  1. The initial start up does cost a bit. Maintenance isn't much, unless of course you are like me and can't resist all the cool toys and gadgets. and then there are the backups and maybe a few more backups....... I figure so long as I spend less than I would smoking, I am good to shop !!!
  2. Personally for around the house and just about anytime I have enough light..... Ego or Turbo (vaprlife) + LR atty + drip Tip + which ever liquid strikes my fancy = sweet spot.
  3. I love to see all the flavors and device combinations !!! gone are the days of smoking the same thing day after day after day. tonight I'm hanging out with my vaprlife Turbo...4.9V..some yummy DIY mint choc esspresso. Alternating with a DIY champagne, Caramel blend. Dripping of course. Happy Vaping All
  4. sounds like your off to a good start. 5-10 ml juices are best to start with until you find the flavors that work best for you. rocky mountain has some decent liquids and good prices. I have ordered from them many times and never had any problems. what strength did you order? if possible its good to order a couple strengths to see what you prefer. 18 or 24 mg is usually a good place to start. The amount of liquid needed for a month really depends on usage. Until you know what your usage is...may want to have 40-60mls on hand just to be safe. I currently use about 45mls/month I mostly direct drip. dripping does burn through liquid a bit faster, but for me I get the best vapor production and flavor with dripping. Welcome to vaping !!!
  5. I am using a Tiramisu/Coffee DIY mix. Ego 900Mah + 510 LR atomizer + drip tip. Tiramisu is one of my favorite morning vapes.
  6. You will find varying degrees of opinion regarding which heating element works best (personal preference)--Atomizers (LR or standard), cartomizers, tanks. But we will all agree, The best place to start is the Ego. 650- 1000Mah. The lower the number the quicker the battery runs out of charge between charges. the 650 will give a heavy vaper 4-6 hours, the 1000 will easily last a day. with liquids, starting at 18mg-24mg works for most people. There is a learning curve with vaping, and some trial and error. There are quite a few device combinations out there. You may have to try a few different combinations until you find the one that works best for you. I promise it is well worth it !!! My sweet spot is Ego 900Mah + 510 LR atomizer + drip tip + 24mg liquid = My personal favorite.
  7. I haven't heard anything bad about heavenly gifts, they have actually been around for awhile. The main reason I never ordered from them is the shipping price from china made the cheap prices not so cheap (about the same as US prices). The shipping time from china can be a couple weeks. I have never had any problem with dekang liquids. I actually prefer mixing with dekang products. 60/40 is a good mix ratio. I like the tank for when I am out and about. I have recommended it for several friends as they start out. if you can have you dad throw in a couple extra 510 LR (low resistance) atomizers and a drip tip....gives you some extra vaping option. The ego battery is compatible with all 510 atomizers, cartomizers and tanks.
  8. Hmmm, sounds interesting. May experiment with it. FlavorArt makes a good coffee espresso Flavor that I really like. Great for mixing with applepie and tiramisu flavoring. http://www.ecigexpress.com/flavoring-c-16 I love trying new stuff.
  9. Congrats to your Wife !!! quitting all together is amazing.
  10. mine was the Titan 510 and a DSE 901. Those were the best of the best at the time, 2 1/2 years ago. The screwdriver and other mods were just starting to make an appearance. I still have several 510 floating around in my vaping inventory. really don't miss the days of carts and foam, not even a drip tip in sight. I am glad the industry is growing and evolving. However, my 510's did the trick for the first year.
  11. Who would have ever thought any of us would make it 2 years without smoking..... 2 1/2 years later, I still don't miss smoking
  12. I'm all for a lack of seasons and plenty of warm weather year 'round. seasons are over rated...
  13. And its still snowing.....anybody want to come shovel snow....
  14. There is a lot of trial and error with mixing. Once you find the combinations that work for you, mixing is really easy. I still love the challenge of creating new flavors.
  15. Welcome !! Love DIY, mixing and matching flavors is something I have been doing since I first started vaping 2 1/2 years ago. No perfect chocolate yet. So far, my favorite coffee flavoring is flavourArts coffee espresso. mixes great with the mint chocolate from flavor west. Ecig express has a great selection of flavors and really good prices. FA does have a chocolate....just not quite right, not bad, just not quite there. Chocolate flavoring is so hard to nail.
  16. Welcome !! Very glad to have you with us. As you have noticed you will get a wide variety of answers. We all have our preferences for which combination of devices we prefer. For me, I use the Ego battery + 510 tank for when I can't drip. my sweet spot is the Ego + 510 LR atomizer + drip tip. As you have also noticed....lots of trial and error. But, once you get the hang of things...you won't look back. The Ego battery is compatible with so many different heating elements...tank, atomizers (standard and Low resistance), cartomizers,.... Very glad to see you have been doing research. Nic strength is also individual...I am anywhere btwn 18mg and 24 mg...depends on the flavor I am using.
  17. Rednecks are such an amazing species..... common denominator for trying stupid things......Men.....Where, are the women...drinking and laughing at the men.
  18. Now, It's Our turn...really cold and plenty of white stuff. I hate the cold and snow !!!
  19. I mostly DIY to various degrees....from scratch or just mixing and matching flavors. I tend to buy 36mg flavored liquids and DIY with that. Here's my 2 cents.... Baking glycerin and Pharma glycerine are both VG, Which is thicker and sweeter than PG. I Tend toward all PG mixes, or about 10% VG if I need a bit more vapor. I usually buy PG from from either Liberty flights or word up....more expensive than buying bulk, but I really don't use much these days, as I have found it so much easier to just mix with the premixed flavors and then dilute and/or add flavoring to taste... Most flavorings are alcohol based and are thin. More often than not I use enough flavoring to cut my 36mg liquids and add a bit of VG for extra vapor. Clear as mud......
  20. Video isn't available....I love redneck stuff !!
  21. Mind you, This is only personal experience and not very scientific. I have left batteries in my Jeep many times over night in temps up to(or down to) below zero(occasionally colorado gets that cold) and When used while it was cold, the charge did seem to be quite a bit less than normal, but once I recharged them and had them back to a more reasonable temp, they seemed to work fine. On the other hand, I have had the heat in Arizona kill a battery......
  22. I guess I hadn't noticed that the Uk site had a more limited stock. The flavourArt flavors are all water soluable....you can look at their site-- http://www.flavourartexpress.biz/index.php?dispatch=pages.view&page_id=7 this page gives some information about the flavors they sell. You can check out the flavor suppliers. I primarily use FlavourArt or perfumers apprentice. We all use various vendors for various supplies.
  23. You should be good with ebay stuff--pharma grade. The baking glycerine has always worked well for me. Glad you were smart and only mixed a small amount to start. takes a bit of trial and error. Both liberty flights and totally wicked have UK sites (as you probably know), both care some very good flavorings.
  24. I come from a family of nurses....we are pretty good at moving holidays and events to suit our needs....our friends have learned to adjust too (since I am the one cooking)
