typically the nicotine will degrade over time....I would pitch them.

What level of nicotine you looking to end with? I assume you are using unflavored liquid as the base? Not sure how strong the flavors you have are....but its best to start with a little and add until you get the right flavor. Not sure how those flavors would mix together. the clove and apple might work together. clove is usually pretty strong, so a little goes a very long way. The best way to start is use 3 or 5ml empty bottles. Put some of the base in the empty bottle, add a few drops of the flavoring, shake well and taste (vape) add more flavoring if needed. for tasting, dripping works best.

Welcome Back !!! a very huge congrats on 2 years. Good for you being brave enough to at least give your dreams a shot sorry its been rough, but its good you are giving this a shot.
-
At least congrats on not smoking !!!! Funny enough....sometimes stopping smoking allows symptoms to surface. At least the palpitations were checked out. The human body is beyond complicated....sometimes its amazing it runs at all. Good Luck

When did you start vaping? and when did you quit smoking? quitting smoking can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including the ones you describe. It kinda sounds like some of the symptoms of nicotine toxicity...but if you were a 2 pack a day, even at 10ml of 5mg/day the actual nicotine intake isn't more than you smoked. still doesn't mean you aren't reacting to the nicotine. could possibly be a reaction to the flavoring in the liquids you are using.... The symptom that worries me is the palpitations.....Not something to ignore. It really might be time for a check up.

Personally.....I use the corner of a kleenex or paper towel, twist the end, gently push into the open end of the atomizer, let sit over night or 10-15 min...depending on how impatient I am. you can use compressed air to hasten the procedure....use the compressed air nozzel at the battery end of the atomizer (very small hole)...keep the kleenex or paper towel in the open end. There is no miracle cure....if the above doesn't work, I pitch it and start a new one.

Welcome the wonderful (overwhelming) world of vaping. Sounds like you are on the right track. Lots of trial and error. The eGo line is a great place to start. A couple drip tips are a must if you want to try your hand a dripping. back up batteries, atomizers-cartomizers-tanks-clearomizers, charger and liquids are always a good thing. you may want to look at starting with 24 mg liquids, but will want some 18 mg too. you will have to play with the nicotine levels to find the one that works best for you. Most of us Vape way more than we smoked....because we can !

Water soluable flavors mix better with the PG and VG bases. oil based flavorings can kill the heating elements. the oils gunk up the coils. Most of the flavors at these sites are water soluable http://www.ecigexpress.com/ http://www.onestopdiyshop.com/products/The-Flavor-Apprentice-Professional-Flavors.html I haven't found a good way to get rid of the perfume flavor with certain flavors....I just end up moving to a new flavor.

In the 'old' days we had to drip without a drip tip (hadn't been created yet). Glad it's working for you. drip tips just make things more convenient.

knock on wood.....no cold in the last 3 years, then again, I didn't get sick often before I quit smoking. I know for certain that I am no longer short of breath going up a short flight of stairs, and I no long sound like I'm going to cough up a lung every morning....

heres a video on direct dripping. There are so many options and variables with vaping, Its good to try out your options until you find out what works best for you. Direct dripping gives the best flavor and is great for trying new flavors or sampling several flavors. This is a thread about direct dripping that might help: The clearomizers last any where from a couple weeks to several weeks. depends on how often you are using it, liquid types (VG and really dark liquids seems to clog things up a bit). No exact time frame. hang in there, it gets easier.

sounds like you may be having problems with the liquid wicking to the heating element. I have had this problem on and off with the short wick clearomizers. I have found if I gently tap it or gently blow through the mouth piece every couple draws, it helps to keep from getting that burnt taste.

PG = better throat hit, holds flavor better VG = bit sweeter, bit less throat hit, better vapor, thicker I use mostly PG, with just a bit of VG for vapor. 90/10 ish..... For me, higher VG...>50% seems to clog up atty's quicker. thicker liquids don't always wick as well. it really is personal preference.

Blucavvy and Tameiki both gave you excellent advice already. When you first start vaping, things are a bit overwhelming...I promise, It will all be worth it. I haven't smoked in over three years now....for me that is a major miracle. 2. For the most part the cartridges are very inefficient. but yes, fill the cartridge until the filler is wet, may have to pull the filler up a bit now and again. You can pull out the filler, rinse and reuse if you really want to. Now, that being said. The clearomizers are much more efficient and easy to use. As you continue vaping you will find many options and setups....its half the fun...trying new things. atomizers are much better for dripping (drip tip) 3. dripping (atomizer + drip tip) is much better than the cartridges....getting the hang of dripping can be a bit of a learning curve, but, in my opinion, worth it. 4. Nicotine definitely affects throat hit, but for me personally, doesn't really affect flavor. Most suppliers use unflavored nicotine in varying strengths. Flavors really depend on the supplier. 5. 18mg - 24 mg is a good place to start. once you get the hang of things you can lower the nic level if you need. For me personally, I'm ok with the nicotine. still use 18-24mg....personal preference. I like the throat hit. Craving cigarettes is normal, nicotine is a very small portion of the chemicals our body craves when we quit. finding the right flavors and strength help alot. 6. sore throat will pass. good on water. if you like butter rum, you will like butterscotch. so many flavors to choose from !!! questions are good !!! They help you and they help others new to vaping. ask away. tons of info on the forum.
-
Welcome !!! If you have any questions, just ask. somebody will be around to answer. vaping beats smoking hands down.

Most attys ship with an empty cart attached. until you get a drip tip....the easy way is to just remove the cartridge, drip and replace cart...vape. or like Mcquinn posted....can cut the cart in half and use as a drip tip.

Help With Vision 2.0 Clearomizers
kitsune replied to twilightbloom's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
For me, clearomizers are a good thing. if the voltage drops off when the battery is low on charge it will affect the clearomizers. Sometimes older batteries don't hold a charge as well. I have a couple of batteries (older eGo's) that they don't like to work with. For me, I just add more of a different flavor, but most of mine are pretty compatible. If not you can just remove the tip, shake out any excess liquid and refill, the flavors get a bit mixed for a bit but then the new flavor takes over. Mine usually last me a couple 3 weeks before they become hard to draw or the flavors just die out. A couple things I have discovered: My Clearomizers don't like cinnamons much, turns to a burnt taste. strong mint or menthols also can lead to a burnt taste. Higher VG liquids to have a tendency to clog up quicker. -
we try to keep discussion of 36mg nicotine and higher to the DIY section of the forum http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/131-diy-%26-e-liquid-forum/. due to the potential for nicotine toxicity. Just helps protect the forum. That being said...heres a couple sites you can check out. http://www.ecigexpress.com/ http://www.wordupecig.com/

Continuous Stream Of Vapor And Hot
kitsune replied to lyndz21's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Fortunately I have only had 2 batteries die or malfunction after only a couple months. For the most part I have had pretty good luck with the eGo batteries. still worth contacting the supplier. -
Continuous Stream Of Vapor And Hot
kitsune replied to lyndz21's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
sounds like the button possibly got stuck. doesn't happen often, but has been known to happen. Have you tried to charge the battery? If the battery in newish, I would contact the sellar, they will usually replace. sorry, not much help otherwise, sorry. -
Just answered in your other post. vaping with nicotine is still better than smoking !!! smoking includes many more additives that add the issues with heart disease. Nicotine is not the sole culprit when it comes to damage to our bodies.
-
Mcquinn will probably have a better answer, but, for me, I change nic levels as needed, without any problems. This will probably be the best way for you in the beginning until you can adjust to not smoking. Personally, It is still better than smoking....hands down. I use clearomizers and dripping....with these two it is very easy to switch strengths as needed. I figure, Somedays I need more caffeine to get going or keep going....same thing with the nicotine.

E-Cigarette User Poll @ Surveymonkey

Hope your research goes well !!! -
Honestly, its best to get a few different strengths and find which works for you. You may do fine on the lower nic and then be able to use an 18mg or 24mg when you feel you need a bit more. and work your way down. with heart disease + contraceptives, the lower the nic the better.
