  1. No worries. 125 ml can mix a decent amount of juice. If you are mixing to 18 mg......you would use 9 Mls of nicotine liquid to create 30 Mls. At this point I wouldn't go higher until you get the hang of things. Initially I started with 36 mg, easier to mix to 18 mg for me. Just keep in mind the more concentrated the nicotine, the more toxic. Significant risk if there are kids and pets around.
  2. I've highlighted the items I use most often when mixing. the 3ml bottles are the most helpful for mixing small amounts. as far as the kit....sounds like a good combination of items, you may find you won't need some of it. but that part is up to you. Currently I use 100mg/ml nicotine for mixing.....Keep in mind, Its is very toxic at this strength, then again 60mg/ml is nothing to get careless with either. Most bases, flavorings etcs come in PG. for PG/VG mixes you need to take this into account. I use the eliquid recipe manager for android on my phone. can help manage PG/VG rations, multiple flavorings etc. These 2 links are for quart size PG and VG. you can buy it by the gallon(s) for cheaper, but it is way too much and will expire before you can use it. Before investing a ton in DIY, start small and see if you like it. http://www.amazon.com/Glycerin-Vegetable-Kosher-USP-Quart/dp/B004C7MTLA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372754260&sr=8-1&keywords=usp+vegetable+glycerin http://www.amazon.com/Propylene-Glycol-Food-Grade-Quart/dp/B005PZBRUC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372754187&sr=8-1&keywords=usp+pg Hope that helps a little. give a shout out if you need more info. We have a few DIYers on the forum. Merry Mixing
  3. Welcome !! better device and hopefully the last time you have to quite smoking.
  4. Welcome !! not much help in the mod department, but glad you decided to join in.
  5. We do try hard to keep things friendlier. Many of us are here, because we don't like the attitudes on ECF. Occasionally tempers flare, just like in any family. Just sorry it got caught up on your thread. I love all the variety and opinions on the forum, I stay here because I really am a VT fangirl !!
  6. For anybody looking for quality service and supplies: My first purchase through the Marketplace was a great experience. navigating a new site is always a bit tough, but I found the marketplace to be very user friendly. I love the choices from the participating vendors. My order was placed on june 23rd and my products arrived on June 26th and June 27th, and thats shipping to Hawaii. Much like Amazon, Each vendor has its own shipping cost, but some of them offer free shipping. I happened to pick one free and one with low shipping. The Marketplace still has some room to grow, but I was able to find everything I wanted and even somethings I didn't know I wanted. Being able to choose from multiple vendors saved a lot of time jumping from site to site determining who had what. I see much more shopping with the Marketplace in my future!!
  7. Time out....Time to play nice. This isn't ECF, we really do try to keep things a little more friendly and family oriented. Name calling is certainly not a part of this forum. I am sorry your thread was hijacked bcarter. several people have tried to redirect toward discussion. discussion and differing opinions are welcome, bashing...not so much !
  8. I kept 3 packs of smokes, plus the 1/2 pack I had been working on when I found vaping. took me about a year to finally throw them away. I like my 650 and 900 Mah batteries, much easier to carry around when I am out. The Higher the Mah, the longer it will last between charges. With my 650 and 900 I always keep a spare on or near me when I am out. Backups, backups, backups. Before long you will have many different types and sizes.
  9. Welcome !! Congrats to you and your family.
  10. As you can tell, I love DIY. For me it started as a search for stronger flavors, as I am flavor challenged. I love the endless possibilities. If you have any questions or trouble, just ask. There are quite a few of us that love to help out.
  11. One of the most amazing things about vaping is the variety, there is something for everybody. Unlike when we were all smoking.....can't believe I smoked the same thing for 30 years, and hated it most of the time, now thats an addiction !! I prefer the 2 ml clearomizers/tanks. I am not set on any particular setup, I love variety. The only leaking I have had with the vivi nova is from the bottom of the tank....I have found If I put it in my pocket, occasionally the metal bottom of the tank loosens/shifts and allows leaking. I have found its easy enough to reseat it...I just try not to keep it in my pocket. The kangers do occasionally give a burned hit, some kind of wicking problem. Usually it resolves itself, if not, just means its time to replace the coil. I often recommend the vivi novas and kangers to new vapers, very easy to use while learning the ropes. beyond all that......for me, dripping will always be my sweet spot for absolute flavor !!
  12. I use both, and personally, not much difference in throat hit and vapor production. I just like variation. If you like the kanger you really don't need to have the vivi nova. I really like both of them.
  13. Welcome !! Very glad you have found us. This really is a great place to hang out.
  14. Welcome !! If you have questions, This is as good a place as any. Not sure if there is still a 5 post minimum for posting in the general forum....
  15. Welcome !! Don't know enough about the starter kit to comment. but the spinner and vivi nova tanks are great.
  16. Not to mention, oil based favors are really bad for heating elements! Beyond that, if you really want to know what's in the liquids, DIY is the way to go. For the most part, the flavorings are actually food flavorings. I avoid the darker flavorings (just a thing for me). I'm not exactly sure what's used in most food flavorings. Inhaling anything into the lungs (sometimes even air) is not healthy...it's about weighing risk vs benefit...we each have to make our own choices in the end
  17. @ Tam..... The wick can easily lead to burning flavor. Originally the wick was designed to be used with the old poly fill/cartridges....the wick would held move the liquid from the cartridge to the heating element. With dripping the wick is obsolete. It just holds on to old favors and gets gunked up. If I don't always remove the bridge, but I do always remove the wick. Clear as mud?
  18. I agree with Tams info !! The only but......The 901's are not compatible with 510 unless you have an adapter (unless they have changed since I used them a few years ago) 510's and 306 are my choices. I prefer the LR (Lower resistence), but its good to try the different resistances to see what you like. The 306's need a 306 drip tip...I prefer the 306 XL drip tips (longer tip, bit of a cooler hit when using the lower resistance ). I like the 306 for trying new flavors, much easier to clean in between flavors, just remove the drip tip and soak up excess liquid with a kleenex or paper towel...I also remove the wick fibers placed in the metal bridge. wick fibers are also found in the 510 atomizers. Heads up....if you go 306, it comes shiped with a blank cartridge that needs to be removed and then replaced with the drip tip.
  19. Welcome !! ask away, there is always somebody around to help out.
