  1. I've read of a mod called Big Block 454 which I wanted to get just for the coolness...... Still waiting for 426 Max Wedge Cross Ram Induction mod. I can picture it in my head, but no talent for translating to the design table
  2. OMG! Your post gave me pause. I looked up my profile thingy. I've apparently been a member since 24 Oct. 2009. I guess that puts me in the 5 year category too. Funny, I haven't been off tobacco for 2 years yet. (Almost) I guess some of us (me) are really really slow learners. Actually, it took a really long time to find something that actually worked. For me it was an eGo VV twist with some generic mini tanks that came with the starter kit. I've upgraded so many times since 4 May 2013 when I sorta had my last cig. I've had a few in situations where I screwed up with my gear, but not more than a pack over 6 months kinda thing. Less than that really. Vaping 5 years is really a milestone and congratulations for that. "Vaping. An alternative I can live with" (My commercial line for sale)
  3. Two Eleaf iSticks. For the princely sum of 2,100,000. Viet Nam Dong. ($92 or $97 depending on which Bank of America communique you believe)
  4. Last week I finally found a B and M vaping store for the first time. I bought two Eleaf iSticks and I paid 2,100,000, including one very small bottle of juice. Oh did I mention I was in Ho Chi Minh City (known as Saigon in my day) and I paid in Viet Dong which according to my bank equals about $92 or translated to my actual bank charge $97. Why do I seem to lose $5 in the translation? No idea because this is a travel rewards credit card which supposedly doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee. Sheeesh! I will be asking Bank of America this very question directly.
  5. Ahh yes the weight loss thing. I figured out the answer to that. Weigh yourself in kilograms and you will be overjoyed at the small number! I personally weigh 73.
  6. How hard is the tobacco addiction to break? Well after almost 50 years of 2 packs a day full flavour, I've now been almost 2 years just vaping. But to show you the game my addicted mind played on me, I stopped on my 61st birthday, 4 May 2013 at midnight. Then I thought well I'm in Malaysia, and in New York, in my home country, it's only 12 noon yesterday so it's still my birthday in my home country so I can smoke another 12 hours. Then I thought in California it's 3 hours earlier so it's still my birthday in USA. Then I remembered Hawaii...... Sorry for boring all of you who've seen me repeat this story countless times but at least I'm one post closer to the VIP lounge.
  7. Wow! Congratulations! Awesome milestone. I'll celebrate the 2 year mark in 3 months on my milestone birthday of 63. Cuz every birthday without a headstone is a milestone.
  8. I don't think I'll ever do zero. I never could develop a taste for caffeine free coffee. I don't see nicotine as the problem at all. Not even in tobacco products. I know the idiot FDA and equally intelligent congress got big tobacco to admit nicotine is addictive, but I believe after almost 50 years smoking experience other additives (not disclosed) are the REAL culprits. I can forget my vaping products and not go all OCD but when I was smoking I'd really walk a mile for a Camel or whatever through a typhoon or tsunami or whatever. Now when for some reason I can't vape it only feels about the same as if I can't have another coffee. I see no reason to drink decaffeinated coffee and I see no reason to vape zero nicotine.
  9. Here in Malaysia Chinese New Year is a very big deal. Two days public holiday and every Chinese shop owner closed minimum three days. Lots of shop owners go a full fifteen days closed. This is very annoying to me because you can only buy beer in Chinese shops. Malay shops can't sell alcohol. Because most Chinese people balik kampong (go back home) for the holidays there're not many customers for the Malay shops so many of them take advantage and close too. Bottom line.... Chinese New Year is very inconvenient to me. Also, let me add that many shipments stop before Chinese New Year, so even just before, (like now) many things I want to buy are already out of stock and will be for quite some time after Chinese New Year. My prime example being Chang beer which has already been out of stock for days. I like it because it's very reasonably priced and has slightly higher alcohol than the standard 5 % and is quite drinkable. But alas I'll have to wait a few weeks to re supply. Fortunately I have adequate supplies of vaping equipment and liquids to survive. I'm not sure how the distribution would work during the holiday. I get my supplies from distributor in Sarawak and being in Malaysia doesn't require any customs inspection. The distributor has already gone through the customs routine. (probably bribed some official as that's how it works round these parts)
  10. Plymouth indeed rocks, but I like my 64 Imperial by Chrysler better Welcome to VT. I have tons of iClear tanks and they are adequate but not the best because of the long wicks etc. I have so many because they came with so many kits I bought. I lay them down all the time. They do occasionally impart liquid for no apparent reason cuz when I check the O rings they always seem fine. They leak for one or two hits and then stop for days. Go figure. When they do leak, it has no rhyme or reason; laying on their side or upright. Doesn't seem to make a difference.
  11. Welcome! Clove cigars? I never heard of them. Ironically, my last cigarette 4 May 2013 was an Indonesian clove cigarette. I chose it because they last a really long time and I'd saved it for my final smoke. That didn't work out as well as I planned. You see 4 may 2013 was my 61st birthday and my tobacco addicted mind began playing the usual excuse tricks. I began to think hmmm it's midnight here in Malaysia, but it's only noon yesterday in New York and as I'm an American it's still my birthday in my home country. I have 12 more hours to smoke!!!! Then I thought it's only 9 AM in California, so I really can smoke for 15 more hours. Then I remembered Hawaii.............How the tobacco addiction functions in OCD mind! Sheesh! This vaping thing is surly a life saver. It works so well that I actually think I might live without hacking myself to death as I'd resigned myself to do. I really thought life without smoking wasn't worth living. Now vaping is an alternative that I can live with. (That oughta be a commercial). All rights reserved
  12. Good for you and congrats. My story sounds a lot like yours but I started smoking at 12 and went on puffing 11 years longer till 61. Now vaping not smoking for almost 2 years. It sure was the right decision. Welcome to VT.
  13. Welcome! Thanks for the great post. Personally I love your spelling, so practical. I however teach English to a bunch of observant students who love to catch mistakes. I don't like to get caught up so I spell very well Been vaping almost 2 years using mostly MVPs and catch as catch can tanks that come with the mods, after almost 50 years of 2 packs a day Marlboro reds, or Dunhill full flavour and a while on pipes, cigars (Cubans because they're legal here). Speaking of why I enjoyed your post and spelling so much, is because I find Malaysian English to also be very practical. In America, when I would ask for something where they were out of stock, or Malaysia with the same situation: America Me: Pack of Marlboro Reds please. America Shop: Sorry sir, we're out of stock right now. We expect a delivery any time now, or at worst tomorrow. Can you please come back then? Or would you prefer something else to tide you over? America Me: Ok thanks, I'll take a pack of Dunhill reds. America Shop: Sorry, we don't carry that brand, I think it's foreign. Any other choice? America Me: Marlboro Lites? America Shop: Yes, how Many? America Me: 1 please. Malaysia Me: Marlboro Red. Malaysia Shop: Finish already. Malaysia Me: Dunhill Red. Malaysia shop: Finish lah sorry. Malaysia Me: Marlboro Lite. Malaysia shop: 13 ringgit. Malaysia Me: Thanks see you next time. Now I shall explain to the students who call me out that this is an internet post and all sentence structure and punctuation doesn't need to be precise, just understandable. Gud luk 2 u n ur wife!
  14. My Bonny looked into the gas tank The height of its content to see..... I lit up a match to assist her, Oh bring back my Bonny to me. My new Bonny now checks the gas tank Without fear of ceasing to be.... For I no longer have use for matches, Cuz vaping not smoking's for me. My new Bonny's tuberculosis Has caused her to have but one lung... But she too changed smoking for vaping, Her cigs in the trash she has flung. My new Bonny now can breathe better Her coughing a thing of the past..... And we all know that vaping is safer, My Bonny has a future at last.
  15. We three kings of Orient are Vaping on an electronic cigar It overloaded And exploded..... Now we're on yonder star. Happy holiday season to all from beautiful downtown Malaysia. "Where aircraft are an endangered species"
  16. The palm trees are still swaying gently in the breezes as my vape slowly wafts upward into the warm air. My ancient Proton Saga starts every day and the only deer here are called kancil which is a mouse deer. Could hardly give you a dent but they are too shy to come close to the road. Please give my love to the snow shovels.
  17. Ahh yes... I must admit I miss my yankee fireplace sometimes.
  18. My MVP VV VW is starting to die. I got it this past April so it's about 8 months old. So yesterday it got sorta stuck is the only way I can think to describe it. The firing light stayed on after I released the button and continued to glow green yet didn't fire the coil. The button did release. Now today after it sat all night it seems to be working again. These MVPs have really been work horses for me often getting over 1000 hits on a charge. I shall truly miss it. Fortunately I have more. (thinking mantra: backups backups backups............)
  19. Palm trees, warm breezes, 29 degrees, (oops 84 f ) cold beer, and French Pipe juice. A very nice day all in all
  20. I recently heard that there's a politician in New York, and I don't even know if it's the city or the state, that wants to ban e cigarettes until there's more info on the safety. This is just hearsay as far as I know, but if it's true, I wonder if said politician ever thought about what America would be like if we waited for everything to be perfectly safe before we tried it. Probably no man on the moon, no victory in WWI and WWII. I sure don't want to live life always worrying if everything is perfectly safe. The evidence for the effects of long term vaping of course aren't in yet, but I for one am quite happy taking the chance because it's the only thing I've ever tried that could keep me off cigarettes. And it's a lot of fun too.
  21. I finally got around to listening to a podcast of a local radio show discussing vaping as a viable smoking cessation method. The doctor interviewed said that just possibly vaping might be better than smoking and the interviewer thought that that was huge. But it seemed like it was mostly the usual we don't have enough info yet to state categorically that it's better. I sure wish some broadcaster somewhere would have some of us enthusiasts on to make the case. I truly believe that vaping has saved my life and improved my health after the better part of two years.
  22. I missed it because of an impatiently waiting sig other for lunch, but...... BFM 89.9, an FM radio station yesterday devoted a segment about vaping. When I get a free minute I'll give it a listen to the podcast on their website and see which way it was slanted and report. www.bfm.my if anyone wants to listen.
  23. Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I mostly use tobacco flavours, so maybe with all those cool flavour options out there it just might replace over snacking. I think I remember someone on here who was using vaping to lose weight and talking about all the flavours helping to avoid cravings for foods. I remember thinking that was cool too.
  24. Welcome! I hope that works for you. It's quite the opposite with me. I never like to mix vices. I never smoked and ate, and a snack never took the place of smoking. I also don't drink and eat. Eating messes with the buzz. Vaping on the other hand, doesn't force you to commit to an entire cigarette, pipe or cigar. Just a couple of tokes, then snack a bit, toke again....... But maybe it it were a totally new hand to mouth activity, it might work. Best of luck.
