  1. I too use the Fluval 2 plus. I have tried most cart fillers over the last 7 months and I keep going back to the fluval. easy to use and one box will last a long time. I change the filler in my carts about once/week-- The fluval is easy to use--comes in rectangular sheet. cut to size of cart. I pull it in 1/2 and have enough for 2 carts per cut. Just want to make sure you don't pack the carts tight--slows down the wicking. Hope that made sense. Like smokin said--can find it at most pet shops in the aquarium section. There are many types of fluval--I like the 2 plus the best.
  2. Testing has become much more specific and far less false positives. Lots of things can show up--but they are looking for specific items (illegal drugs)--have to eat a whole lot of poppy seeds to trigger the test.
  3. Hey Nana--I know exactly what you mean !!!! I have ordered liquids and parts from them--and have had great service, the products have been great. !!! I have a few of my favorites, each of them offers something different.
  4. For me, the 18 mg has been perfect. Then again I was never as addicted to the nicotine as I was to the habit of smoking--the psychological component is what always led me back to smoking.
  5. My 5 volt experience is very limited--VP-Passthrough. I'm sure somebody with more 5 volt experience will be along soon. PG is Propylene Glycol is an additive in many food and household products- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol VG- Vegetable glycerine- is also a common food/product additive, but is vegetable based -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycerol Both products can be bought over the counter in most baking (craft stores) or pharmacy areas. Just make sure they are good grade.
  6. Nice way to start the new year. Life is way to short to be grumpy and/or hold grudges. smile, be happy and keep vaping !!!! I am immensely grateful to the vaping community for always giving me something to smile about. Keenan--you are always good to have around. I wish more people had your attitude. How is your wife doing??? Lisa
  7. Hey Crimus--would definitely consider trying VG. I have talked to several people that had coughing and wheezing from PG, they had good luck with VG. Drinking plenty of liquid helps a bit also. Hope you get it sorted out happy Vaping
  8. 28 hours is an excellent start. You can make it !!!! For the first (and last) time, I quit without becoming the Banshee from hell.... Let us know if you need anything--moral support, advice, smack upside the head--whatever you need... Happy Vaping
  9. There is nothing in e-liquid that would cause you to fail the test. The test is for very specific drugs/chemicals. there are reported cases of poppy seeds etc, but that is rare and the testing is more sensitive than it used to be. You have nothing to worry about !!!! (so long as you have not been ingesting illegal substances) Congrats on the soon to be Job, You will do great. Keep us posted.
  10. I have found that just pushing the corner of a paper towel into the atty and letting sit for 10-15 minutes removes a lot of the excess liquid that can build up. I usually do this every few days. add a couple drops to the atty to prime. Breaking in does vary. I find when I use a new atty, i drip a couple drops on to the atty, vape and repeat. Usually up to speed in a couple of hours (or less). I usually use the paper towel to absorb some of the primer before use. I gave up on fancier cleaning--for me anyway, it didn't seem to make much difference. When I am uncertain about the life of the atty I use a multimeter to measure current. Happy Vaping
  11. I got lucky and found the 510 when I first started and love it (7 months later) I was 30/day for 30 years and 18 mg has worked great for me--however if you go up to 24 mg and find it is too strong for you, you can use PG or VG to cut it down. For me 5 volt is a bit stronger and bit better throat hit--some people find the difference to be significant and too strong. I do find I take a shorter draw with the 5 volt. The 510 I think is a great place to start and get a hold on the learning curve. Good liquid is just as important !!!
  12. I had a couple of attys where the threads under the element were really visible and driving me nuts, Just made the atty look wrong and too fuzzy--removed them carefully and have not had any problem with atty's. no change in vapor production cart or dripping.
  13. The bottles with the fruit on the label can also be bought as Rocky Mountain Vapor. I have had really good luck with their flavors/liquid. Prices are good too.
  14. No personal experience with hair growing back--but it does make some sense. Smoking is a vasoconstrictor. It slows the blood to all parts of our bodies--skin, and head would be included. I noticed when I smoked that my hands/fingers were colder than they are now. Happy Vaping (and happy hair growth)
  15. Most of us had the pass the ritual of the 'learning curve'. Vaping is so much different from smoking--our brains have a hard time sorting the difference. Don't get rid of the Menthol just yet--if you add a couple drops (or more if needed) to you flavors, it really adds to the flavor without tasting like Menthol. I was never a Menthol smoker, but have found I love it with all my flavors (just a little). Mixing flavors is one of the best parts of vaping--an addiction all by itself. The creation combinations are endless !!!! happy Vaping
  16. Possibly from the amount of Nicotine intake--may try cutting your liquid a bit with glycerin and see if that improves your headaches. I do notice I get headaches when I have been vaping more than normal. Drinking extra liquid seems to help a bit also.
  17. All I can say is I love my VP-PT--that being said I don't own any of the others. I do notice a bit of a drop in power when I am using the USB--Laptop. The VP-PT cord is plenty long enough to reach an outlet. Happy Hunting
  18. I have tried many different fillers and I always end up going back to the fluval. cheap and easy to use. wicks well and last. even at 5 volts I don't have any trouble. With the 510 I also use the straw mod. no matter which way you go--just don't pack the filler too tight--decreases wicking. We all have our personal preferences, There is no one answer. Happy vaping
  19. Sorry not much help here--my weapon of choice is the 510 and the VP-Passthrough--both known for their throat hit. I have heard very good things about the 901's for flavor. I am certain somebody with more experience will be along soon enough
  20. Initially when we stop smoking (after all the withdrawal stuff)--we notice the obvious changes. For me it was the cough I have had for the last couple of years--sounded liked I was going to cough up a lung, now I rarely cough. Over time the underlying parts of our systems start to heal--lung tissue regenerates, circulation improves, heart damage etc. We get the benefit of short term and long term benefits.
  21. The one I use for my 510 passthrough--doesn't work for my VP-PT--when I plug it in--nothing happens, no light, no nothing--I'm thinking not enough power...
  22. I am really glad you new flavors have arrived. That should keep you going for a bit. When I first started I used the Marlboro 18mg mixed with just a bit of menthol--still one of my favorites. I actually add a little menthol to all my flavors--really adds a boost. Once you really start vaping--you won't want real tobacco flavor--vaping tobacco flavors are much, much nicer
  23. Happy soon to be birthday !!!! I need one for each room in the house !!!
