  1. Even after blowing out the atomizer, there is still a bit of a breaking in period. The harshness does go away. Have you tried direct dripping?? or using carts/cartomizers?? If you are thinking the 26 mg is a bit too strong there are a couple of alternatives #1--for the quickest fix--you can get some wiltons glycerin from walmart or a craft store--found in the cake baking/decorating section. works great to lower the liquid you currently have. #2-PG or VG from any of our suppliers. VG(vegetable glycerin) is a bit thicker, better vapor production, but some flavor seems to get lost with VG. PG is propylene Glycol--thinner and works better for flavor. most people prefer a combination of PG/VG. you can always look up Propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin (wiki) for more details. going with approx 1mg of nicotine per cigarette--26mg/ml liquid would be the equivalent to 26 cigarettes. I currently use 18mg and use 1.5-2 ml/day. about 27-36mg/day. I smoked about 30/day (sometimes more). using standard dropper bottle that most of the liquids come in--PG--approx 30 drops = 1ml. VG is thicker so about 20 drops/ml. Hope that helped a little
  2. Good for you I love it when one of us is able to convert somebody. I even have my kits converting their friends. Neither of my kids smoke--but they love what it has done for me. I had smoked their whole lives. I have even emailed them a PV resource guide to send to anybody interested. of course I have vapor talk at the top of the list !!! Happy vaping
  3. My absolute worst case scenario--- I would think we could still get the hardware for vaping 0 nic--so long as I can get throat hit from 0 nic, I figure I could always get my nicotine via the patch. The hardest would be the atomizers, but I am certain we will find a way to get them or at least somebody will develop an alternative. The act of smoking for me is more important than the nicotine. It really and truly is my pacifier. The lolite does look interesting.
  4. The calculator actually does work pretty well. The drops vary, but using a syringe or other ML measurement works great. I am another one that has trouble with flavor. I taste everything else just fine--For me anyway, I just like strong flavors. freedomsmokeusa/flavourart or DIY flavor shack both of these have some great flavors and mixing supplies.
  5. Freedomsmoke USA DIY flavor shack You will need: PG and/or VG Nicotine liquid-unflavored. The flavoring and PG/VG will dilute the nicotine, so you want higher strength nicotine liquid Syringe (makes measuring much, much easier). needle or pipette. 3 or 5 ml bottles for mixing. Flavoring (s) of your choice. Initially you want to mix with smaller amounts until you figure out the recipe that works for you. The menthols are pretty strong. a little goes a very long way. same with any of the tobacco flavorings.
  6. Congratulations all the way around !!! up to 3 days and 10 hours according to your banner. I love my ego--and I have several mods, but the ego is my out and about weapon of choice. Happy vaping
  7. Happy almost birthday !!! and hopefully happy Ego..... You should be ok on the 15th. The government doesn't move that quickly.
  8. You can use either a USB to wall adapter or the USB to car adapter. The USB part of the ego charger just fits into the charger/adapter--then just plug into the wall or car (depending on which one you have) You have the Ego USB charger??? ego/usb charger My link. Clear as mud??
  9. It takes a while to figure out all the bits and pieces involved with vaping. Some (like me)-enjoy mixing or changing flavors, others don't. For me, It was about the premixed liquids never having strong enough flavor. I love tons of flavor !!!
  10. couple options for increasing the flavor: 1. You can add flavor to you current liquid. using a 3 or 5ml bottle--add your premixed liquid and add a few drops at a time until you get the flavor you want. freedomsmokeusa Flavourart flavorings has a very wide selection of flavors. The tobacco flavors are very strong--a little goes a very long way. 2. DIY Flavor Shack-- you can have Dawn mix up some flavors to your specifications. DIY flavorshack. Can also get just the tobacco flavorings to add to your existing flavors. Finding the Right flavors is a big part of the challenge.
  11. Unfortunately I don't think the mains charger will work with the ego. designed for the 510. http://www.azsmokefree.com/inc/sdetail/701 I have this one(car adapter)--and it works great in my car. I prefer the USB chargers--makes it easier to charge any where. I am sure TW will let you return the charger if you don't have the 510 mains charger.
  12. Yeah !!!!!! I still can't believe How thoroughly vaping has replaced smoking for me. For me Vaping and drinking are very good together--no burn holes in my clothes
  13. LOL--most of us learn the hard way. backups, backups, backups !!!
  14. Very glad you were able to get through without trouble. Vaping and traveling were made for each other. I used to absolutely dread not being able to smoke for hours at a time while traveling--vaping has made my life soooo much nicer !!!!
  15. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job with helping him. Sometimes it just takes time. I was fortunate and stopped smoking as soon as I started vaping (unintentionally)--others just take more time. When He's ready, you will be there to support and encourage.....
  16. What strength and flavor are you using??? New atomizer?? The 510 is known for it's strong throat hit--but shouldn't be too harsh.
  17. if you can find it--the fluval 2 plus usually works well. There are many types of fluval. if you open the package you can tell which one is closest in consistency to the cart filler. I actually much prefer the blue foam from strictly ejuice. The aquarium blue filter isn't quite the same. the price from strictly ejuice is pretty good. The blue foam is actually meant as a plug, the foam fills only about 1/3 of the cart. strictly ejuice site has a diagram and instructions.
  18. Thank You. part cheerleader !!! and part Hard A**. Back problems are the worst. That and my son has scoliosis--makes me more sympathetic
  19. Unfortunately some people do need more than one surgery. back problems are difficult to treat at best. but you figure, you wouldn't be looking at this path if it wasn't already that bad !! by being diligent with you back precautions you can slow the chances of needing more surgery. BLT--Bending, Lifting, Twisting. Low impact exercise--swimming, walking helps too. Compliance with therapy and recovery is one of the main reasons spine surgeries fail or need to be repeated. Learn as much as you can about the recovery and tricks you can use (avoid the horror stories like the plague). as far as the nicotine goes--I know all of our spine surgeons are adamant about no nicotine to help with recovery. As a nurse I can actually support this. The pathophysiology of bones supports this. the circulation to the bones is very, very sensitive--the bones don't use a lot of blood, so what blood they do get is very important. Blaming every disease or problem on smoking or nicotine pisses me off--but occasionally, it may not be the cause, but it certainly doesn't help. I haven't tried lower my nic yet--but I do find that using a bit of menthol in my flavors adds to the throat hit--this may help with lower the nic. FT Joe and Nana both use 0 nic and may be able to help with this. YOU CAN DO THIS !!!!!!
  20. Level as in horizontal. However, I have never had any problem with mine being upside down or right side up. Horizonal helps keep the liquid from pooling in the atty, however with 510 atty's thats not a huge problem--burns off excess liquid pretty fast.
  21. Very Glad you have had a couple nights of good sleep !!!! Makes the world seem a little more tolerable when you've had a good night.
  22. first thing is to stop reading the horror stories. There are many, many reasons for spine failure or success. you just need to focus on those things that will make you a success. Pain control is usually our hardest problem with spine patients due to the large volumes of pain meds they take daily-- by cutting that back (if you can) it will help after surgery. I see way more success with spine surgery than failure. Those with a positive attitude definitely seem to get better faster. The first thing I tell all my patients when they wake up--- Its going to hurt like a B**** to move, but moving is the only way you will get out of here. The more you move the quicker the pain gets better. You will do great !!! Time to start experimenting with some 0 nic flavors !!!
  23. For the most part I do think they try to blame way too much on smoking...... However, this time I do think nicotine does affect the blood flow to the bones and really can delay healing. the blood supply to the bones is not like the blood supply to our heart or muscles. The bones are more sensitive to decreases in circulation--and it has been proven that nicotine affects circulation. our spine surgeons don't even like to use nicotine patches, gum etc on their patients. I am a spine nurse and see the good and the bad. Sometimes spine surgery is the only way to help chronic pain, when everything else has failed. If you follow all the directions before and after surgery you will have a great outcome. One hint--the less pain medication you take a couple weeks before surgery--the better the pain medication works after surgery. One of the advantages to vaping vs smoking--you can wean yourself to 0 nic and still be able to vape !!!
  24. I am dripping with my 5v passthrough--bridge out. not problems with it. been working great !!! I still like using standard attys now and again just to change things up.
