As you have already noticed--most of us now prefer the ego. But for me it has been an evolutionary process. I started with 510--nice and slim. as stated already, the problem is the battery life, only a couple hours. will need some extra batteries and maybe a PCC (charging case). Most suppliers carry 510's, you can look through the VT supplier list and see what deals are out there. While you are shopping, look at the ego's-- I know, a bit bigger, but the batter life is much, much longer. If budget allows--extra batteries, atomizers and liquids are good to have. You will go with which ever model you think will work for you--No matter where you start--you will eventually own more than one model. We just really want you to succeed. keep asking, we will try to help

Interesting..... would much rather vape my nicotine than actually drink it. I kinda love the part that showed abstinence decreased over time with drinking the nicotine--vaping i'm sure would actually show an increase in abstinence..... Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing--showing nicotine is safer than smoking could work in our favor.... I am still certain I don't want to drink it !!! thanks for sharing the article.

In both my experiments I used VG. The key seemed to be adding a few drops of menthol to each of the mixes.... way more throat hit than I thought there was going to be.

Usually TW is pretty fast--don't know if maybe they got hit by a flood of orders..... and got a bit backed up. You can do this !!! waiting is really, really hard and having to smoke is even harder. hopefully today or tomorrow !!!! sorry you had to go back to smoking--even if it is just for a few days.......

I have now officially made it 24 hours. even made it through a 12 hour shift without killing anybody. honestly, I really don't notice a difference without the nicotine. I will be playing with more flavors as I go--I think I will mix a batch liquid--I will also mix a batch with 0 nic. I know I can do 0 nic if I have to. Currently, I have tons of nicotine to use up. I think I will just start alternating with the 0 nicotine. I really thought is would be harder. Having liquid with a good throat hit and vapor for me really does seem to be the key. I actually feel less anxious about the possibility of being cut off from nicotine. I still plan on fighting to keep nicotine--but it's nice to know I can do it. kinda like going without caffeine (except I didn;t get the headache) ok, just took a draw using nicotine (same flavor-apple pie)--The throat hit is stronger with the nicotine (16mg ish), but not drastically stronger than the 0 nic... But for this die hard nicotine addict--for the first time in my life--I went 24 hours without nicotine and really was ok with it...... I know, I'm rambling--I blame sleep deprivation (worked last night).

Ok, now that visual is pee my pants funny--I think I scared the dog I was laughing so hard !!! good thing my family already knows I'm nuts--random bits of laughter don't surprise them anymore.

If nothing else, it just reinforces why you gave up smoking---sometimes smoking a cigarette and hating the taste or smell, makes it easier to leave behind.

I had made a random comment within ear shot of our friends (then 3 year old)--something about somebody (one of my daughters friends) dressing like a ****....a couple minutes later.....I hear from the next room,yelled out of the mouth of a 3 year old.... "Shannon (my daughter) is a ****". I almost peed my pants laughing so hard--then had to explain why little girls can't say that.... I love little kids !!!!

I much prefer the manual batteries for a few reasons. The automatic batteries have a shut off feature that limits the person to a 2-3 second draw. There is a hole in the bottom of the battery of the automatics to sense the intake of breath, liquid can get into this hole and destroy or shorten the life of the battery. With the manual batteries, pressing the button becomes second nature very, very quickly. Allows control over The length of the draw. with the ego and the 510, long slow, gentle draws work best. The batteries are sealed, so no liquid can get into the battery. He must be pretty good if you are willing to help him with all this. really, filling the cartomizers isn't really too much. Unfortunately the prefilled ones don't get great reviews for flavor. Maybe try both.... buy some extra liquid--if he finds a flavor he likes, he won't mind filling the cartomizers or carts. You may have to refill initially, but hopefully he will decide he really love vaping and will be willing to work with the bit of maintenance. can lead a horse to water...... You are a very, very, very good wife and I hope he appreciates what you are doing for him.

For the slim cigarette type--the 510 is your best bet. great throat hit and vapor. over all a great unit. the only draw back is the battery life. The battery life is only a couple hours, frequent charging of batteries involved. would order extra batteries. 2nd vote is for the Ego--a bit bigger than the slim 510--but the battery life is most if not all day. significantly less charging. a bit less hassle. no matter which way you go, you will need to order some liquids--a few 10ml s in different flavors and extra atomizers or cartomizers or a combination of both. in picture: Sharpie, Ego 900mah(without cone), ego 650 mah, standard 510

Yeah Ofortuna !!!! what flavor did you make??? it is now 0250 (am)--so far so good. I am using the apple pie 0 nic and It's been ok. I really thought I would miss the nicotine a litte, but I don't even seem to notice the difference. even when people are driving me nuts. I will finish out the day with the 0 nic, just to be sure. I have tons of nicotine liquids that I love and will have to finish..... The throat hit has been just fine and the vapor is amazing.

Hey Lou--Welcome !! I know the Ego, Tornado and Riva all use 510 attys/parts. don't know the hello 16 The Ego and the Tornado are made by the same company. Not sure about the Riva or the hello 16 Very glad you have joined us.

Actually so far, I really haven't noticed any difference...... I'm really liking the applepie and the raspberry. Tons of vapor and very good throat hit. I don't really worry too much about the nicotine--I have plenty in the fridge and will be using it. This is Just an experiment to see if I can survive the FDA. So long as I can get hardware I think I might be ok. Then again, its only my first day with 0 nic. We'll see how I survive a 12 hour shift tonight.
