  1. my vote goes towards a good vv device, and a solid de-bridged/de-wicked atomizer. you can dial in the juice's "sweet spot" and the vape is second to none on a good atomizer when compared to any carto/clearo imho.
  2. we've helped ALOT of newbies out here. and i personally believe we do so in an easy to understand sort of way.
  3. guess i'll go against the grain and put a vote in for the Provari. i've had mine for months now and love it. i have the mini. it's not vw but i can honestly say it does everything i want it to do and always leaves me satisfied. the warranty and customer service provape offers are second to none (literally). and that alone in my opinion helps justify the cost of the unit. that being said, i don't think you'll find another mod that's built as solid as the Provari or that has the longevity of it, none of these newer mods have been around long enough to say that for sure obviously but while all the old lavatubes are dying or having multitudes of issues people still have their original v1 provari that they bought 2 years ago. just my opinion.
  4. gotcha, so variable power is just another way of saying variable wattage then?
  5. what is this vp I keep hearing about? I knew about vv and vw but vp?
  6. standard boge 2.0ohm carto is the only carto I use. Not a fan of carto tanks. but honestly I only use cartos when I can't drip.
  7. Hello Morandir you may remember me from the other forums u speak of. I don't frequent either anymore. The community here is the best that I have found in the vamping community so I tend to just stick here. Glad u could join us
  8. it's not complicated at all, but, as you pointed out it's not always convenient. and since you've ruled out using standard carto's i don't know what else to do seeing as you only use 100% vg. there are ways to get tank systems to work with 100%vg but it just seems inconvenient to me. hopefully one of the other members has some more insight than me.
  9. it's not so much the PV itself as it is the delivery system. and alot of the delivery systems have problems with 100%vg. the tank/atty systems like the ego-c have problems with it, DCT's have problems with it etc.... have you ever tried direct dripping? honestly that's the best thing for 100% vg imho.
  10. looks like a generic gen1 808 to me. there are better ones out there that i would recommend honestly having never even heard of this company. for a good "cig style" pv these are what i would recommend (all are very reputable vendors with good prices and good products) http://elitevaporworks.com/ss/starter-kits-1.html http://www.vapor4life.com/ http://smokelessimage.com/ http://bloogplanet.com/ there are many others but those are the ones i would recommend the most. v4l uses a weekly email notification sale deal. so just sign up for their newsletter and you get way better prices than what are actually on the website. the others may have some discounts but i don't know what they are as i haven't used any of those vendors in awhile.
  11. i don't bother trying to vape in airports. i see it as a courtesy thing. but that's just my opinion.
  12. they do yes. let me break it down for ya. 901/808. same threading 510/306/eG0. same threading now, that does not mean that all of this will work with eachother. it just means the threading is the same. example, the eGo, although it has 510 threading it also has outside "cone" threading, so all eGo stuff doesn't necessarily work with 510 stuff and vice versa. MOST 901 stuff works with 808 stuff and vice versa. just research what you buy before you buy it so that you KNOW it will work together. the drip shield is kind of a genius thing, the reason being, even though the 901/808/510/etc.... have different threading, the DIAMETER of most of those atty's are the same so the drip shield is "in a sense" universal for all those atty's. it just slides right over them not caring about the threading the atty has.
  13. hahaha. Tam, you need to stop girl. you have more vaping gear than most of us veterans, and you just started. put your CC's away and enjoy what you've got for the next 6 months! lol
  14. yeah, i just honestly don't know of a tank that takes a standard carto. but i don't know that much about tanks so that may be left to more tank experienced members to answer. it's not a question of what thread the tank takes cuz it doesn't care. a tank is a tank. but all the DCT's that i've seen need a carto that has a flange on the bottom of it. without that flange i don't think the tank will seal properly. someone correct me if i'm wrong but yeah i just don't see any way around it other than to just vape the 808 carto's you have as carto's.
  15. the 901's are great. honestly to me they seem the same as a 510 just with different threading, but maybe a touch better on the flavor side.
  16. i don't have a choice in caving or not. they don't take too kindly to vaping in boot camp
  17. i won't be updating my own shopping list in this thread till either december or april. but oh boy, wait until you see all the stuff i get!
  18. i never cared for them personally but others rave about them.
  19. yes sir though to be honest, i'm not sure y op thinks that 808 carto's somehow work better than 510 ones. they're the exact same cartomizer with a different thread pattern. however, i'm not here to argue and i'll happily point them in the direction of what i personally believe is the best 808 vendor/manufacturer out there. if i had to guess i'd say op is having an underlying problem with their vmax. they're not the best quality devices out there. and they do NOT show true working voltage, they actually fire quite a bit higher than what they read. op, v4l may look like they're overpriced, but what they do is if you sign up for their email newsletter on their site, they have a sale at least once a week for anywhere from 25-50%. so in the end they're actually very well priced.
  20. yeah just sounds like you didn't fill those cartomizers quite enough. if it's a 4ml carto, it'll realistically take more like 3.5ml's of juice. i've always figured that 1ml=about 20 drops (give or take). so if there's 3.5ml's you should get about 70 drops. it may take awhile to fill but after your'e done you won't have to top off very often. if the top part of the filler keeps going bone white after you drip some in and wait a few minutes, then the carto is not full. after you get what you think is enough liquid in there let it sit for at least a few minutes to soak all the way in. if the filler isn't fully saturated then the heating coil will "burn" the polyfill and you'll get that burnt taste and that will not go away. filling the carto is the hardest part but after you do it a few times it becomes second nature. just take your time on the initial fill.
  21. Says it fits most any 510 threaded PC in the description Says it fits most any 510 threaded PC in the description
  22. http://www.gotvapes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_214&products_id=1190 only major difference i see is that it's easier to see what voltage your'e at which seems to be the main gripe with the twist.
