  18. Nice review by Scott, he's pretty much spot on on everything. Pbusardo just reviewed it as well with similar talking points. Might as well post it below in case any are browsing this topic considering picking one up. Many seem to be complaining about the build quality, but honestly i really don't feel like it's that bad. It's certainly not "good" but it is what it is, a pretty cheap (in quality and in price) VV box mod that houses impressive power for its size. I love the 18650 battery event tho it's so small. My one complaint thus far, would probably be with the 510 connection. There is no drip well, and it's not recessed so ego style cartos (Mega carto, vision clearos) won't work. I bought a 510-ego adapter, but the dang thing got stuck on my vision clearo prompting me to use needle-nose plyers to screw it off. Once unscrewed, i noticed the thread casing that goes around the connection was warped, more oval than circular. I tried bending it back to shape but it didn't work. Pitched it. I'm perfectly happy just using cartos and carto tanks on it and defaulting to my ego-c twist for the visions, but it would be nice if it had an ego style connection, especially with how popular the visions are right now.
  19. I'd really like to try one of these as my V2 Vision's have started leaking terribly. I've checked the positioning of the rubber peice and it tried pushing it down as i've read that helps, to no avail. They work fine for 2 or 3 drags but then start to gurgle, leaving a pool of ejuice in my battery connection. Wipe everything down and it works fine it's just a major PITA and a waste of good juice.
  20. So i finally decided on my first mod. I've been looking for the best low profile, VV device that houses awesome vape time, and i may have found it in the Smoketech 18650 VV Gripper. http://www.cloudsofvapor.com/store/58-cov-mods/1365-vv-gripper.html I got it in the mail earlier today, and so far so good. Hope to post some more in depth thoughts on it after a couple weeks of use, but my initial thoughts on it are that it's everything i was lookiing for: 18650 battery should bring solid vape time. I have yet to swap out my 1st battery It's smaller than it looked in pictures, it's smaller than my cell phone, could def. fit in a shirt pocket. definitely capabe of being a more stealth device, even with a carto tank on it VV from 3-6 volts, i've read the 4 amp advertisement is a complete myth, but it should get close to 3 (doubt i'd ever et that high tho) very easy on the eyes readable screen (unlike the lavatube and it's varieties) Resistance and battery voltage display Nice feel to it in the hand and a nice clicky button Preferred this device to the Ovale V8 which seems to be somewhat similar even tho it's twice the price. I preferred the 18650 battery and i'm not sure if the V8 displays your ohms and voltage. Now, back to vapin
  21. man that thing is tiny! Very stealth indeed. I have to think ego batteries and their various sizes and features will eventually entirely replace mini stick batteries
  22. I think a big part of it is by the time i started smoking analogs, everything was already known about them. They cause cancer, they smell, they're expensive, etc. So... nothing good. Ecigs are so new and revolutionary it takes a lot of research for people to feel comfortable enough with the product to make the switch and stick with it, and they seem so far to be all good.
