So, recently for some reason the threading on my silverbullet ate **** and now wont hold cartomizers in place. If anyone had this problem before is there any way to replace it/fix it myself or should I just look into buying a new top piece/getting it repaired? I've recently been using ego twists (love em), but tend to vape LR at around 4v so they drain pretty fast. Any new slick mods on the market or tips to save my poor SB?

my cartomizers have been tricking me recently, seems after i run them through hot water and blow them out quick and refill, instead of refilling constantly, the flavor is back to normal. I think its all the mush and crap that gets stuck in there

you can move up to an ego or kgo kit, which is bigger than the cigarette style volts. The Volts (kr808 styl batteries) are the best stick style ecigarettes i think, i use em for my portables. I got their PCC to fix the battery life issue. All ecigs have that sucking in air type deal, because its what you're doing basically , there has to be air holes for flow. If you want to upgrade for more battery life you can try the next step up, they are bigger batteries than the cigarette style volts though. Kgo runs at true 3.7v, you can get one of those at various places. If you want better hits and such you can try upgrading to a mod and try running at above 3.7v, (i think the volt is a 3.6v). Mods are much bigger though so it might depend on your preferences. If you don't want upgrade to something bigger, you can always try using higher 70%+VG e-liquid in your cartomizers for your Volt, they will produce more vapor. You can also move to a low resistance cartomizer, I use the boge kr808 cartomizers. If you can't find them anywhere I buy my boge 808 cartomizers from sweet-vapes, they also have a nice eliquid selection where you can select you VG%. ps: oh yeah, and to try to get rid of the "airy" hits, try covering some of the air holes with your fingers when you inhale

im not exactly sure about the ego either, I know on altsmoke forums, lots of people run 1.25-1.5v ohm at various voltages 3.7-6v on the SB.

i dont think theres any way you can possibly blow dual coils unless u run them at ridiculous voltage. Some people run 1.5-2ohms at 5-6v cuz of the warm throathit and have no problems with the coils popping. You can do those with Dual Coils because of the design. Anyways, I use dual coil cartomizers, I dont shop at many places but I get my clear smoktech XL 1.5 DCC's from sweet-vapes, and I get shorty DCC's from madvapes (they are as tall as boge cartos). the 1.7 smoktek ressurectors are the best right next to the boge ones that ive experienced. I order my 1,7 smok techs from madvapes, and the boges are basically the same all over I think. What voltage are you vaping them at? and what specific PV or PV's are you using them on? Im just trying to get all the info because I honestly can say that cartomizers are the easiest types Ive been through, clearomizers/atomizers have given me more trouble. Also what specific types of e-liquid are you using in them, VG/PG ratio, flavor etc. There are some liquids that kill cartos much faster than others. The only things I can think of are 1: You might be flooding the cartomizers, if it seems like it gurgles or you get juice splashing up into your mouth when you inhale, its too flooded, you can remedy this by just blowing through the entire thing into a napkin , getting rid of the excess juice. 2: You are using too thick of a juice that doesnt wick all the way to the coils, when it looks like its 'filled' with VG juice it actually isnt, it just takes a bit more to absorb. The way I fix this is just drip a bit inside, blow through the carto til the top of the filler doesnt look soaked, then drip more, etc keep on doing it. my 1.7 I usually drip maybe 1-1.5 ml inside and vape directly after. 3: You could be getting a bad batch of cartos, but by the looks of it seems like you have bud luck with msot cartos you do. 4: It could actually be the specific juice you're using, there are juices some people call 'carto killers' which usually just kills a carto on the first fill because of how much additives it has to it, the residue builds up on the coils and in the filler so much it becomes clogged faster than usual. also the 1.5-2.0 ohm cartos should be used around 3.7v for best vapor, I'm not exactly sure but if you use something that low in OHM's on a 5v+ device , unless its dual coil cartos, you will fry the carto. The cartomizers alone, minus the tank, should be the easiest ones to use. I personally dont use tanks much so I cannot help you on how to use a cartomizer within a tank. But I can tell you cartomizers alone shouldn't be giving you that much of a problem.

well, i wasnt talking about clones in that sense lol, there are some lookalike lavatubes that are cheaply put together of two pieces of palstic instead of a solid tube, and the internals/switches kind of suck on them. Never heard of the torpedo though, but if the reviews are all good then id say go for it. I actually went for the silver bullet myself, it is pretty solid and clean looking for my taste, dropped it a couple times never chipped, I use the Nimh batteries when i want to vape at 5v, and the 18650s for 3.7v vaping, but VV is still nice. I was gona say Lavatube mod for 55$ with everythign included doesnt really sound like the genuine lavatube, might be just some knockoff clone. There are a bunch of mods out there that look like the lavatube but are very poorly made, I think PBusardo did a recent review on a lavatube clone that was around that price range with everything attached, and it blew complete *** and stopped working during his review lol
