  1. I'll add my 2 cents 1. 48 mg does seem a bit high--be careful with that. I use 18 mg with the 510 and get an excellent throat hit. I might just be the brand you are using. The other thing I do is to add just a small amount of menthol to all my liquids--doesn't taste like menthol, but adds to the throat hit. 2. When I am vaping more often, I will have 2 units in use and alternate. When the atty is cool, the throat hit is improved. 3. I also find if the throat hit/vapor drops off--I add a drop directly to the atomizer Happy vaping
  2. I know I have replaced one addiction with another. Vaping has been better for me than smoking, but in the end It is another addiction. The same goes for those that have quit smoking and chew nic gum continuously or eat or what ever else replaced smoking. I have explained to many that it is a Nicotine replacement device--like the gum and the patch. I have taken to using the term Nicotine inhaler--less negative terminology. There will always be ignorance And there will always be those that see it as 'cheating'-- We are 'cheating' the tobacco companies out of their cut We are 'cheating' when we can vape and smokers can't smoke I Just smile and say 'cheating' is the best thing that ever happened to me !!!!
  3. If the unmentionable were to come to pass--vapers being such a diverse and creative group--we will find ways around things. The only thing I know for certain--I can never go back to smoking and I refuse to give up vaping. Happy Vaping
  4. For me--it cured any and all cravings for a cigarette --ever. I had only had random short lived cravings--but just a couple hits cured me for life. Vaping is so amazing. let us know how it goes for you speakeasy..... Happy vaping
  5. each airline has its own policies regarding vaping on planes. I have flown a few times since I started vaping--the longest was a 7 hour flight. When I am in public places that are nonsmoking, I always vape very discreetly or use the restroom. especially with the current climate in airports/plane--I figure pushing the point is not worth missing my flight. I have not had a problem with TSA/security. I put my liquids in the quart baggie and the other parts are in my carry-on bag. I have never had anybody say anything. from what I understand--even on flights that specifically prohibit e-cigs--you can still have them in your bags--much like having your smokes with you. you can carry them--just can't smoke them. happy vaping
  6. Derek--you can help your mother in law figure out the nicotine intake. Using a standard dropper bottle (I tried 3 different types)--I got about 3 drops = .1ml or 30 drops/1ml' I currently use 18mg/ml liquid 18mg=30drops 18 divided by 30 = .6mg/drop I figure I use about 1.5 mls/day--21mg/day I smoked 30 or so cigarettes/day--approx 1mg nicotine/cigarette would have been 30 or so mg/day even though I vape more than I smoked--my overall nicotine intake is less.
  7. a week or so after I started vaping, I did the same thing. out of curiosity I tried a marlboro light--3 drags and I was done. The big advantage for me was the removal of any and all cravings I had for a cigarette. I know for a fact that I can never go back to smoking. That was 6 months ago and I can't ever imagine going back to smoking.
  8. Welcome to the vaping world. Its tough in the beginning--getting all the parts and liquids and spares. You will be able to give up smoking soon enough (permanently)

  10. I'm with Hawk on this. If I get liquid in my mouth or on my lips i make sure I rinse with water or other liquid. I do find I drink more water with vaping--bit of a dry mouth at times. some people are more prone to canker sores than others--I am one of those that gets canker sores for various reasons--e-liquid is a definite cause for me. BirdDog--I have heard this a few times. from vaping very heavily or holding the e-cig in their mouth--much heavier than a cigarette.
  11. Very good story, very entertaining !!!! Happy Vaping
  12. Welcome and congrats. My kids love the fact that I no longer stink and I might live longer. the 510 is great. any problems--ask, somebody will have an answer. JM--congrats on get your father hooked. 2 weeks is great !!!!
  13. Hey pelican--as you can tell--you have stumbled upon the nut house. My personal preference is a combination of dripping and topping. As the flavor/vapor begins to drop off (6-10 draws/depends on frequency of draws)--add 1 drop to atty and one drop to cart. I also prefer the straw mod for the 510 carts--allows a bit more liquid to cart and allows faster wicking. and really easy to do. I use the double barrel coffee straws(red/white). any small barrel coffee straws will work. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html vape (verb) to vape vapour/vapor--the 'smoke' vaper (noun)non gender specific however the previous definitions were much more inspired. serial vapist--might get you arrested...... happy vaping P.S. the VP-passthrough is pretty amazing
  14. I knew I bought the right product !!!!! Love the video
  15. Hey speakeasy-- I too drip and leave the filler in place. couple reasons--1. helps conserve liquid--any excess liquid falls to the filler. 2. usually add a couple drops to the atomizer and a drop to the cart--gives me more vape before adding more liquid. 3. flavor wise I haven't found much difference, I use a blank (empty) cart when I am trying out new flavors or mixing. Hey BirdDog--Just being nosey-- What part of colorado??
  16. Welcome. You will find tons of support around here. The 510 is definately a great place to start. Just make sure you order at least one extra battery and atomizer (more if budget allows). It never hurts to have back ups--Just in case. and liquid. Once you get settled with vaping, then start looking into some of the fancier models. my 510 has kept me smoke free for almost 6 months--30/day for 30ish years. go for the 510 !!!!!
  17. It should work with the car adapter, just may get lower voltage out of it. haven't tried mine with the car adapter yet either.
  18. can also try Rocky Mountain Vapors--have a few flavors in 50ml. stock is a bit down at the moment--but they have several flavors
  19. I'll add my 2 cents---510 most definately. Make sure you get extra batteries, atomizers and liquid. the next step is the passthrough--I highly recommend the VP-PT from vaprlife--see the vapor talk store. what you buy and how many extra parts all depend on the budget. happy vaping
  20. 510 PCC--battery, 2 atts, 1 cart and one set already in use and a 5ml bottle of liquid. In my Jeep I keep a couple extra batts/atts/cart/liquid (caselogic USB case). Being a girl and carrying a small bag has its advantages. Tempted to bring my VP-PT and sit near a plug in--not very discreet however.
  21. Got back from Vacation yesterday and had a wonderful package from vaprlife on the table. I am in Love with this thing. I got the PV-PT green with 510 adapter. I love the plug in adapter and cord length. Amazing product that kicks A** My husband (nonsmoker)--looks at me strange when he's home--he can never understand how amazing it is.
  22. It's hard to separate vaping symptoms and tobacco withdrawl symptoms at first. For me initially I had the sore throat, occasional heartburn, stuffy nose, headache, very tired and felt very scattered, difficulty sleeping. that was almost 6 months ago--the bulk of those symptoms were tobacco related. My cough is nonexistent, not near as short of breath (can actually make it up a flight of stairs without sounding like I just ran the mile), taste has improved, smell has definately improved and I don't stink. If the coughing and stuffy nose doesn't improve in the next week or so--you may want to consider a sensitivity (allergy type) to one or more flavors. I have read several accounts on the forums about those symptoms being related to certain flavor additives (different people, different flavors) and or PG vs VG. in each case they were able to identify the culprit and continue happily vaping symptom free. RN to RN--give it a week or so--have you tried guaifenesin?? seemed to help me in the beginning
  23. Congrats 1. on growing large enough to have moderators 2. new store and 3. Vegasvapor and Sinikal--you will have your work cut out for you in the very near future. This really is a great forum.
