Dripping really is great for changing flavors frequently. Its not convenient when out and about, but as home its great. No unscrewing, the drip tip allows you to drip directly to the atomizer. 2 drips is good for 5-6 draws and then add a couple more drops, vape and repeat. the T2 clearomizers are another great way to go. I haven't tried them yet, but I think Tameiki has me convinced. I change flavors frequently throughout the day.

For me, I've been pretty happy with mine. I do get an occasional burnt hit, flavor has been pretty good (not as good as dripping). only been using mine for about a week, but for me, no far so good. no leaks. no gurgles. easy to fill. I found if I get some liquid in the center post is does gurgle a bit. then again, I like lots of variety....I still love my vision clearomizers, and the vivi nova's. of the 3, I think I like the vivi novas best. It really does boil down to personal preference....

Like Jeff said !! Welcome ! you sound like you are on the right track. The ego is a great place to start. Clearomizers are very easy to use, fill and vape. over time you will end up trying many different setups...atomizer, cartomizer, various clearomizers....but for now simple is good. The 1100 ego batteries are fairly long with a great use time between charges. you may find the 1100 a bit longer than your used to. my personal preference is 900mah ego battery. easily lasts me all day between charges. not sure which kits they have, but for you first e cig, the 1100 may (or may not) be a bit more obvious than you are looking for........

hiccups are caused by irritation to the diaphram. Could possibly be from inhaling too deeply. Also, nicotine is a stimulant...you could possibly have a very sensitive diaphram, Other than that, not certain. Hiccups are a funny thing. for some reason, men are more prone to hiccups, their Diaphrams are positioned a bit higher in the chest cavity.....no really good cure that I know of....other than mayby thorazine.

I have no illusions that I have traded one habit for another, I also know, I would still be smoking if I hadn't found vaping. It really doesn't bother me what people think about it....I just reply: would you rather I was still smoking cigarettes? If its strangers...I really, really don't care what they think.
