  1. I'm in the same boat. I start off the day fairly light, like Mike said at work it's pretty spread out, less than i ever smoked. Then when i get home i eat dinner and after that the thing practically never leaves my mouth lol. All in all tho i don't worry about the nic content, i vape 12mg which is fairly low, and I feel like vapers take relatively quick inhales. I take long mouth drags, but the inhale to exhale time i feel like is quicker than when i smoked, when i would take slow drags and inhale as i dragged. The longer it's in your lungs the more time there is for all the chemicals and nic to be absorbed.
  2. They do last forever, but i love the fresh flavor i get for the first month or so. Seems to gradually deterierate after that. Im sure they'd last me another couple months, but i'd just assume pitch em after a month or so and start up on a new one, especially if i've switched flavors a few times.
  3. They're kind of deceiving, such a big tank but you should really only refill them about 2/3 way full, to the top line etched on the tank or slightly above to avoid leakage. So basically leave a little space for the atty head and it shouldn't leak
  4. These have worked great for me and are slowly replacing my DCT carto tanks. Much less guess-work (is my hole big enough, did i compromise the shape of the carto making removing the tank nearly impossible, should i give it a dry toot to make sure the filler material stays saturated, etc.) Also super fast and easy to fill. They also in my opinion get a fuller, more enjoyable flavor, although i've seen many people have an opposite opinion. I've noticed i get scratchy hits more with the 1.8 ohm and 2.4 ohm heads. For whatever reason, the 2.8 ohm heads work perfectly for me everytime. The only down side is once the juice gets below halfway, you really need to vape with the device parallel to the ground, so that the juice is always resaturating the upper part of the wick. Freakin gravity No leaking issues ever for me. I've seemed to get at least 3 or 4 weeks out of a head, although i don't vape 1 device constantly, i switch on and off. For the price and performance, IMO you really can't go wrong with one of these.
  5. As the subject suggests, anyone know where the cheapest place to buy Vivi Nova replacement heads is? Need to stock up. Lookin at you jeff... the ever omniscent
  6. Weird indeed, pbusardo talked about the same issue in his review, that made me feel a little bit better lol. My spacers should get her today so it will be problem solved. I've been using it in 18350 mode w/o issue and loving it so don't feel too bad for me This device is probably my best vape buy of the year, even taking the issue into consideration.
  7. Got it from Smoktek, it has the long spring and chip, what batteries do you have? I have AW IMR and flat top efests. Smoktek said the "recommended batteries" were efest version 2's which have a nipple.
  8. black text on a dark blue background? Vomit, Web design 101!
  9. I feel like Before the Eyewall sounds familiar. I'll google em. Columbus's local music scene has grown a lot recently, so a ton of really good bands have sprung up over that last couple years. Right now I'm in 2 groups, an original and a cover band. Playin out is just so much fun, and the cover band pays suprisingly well to boot. It's a lot harder to get ppl to come hear an original group playing songs they don't know. The guys at the shop said it's probably either a blown fuse or just something needs resoldered, in which case it would only be a $40 fix or so. Hopefully they're right. The thing takes quite a bit of abuse b/c i'm movin it around constantly with 2 practices a week and 3-4 gigs a month.
  10. Heh, dig the musician gear reference. Speaking of which, my Galien Krueger combo amp crapped out on me at band practice on Sunday. Clearly, this hasn't been my week for **** working right. lol
  11. Most places are good about replacing a faulty device, but this scenario is kinda different in my eyes. They did actually at one point offer to replace my VAMO but that was completely missing the point. There's nothing wrong with the device itself, its just designed in a way that excludes many of the most popular battery brands. Instead of buying a bunch of new batteries when i (and most ppl) already own plenty, why not just stock spacers? I don't even want them for free, and i made that clear to them, i just want them to be available, and i want them to remove 'works fine with flat top batteries' from the product page cuz it def. doesnt. Or, if they're gonna be stubborn and not stock the spacers, have some info in there. "This device may not work with X, Y and Z types of batteries and you may need to purchase a spacer to make them work." The customer service rep kept ignoring these 2 issues and repeatedly stuck to "this is why you're using the wrong batteries, so we can't support the ones you're using". My interaction with the customer service rep may have left a bad taste in my mouth, but i'd get over it if they did those 2 seemingly simple things, and that was really all i was trying to tell them. I went ahead and emailed Rob Davis, we'll see if i get a reply.
  12. Agreed, my biggest problem with it is the same problem i have with ALL unregulated ecigs. I hate the declining voltage through the battery life. It's last vape needs to be as good as the first.
  13. Thanks for the help Rixter, I very well may do that. the first problem is that they list on the product page that it runs flat top efests just fine when it doesn't at all, the 2nd problem was that the CS rep kept coming off like the "no, you're wrong and here's why" tone instead of "let us do anything we can to help". The conversation ended with them saying they don't even carry spacers, so they can't send me what they don't have, but at the very least they should make it more clear on the product page what batteries it will work with and which ones have the problem. Then, since AW is such a popular brand, they should suggest a solution to the problem, heaven forbid they link to another vendors site. My main beef is give me everything i need to work the damn thing. Stock some spacers and up the price of the device $1 or 2 i don't care, just give me everything i need to make it work WITHOUT buying 4 new 18650 batteries everytime i decide to get a new device. Bleh, sorry that turned into a bit of a rant lol.
  14. Jeff, i tried stretching the spring a bit, but it didn't seem to help. It has too much play and seems to revert back to it's original state pretty quick. I went ahead and bought a couple spacers from Avid Vaper. Really wish smoktek would take off 'This device works with flat tops just fine' from their product page b/c it clearly doesn't. Whoever tested them obviously didn't actually use the device and just did a "pop the battery in and see if the device turns on" test.
  15. So i purchased the VAMO from smoktek.com (a supplier, not the manufacturer smoktech) I'm very happy with the device itself, however their recommended battery for the device is the efest IMR 18650. I have 2 of those exact batteries, but i've been experiencing the issue of the battery jiggling and turning the device off very often. This leads to not only an extremely annoying constant jiggle with the device, but having to turn it back on just about every time i take a hit and set it down. The same issue happens with the popular brand AW's IMR's. The issue is non-existant in 18350 mode (for the efest batteries, dont have any AW's) I suggested they should include a very cheap, but needed spacer with the device as their recommended battery was causing issues. Raise the price of the device $1 to cover for it, whatever, i don't care. Just give me everything i need to work it as advertised without issues. The customer service rep kept dodging the issue and suggesting that i had the wrong batteries. I've bought from this supplier many times without issue but will not be doing so again as my very first encounter with cusomter service was a huge pain. I'd reccomend you avoid them.
  16. I contacted Smoktek (not smoktech) and they will not send me a spacer. I think that's pretty lame considering the device has issues with AW's and efest IMR's, 2 very popular brands of batteries. I think it's even lamer considering their product page specifically says 'this device runs flat top batteries just fine' when it quite obviously doesn't. I've ordered from Smoktek several times without issue but this is the first customer service experience i've had with them and i'm quite turned off. Rixter, what size spacer do you think i should get from that link you posted?
  17. Got it on Saturday, really liking it so far, but unfortunately the vendor didn't send me the magnetic spacer for 18650 mode, so my battery jiggles around and breaks the connection, turning it off extremely often. Because of that, i've only been using it in 18350 mode and haven't had any problems with that. Love the function and size of it. If only they could make some 18350 that could last me all day! Love how big and clear the screen is, love the wattage mode, love the quick check for battery life and ohms (my previous lavatube knockoff just had the battery meter, not as nice as having the actual voltage left displaying), and love the nice clicky buttons. No matter how you look at it this is one helluva value for $60.
  18. I don't get some of the screen display items. Total? is that just a puff counter? Prepaid? I know it looks like a cell phone but surely we don't have to buy a 'vaping plan' lol. Temperature? Is that the temperature outside of the temperature of your vapor? I'm confused
  19. lmao the giggles are what's making it jiggle jeff!
  20. Gotcha, thanks. I'll contact Smoktek and see if they have any they could send me, if not they're cheap enough i'll pick some of those you pointed out Rixter. Any idea what size i'd need? My 18350 just finished charging so i'm using it in mini mode now and i'm not having that problem at all, so with a spacer i should be good to go. This really is a nice device without the giggle.
  21. So i got my vamo and it's looks great, i'm very happy with it, except for one thing. The spring. It has way too much give and every time i set the device down, i hear the battery giggle, and it breaks the connection turning the device off. Every time i pick it up i have to turn it back on. I tried stretching the spring a little, but that didn't fix it. It happened on both my batteries that are flat top and with a nipple. I also noticed the inside of my battery cap has a dark mark on it. Not sure if it came that way or if my battery is overheating. My stainless lavatube knockoff doesn't have any marks on the inside of the cap after months of use. My lavatube knockoff seems to have a much stronger spring with less give. Wonder if i could swap em. Anyone else have this problem with this device? I got it from Smoktek and it said it was the v2, which is supposed to have a longer spring.
  22. Thanks for the update and pic!! I'm pumped to get mine. I imagine i'll be using it in the mini mode for awhile for starters as well. Glad to hear the fit & finish impressed. With all these features i wasn't sure if anything would suffer in that area. For $60 this thing has to be value of the year!
  23. The PV has a removeable section of the tube. When removed, it's in it's mini mode uses 1 x18350 battery. You can add the tube back to make the PV larger and in that mode it takes either 2x18350's or 1x18650. See the extra pics on the smokteks site with the battery alignments. So basically it's a fullsize and mini lavatube in one, with the added feature of variable wattage. http://www.smoktek.com/VAMO-Variable-Power-VV-APV-Rev2--Gun-Metal_p_537.html
