I think what jmhester meant was, once you add your drops into the atomizer, and place back your cart/lip piece, you can leave the filler in the cart. This way, when you take a drag, it will act like a straw and draw some juice from the atty up to your lips/mouth, but with the filler still in the cart, the juice from the atomizer will be blocked by the filler. That way you wont suck any of the juice into your mouth. Which can be really nasty. Hope I made sense.

As some of you know, I got a 901 starter kit recently, comes with 5 various flavored pre-filled 'whistle-type' cartridges. At the time of order, I went ahead and got a pack of apple flavored pre-filled (whistle-types as well) carts, I figured they'd be good to use as reusable once they're done with. What I noticed is that the various flavored pre-filled carts that comes with the kit seems to just 'slide' onto the atomizer opposed to the pre-filled apple package which seems to 'snap & click' to fit. I thought it was just one fluke cart but after just recently replacing a 3rd cart from the kit, it just slides in. Thought it was annoying, since the ones that slide in tends to stick to my lip and slide out of the atomizer when I pull it away from taking a drag. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this with just the 901 or is it with other models as well?

Awesome review, wanted to know more of this item. When I heard 'steam-punk' I was expecting gauges and bolts. The colors do seems 'steam-punk'-ish. Thanks for the review!

Man, those things look sleek, like the baby j features, just plug a USB cord into it and it becomes like a passthrough?
-
Haha! No Problemo, keenan. I was wondering the same when I was pulling mine with a paper clip, took some effort to yank out.
-
@Munkus - Yup, most definitely will be ordering from him a lot more! @keenan - I don't mind at all, great hearing about other experience with other e-cigs brands!!

In some cases, yes. But most of the time it becomes loosened up and all over the place. What I did was remove the filler and placed it back in the cart with the taped-thingy end showing, this way it retains it shape. Then I used tweezers to carefully remove the bits off. Sometimes it just totally rips out fillers but so far they were easily removed. I was able to get 4 of the 5 from pre-filled cartridge packages perfectly, ready to be re-used.

Yesterday, I was probably very VERY close to buying analogs, but first and foremost, I have to thank Rob at vaporkings for adding that extra atomizer in his starter kits! Well, first, one of the 2 atomizers in my starter kit died. One of the greatest fears of mine when ordering anything online, getting something DoA or dies like a few days later. I barely used it, probably one or two hits, gave out good vapor and throat hits, but on the third hit, noticed it dead cold, nothing came out. It was a good thing I ordered the starter kits from vaporkings since they included 2 atomizers in they're starter kits, otherwise, i would've been sh*t outta luck and possibly would have bought analogs in frustration! It's been only a week since I gotten it so decided to just requested a warranty replacement from vaporkings, and to my surprise it was shipped today! I didn't expect it that fast... But what sucked about yesterday was, at the same time the atomizer died -- so did my computer. Not a great day, it was just a, "WOW SERIOUSLY!", type of day. So for now using my brother's computer to do my daily internet tasks. Gonna write Rob a nice letter for being very fast with everything, he deserves more business! So just sitting hear vaping on the extra atty from his kit. Realizing, it isn't THAT bad today. I could have been smoking and feeling even more guilty about the whole experience.

I noticed that too, it's like this plastic double tape-thing? I went to remove an empty used up filler and noticed this white plastic adhesive. I'm guessing it's meant to be thrown away. Got mine from vaporkings.

Well, I've only started vaping a few days ago but seemed to found a few things I do. So I figure in this thread to explain my experience so far. So to one noobie to another, this is basically what I do, it's almost a daily ritual for me now. I prime my atomizer by putting 2 drops on the bridge. When using carts, I make sure to top off. This will help keep the atomizer moist and prevent it from giving a harsh burning taste, also helps prevent your atomizer from overheating. Also I top off a cart enough to be moist, not overflow the sucker. Otherwise, prepare to cringe with the taste of juice. (I get some juice on my lips which is a nasty and unpleasant feeling. Sometimes, when I use topped off carts and I take a hit, it varies in flavor and in vapor. At other times, no throat hit but crazy vapor. Just thought that was weird.) When I directly drip, I put in about 4-6 drops, enough for a few minutes of vaping. The trade off is, you finding yourself dripping in more, but the flavor and vapor is a lot more potent, I only have an automatic battery at the moment so there is a certain point I can reach, which feels restricting. Also too much dripping may cause problems to the battery (unless you have a good mod or a manual with an attachment, from what I've read so far). So I try not to drip too much. I found out if I have a harsh throat hit or a burning nasty taste, it's either the cart is running on empty and/or burning the filler and needs to be filled. If I'm direct dripping and have that same feeling, it's most likely time to add more juice. If your juices doesn't seem to taste the same (it tasted more like alcohol to me after awhile). Give your bottle a shake. You also might want to switch juice around so you don't get used to a certain flavor. When I vape, I cover the air-hole on the atomizer, then take my hit, then part way of inhaling, I uncover the hole to allow more air. It produces a lot of favor and has a large throat hit, which I love. But, it can cause problems to the atomizer if your not careful, only once have I seen the battery do the, "blink 10 times" thing, I read it meant that your atomizer is overheating and has cut off so it wants to rest. (Best way I can describe this method is my own personal way of air control...) One thing I found hard was if I had any juice left in the atomizer. I found if you look straight on through the cart end, towards the bridge and roll the atomizer you can see the juice roll around. (Not sure if I can describe it any better then that, sorry! ) When I want to change out juice or carts. I unscrew the atty from the battery, then I take the atty and grab a paper towel (not the easily tear-able kind as the atty bridge tends to grab on to things) and wade it up and stick it in cart end of the atomizer. Then I blow the battery end to push out any excess juice. I find myself doing this after I'm done vaping for the night or want to try another cart/juice. If you find your LED on your battery isn't working (Just happened to me right now after taking a battery out of it's charger), unscrew the battery, blow and suck from the LED end. It loosens it up, works perfectly again. So far this is what I've learned from both personal vaping experience and information I've gathered here! So I can't take any credit. Please feel free to correct me on errors or point out things that might be bad/misinformation. I'd like to hear other peoples experiences as well.

Exclusive Vp Passthrough Preview!
StevenP replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Wow this is just too awesome... Looks like I'll be investing in a VP2 and a VP passthrough as well! -
Geez that looks awesome! If I discovered vaping sooner, I would've had more money to get one!
-
Holy crap, that's just scary! Glad to read he's okay. I just had a flash back of one your reviews, Chris. Of the VP1 version 2, I remember you mentioned it had a protected battery... 3:50 of the review, "Not like it would have blown up on you, you freakin' wussies!" Guess more reason to get a VP for that, "just in case" incidents.
-
Yeah totally love vaping, great thing is i dont have to step out the house out in the cold to have a drag. That is awesome! I found myself switching batteries with my 901, hoping to get my VP soon! Want to see the VP3 and what that might be like...
-
Chris' video is pretty self explanatory, I read (chris mentions it in the video) that using a manual battery (801,901) with the attachment is helpful from having it drip into the battery. The video pretty much explains it, very helpful.
-
Awesome to hear about your guys experience, I've learned to cover the hole and let go like Smokingman said, gives a great hit and a nice amount of vapor. When I feel the atty get even a little warm to the touch I let it rest. But it cools down pretty fast for me to take another hit. Awesome stuff!! Getting used to all this vaping.

It's a good thing I didn't just jump into the first c-cig I seen, which happened to be Blu! From what I hear about Arno, he really connects with his consumer. I'm going to have to order a few atomizers and juices from him.
-
Thanks for the advice Chris, I figure it was a type of air cooling for the atomizer so I was concerned that it might overheat or kill the atty. Thanks Keenan, yeah I heard of Blu, actually actually going to get one but then read (on their site) about how much the charger had a defect and wasn't effectively selling the units at that time I visited the site. They also stated a 5-8 weeks in shipping. I was like, "Uhhh, can't wait that long..."

I've been vaping with my 901 for 1-2 days now, and love it! I had to adjust myself to take slower drags to get the vapor going and to get that throat hit. I discovered there was an air hole on the atomizer that drags in the air and makes a slight whistle sound, so didn't really take notice of it, but due to habit of holding a analog, I covered it up by accident while taking a drag and notice it produced more vapor and hit my throat harder. I was wondering, is it okay to cover this hole with my finger while I take a drag? Will it kill the atty?

Throat Hit With 0Mg Nicotine E-Liquid In Dse901
StevenP replied to Alex5's topic in General Vaping Discussion
If you ever produce a 0mg juice with a sort of throat hit, I'd most definitely buy it! a whole bunch of'em! -
Oh that, sounds like a awesome idea, maybe break it into different blend categories like fruits, menthols, tabacco, random something like that... So that people won't cringe when they receive a bottle of something they might not like.
-
@MunkusBfunky - Will try and update more on the progress but for now enjoying vaping for 2 days now, trying to get used to getting that right amount of throat hit and vapor production. Looks like I'll be needing that 801 VP2 soon, really good feedback and stories on how long lasting and durable it is with pretty good vapor. @Christopher - It was way easier then I thought, I had my doubts, but it all came out like everyone else. @TheSmokingMan - Yup, I'm most defiantly in line to get a 801 with a VP2, I'll buy a 901/801 low bridge atty with it. Read so much about it, have to try that out! My brother's 901 shipped to day so he's anxiously waiting for his. @NeRo9k - That's awesome to hear, one of my fears was the atty not able to last more then 2 weeks or DOA. Glad to hear that some people have been using their atty's for 2 months to a year on the same atty! But just in case, will be ordering some spares soon.
-
...and I'm completely shocked, I mean, seriously SURPRISED on how well it vaped! I should have video taped myself cause my facial expression would've been priceless! It was really close to a cigarette! If anything like a Menthol/Marlboro light to me! The throat hit was totally like a cigarette, even coughed a bit! My brother was also surprised! He isn't a regular smoker, just smoked periodically at clubs or with friends but decided to order a starter kit for himself with 0mg nicotine today! I had doubts that it would even compare to an analog, I was expecting a tingle in my throat if anything but didn't expect it to be this good! Gonna save all the extra cash I saved from not buying cigarettes into getting an 801 with a VP1/VP2 for sure! All I can say now is, just, Wow!

The Superior Mod, Which One Should I Buy?
StevenP replied to fatalis's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'm getting a VP1/2 with a 801 atty for sure!! -
Great to hear, Jonnoh! Just got my kit today and works great! Felt so naked without that pack feeling in my pocket as well!
