  1. I have found mixing and matching liquid flavors helps balance out over powering flavors.
  2. Jolly pretty much answered the questions for you. if the Blu is working for you, go for it. I know its not the favorite, but the only thing that matters is that it is working for you. I know for a fact that you will own more than one model before your journey is over. Just glad you have found a way to quit smoking. we are always happy to answer questions.
  3. Much of the information is personal preference and habits. Many things are trial and error. you will find you will try different techniques along the way. #1 Do I need to go ahead and order a stock of empty cartridges? with vaping there are two options: 1. dripping. can get drip tips that make this easier. the end of the tip is open to allow direct dripping of liquid to the atomizer. If you are going to use carts, its handy to have a few extras. nothing urgent however. #2 How long can I refill the preloaded ones for?(All I will have are the preloaded ones) you can essentially use the carts indefinitely. they will need to be replaced if the edges become too melted (happens occasionally) or if the cart is fitting too loosely. #3 Is it just the wick in the cartridge that goes bad? The wick is actually fibers found in the atomizer. the cart filling is the only thing that needs to be changed or cleaned in the cart. #4 has anyone tried to find a suitable wick substitute for repacking cartridges? Personally I prefer the blue foam found at strictly ejuice. their site even has a diagram and instructions for using the blue foam. I have been through many, many types of filler and the blue foam has worked best for me. https://strictlyejui...dppdvcfn5ma7mo4 Many members prefer dripping and do not use cartridges/filler, others use cartomizers (atomizer/cartridge combination)--I use combination of carts and dripping. This is one of those areas you will have to try for yourself to see what works best for you. #5 Is there any need to have the 2 eGo's or is it just a convenience thing? you never know when a battery will decide to stop working. keeping the extra battery handy will save you the aggravation of being stuck with nothing to vape with. I love backups and then backups for my backups. the technology has improved greatly and the products are more reliable, but you never know when parts will stop working. #6 How many drops on average does it take to get the equivalent of an analog (avg. being 5 minutes) sorry no good answer for this one. I don't use my ego like a cigarette--I take a drag whenever the mood strikes me (frequently). my ego is rarely out of reach. #7 Is there any other "must have" equipment? If you spend sometime on the forum, there is always something new and cool. I say again, backups are good to have around. sounds like you have enough to get you started and well under way. #8 Is there any thing you can think of that I need to know, remember, think about, plan for, or avoid? There is a learning curve with learning to vape. be patient. Its not a cigarette--long, slow, gentle drags work best for throat hit and vapor production. You will discover soon enough how much better vaping is than smoking. I hope the information helps. as you look around the forum you will find tons of information and how to videos. Happy soon to be vaping Jolly beat me to it.
  4. no help with Djarum Black type E Liquid. Not a flavor I am familiar with. The trick to DIY is start with small amounts. adding flavor a bit at a time--combining flavors leads to some great mixes and some not so great mixes. Just need patience. freedomsmokeusa is a great supplier--I really love flavour art flavoring. If you dabble with the tobacco flavors, be very careful, they are very strong. a very little goes a long way. I usually add a bit of tobacco flavoring to my mixes for background flavor. Merry mixing !!!
  5. Welcome back !!! Very nice Mod. Looks like something my dad would make. Tinkering Dads come up with some interesting stuff. Very glad he loves vaping.
  6. I agree completely with Mcquinn. If you really want a cigarette, have one. it's kinda hard to feel like the odd man out sometimes. smoking is not just the physical, its the psychological that is hardest. Let things happen naturally, and vaping will completely take over. if you get too stressed over smoking the anxiety will make it much harder to quit in the long run. Just relax and enjoy. Mcquinn---Don't do it !!! I made that mistake and I really thought I was going to be sick and I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth--it was awful !!
  7. Never to old to go back to school, just much harder when you have kids under foot !!! Don't give on mixing yet---but school comes first
  8. You'll have to let me know if it works........
  9. Congrats !!! Mark really does create amazing works of art !!!!
  10. The subject has come up before and it seems that it resolved over time. whether is was related to quitting smoking (lots and lots of chemical changes) or vaping (new chemical) was never fully determined. when we quit smoking we also change alot of our daily habits or eating. The chemical is tobacco/cigarettes cause body wide vessel constriction, including the muscles. The increased blood flow could be causing some of the problem, could have been covering underlying issues........ How long have you been vaping??
  11. 1. How often will I have to actually drip onto my atty. I know I need to when I get a slightly burnt smell and less vapor production, and I know that 3 is what most refer to as the perfect number. I am just thinking that if I'm direct dripping and producing twice the ammount of vapor I produce on my current unit won't I burn through juice alot more quickly? Going through 3 drips of juice every 15 minutes just seems like it is going to make me burn through the stuff where as 15 drops in a carto will almost get me through the day. Dripping does burn through juice faster. but the hit is more consistent and the flavor is a bit better with dripping. This will be one of those things you will have to play with to really know what works for you. how frequently you need to drip, really depends on how often you are vaping and the length of the draw. 2. If I am dripping on one certain flavor of juice and I want switch over to something else is there anything special I need to do to my atty??? If I am craving a few solid rips of my bobas I want it to taste like bobas, not blueberry cheesecake bobas. Should I clean the atty out when switching between juices and if so will over cleaning my atty kill it faster? some people have designated atty's for different flavors. For me, I use the corner of a paper towel or kleenex, twist and push into the open end of the atty. let it sit for 10-15 minutes to remove any excess liquid. reprime the atty with 3 drops and vape. 3. I have watched plenty of different videos on cleaning atomizers and some say to do a dry burn after cleaning, others claim it kills your atomizer faster. What's up with this? I want to clean my atomizer efficiently so I get as much life out of it as I can and not risk blowing through atomizers like crazy. Also I have heard I should clean it once a day, once every 2 days, once a week. What is your prefered method and time span to give my atomizer the most life I can give it. I gave up boiling etc. the only thing I use the the papertowel/kleenex to remove any excess liquid. knock on wood, I have had very little atty trouble. my atty's last 1-2 months. I have a few that are 8 months old. I do rotate atty's every week or so or for different flavors. Make sure you let the atty cool down if you are vaping heavily or use two units and rotate between them. I think one of the many atty problems is overheating and staying over heated. Don't let the atty get dry--over heats and burns out. Hope that helped, if not, just keep asking !!! alot of this is trial and error hand on experience. It will all come together once you get your Ego, but you will still have to suffer through the learning curve. worth every ounce of effort !!!!
  12. I haven't run across this problem. The mix sounds right, so somehow it has to be a problem with the VG or the PG. Do you have any fruit flavored premixed flavors?? Try adding the flavoring to a bit of a premixed liquid--It shouldn't be the flavoring--not using enough to affect the vapor production.... Did you get the VG and PG from Dawn??
  13. full strength(premixed liquid), apparently works like vicks. I haven't tried this....Just what I have heard. I hate allergies......
  14. a build up of lactic acid can cause muscle pain..... lots and lots of fluid--helps flush lactic acid. Would look at VG as an alternative and see if it make a difference. I'm sure theres a solution !!
  15. I was never a menthol smoker and never really cared for the flavor. I started adding a few drops to all my mixed shortly after I first started. I love the cool throat hit, without tasting like menthol. Just be cautious--it is really potent and a pain in the *** to get out of the atty if too strong !!! I have only used the DV concentrates--but I have heard great things about the sinus clearing properties of the mentholyptus.
  16. I only like a hint of menthol flavoring, just enough to give a bit of throat kick. the mentholyptus is potent stuff. once diluted, 60mls will probably last you 2 lifetimes......
  17. The whole flavor (or lack thereof) is how I got into DIY originally. Flavorshack really is great !!! I really love the flavors and selection is phenomenal. Welcome to the wonderful world of DIY
  18. There will me many that will comment on cartomizers, but I haven't made the switch. I do mostly drip. but when I use carts I use the blue foam from strictly ejuice. https://strictlyejuice.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_49&products_id=222&zenid=tgt2o0nrsbhophmh27160ottd1 Over the last year I have tried many, many options and the blue foam has worked best for me.
  19. Very, Very Nice !!!!! I couldn't mod my way out of a cardboard box.....
  20. sorry, no help..... I use my ego and my VP/PT--I have kept my nic level at 18mg since I started. however, I can see how that might be, the ego does hit more consistently for a much longer period of time.
  21. Congrats Hodge !!! That really is a milestone It feels so good to reach the point that cigarettes are no longer an option. It really is very freeing !!! I have never run into another community quite like the vaping community. Everybody here is truly amazing !!! keep on vaping
  22. Very good to know. I do like the eythol. Time to experiement a little...... Just got some more tiramisu and apple pie flavoring......may try a batch with marshmallow and another with the eythol and see what works.
  23. I actually have some marshmallow flavoring I havent used yet. marshmallow and peanut butter sounds really good !!! I've been vaping freedomsmoke usa thin mint......It's really, really good. but marshmallow added might be even better. I can never leave flavors alone.
  24. Just added myself to the 'notify me' list. You guys are killing me. I have yet to make it through a month without somebody posting something I just have to have......
  25. vaping piece of art !!! very, very nice. Lucky Dog !!!
