  1. I wouldn't be so sure about him wanting to direct drip. I tried it for a few weeks and decided it was too big a hassle to do it and switched to carts that I fill w/ my own juice. AND if he's blind, it will make DD much more of a hassle
  2. I don't plan on blowing it right in the thing, but I'm glad to know that it will set the things off at least. I guess that would make it real risky to do in those small airplane lavatories? Those bedrooms on the train I hope are big enough where if I do blow it down, it won't do anything, and if I can crack the window, that would make it totally fine.
  3. I got my Spade today also, and it does vape good, but I wish it looked more sleek, because I'm thinking in public people are going to think this is some drug pipe, like the guy who posted he was using his VP2 in a drive thru and they all started saying he was "smoking dope" I honestly could care less what anyone else thought, but I don't want to be explaining this stuff to the cops or be detained because of this, that would really suck! This morning when I leave for New Orleans I'm going to take it, and my 510 and my kissbox, but I will try to use only the kissbox or 510 out in public, and use the Spade only in private. Unless however I stay out real late and those two run out of batt. I love how people think the Kissbox looks like a fountain pen. When you have it in your mouth, people just think you are chewing on a pen. That is what I had hoped the Spade would have looked like. I do wish they could develop a small batt with good life, how hard is that in this day and age of small electronics?
  4. I've also done it in the waiting room and inside the exam room. I did it this past Tuesday, and when the doctor came in I had just exhaled a lot of vapor and he said Nothing. I had told him before about it and he said it was okay so I guess he figured it out. In the wait room, I did it next to a deputy sherif, and he nor anyone said anything. I just got my Spade today, and w/ that thing I'm worried about it looking like I'm doing drugs! I mean this thing does sort of look like a crack or meth pipe! What do I say, or do. I would hate to have a run in w/ an ignorant cop, and being I will be in New Orleans tomorrow night in the quarter where there are a lot of cops, I just don't know. My Kissbox isn't working worth a damn, so I will have to rely mainly on the spade, since it produces vapor like a 510 but longer.
  5. I get tired of it too, but mainly when the thing isn't producing enough vapor or I suck juice or some issues like that. But, yea I guess I do.
  6. Hi, Tomorrow morning 8:30am, I'll be taking Amtrak to New Orleans. Its been a long time since I've taken the train, so I have some questions, mainly about e-cig smoking, if anyone knows. I've booked a bedroom on the train, and what I want to know is if there are smoke detectors in those cabins? I sort of think they might be, and if they are, can anyone tell me their experiences Vaping around smoke detectors, either in a plane bathroom or on a train near one. I've heard VERY MIXED REPORTS about vaping around smoke detectors. One guy (I think smoking-man) said a long time ago he works or used to work on these machines and said they measure air density and therefore they would go off because vapor also changes air density, BUT I've also read reports from others claiming to have Vaped inside the airplane restroom successfully. So, does anyone know FOR SURE on this subject. I really don't want to be setting off the damn thing! Another point is that this bedroom on the train is the larger one, the ones that have a shower and bathroom in them and sleep 3 people, although I'll be alone. But considering they are much larger than a plane lavatory, that should help a little. AND if anyone knows whether those windows on trains will open, can you Please tell me? If those open then I don't think it will be a problem at all. I don't really think I'll have a problem tomorrow, but I might run into some jerk acting like a jerk, so I would like to be prepared. Please let me know, I'll be checking here later tonite and in the morning before I leave for the station.
  7. The dragons work for a little while, then as my experience with them goes, out of the blue, the atty starts heating up, heating up to the point of glowing red. Then it either will finally go out on its own, or you can unscrew the batt. Either way, the thing is DEAD. They replaced two of them already for me, but I certinaly will NEVER buy another one of those crappy things. So far the only really decent e-cig I've had is the Kissbox. But even with those, often the switches it uses goes bad. I've even had 2 bad batteries come with a kit! The VP1 used to be allright, but those awful chinese blue batts are the worst. I just ordered that new one on Vapor talks store that $99 it uses a 510 atty and the batt supposedly lasts 5 hours, and the batt is silver, but probably still from china and will go out in a couple months max. I had hoped for better with the VP1, but as long as any of them use crappy batts, they will end up going dead quick. The regular 510's batteries go out in a hour and half max. The 901's are better batt, but the cart they use doesn't hold decent amounts of juice, which worries me about this new one I ordered that uses a 510 part. If I will have to use one of the regular 510 filters, they definitely don't hold more than 3 drops of juice, and I don't like direct dripping. One thing about both the VP1 and the Kissbox is that they both use really really good carts. Someday, somebody has GOT to come up with a better device. I"ve spent over a grand on these things and still can't find a decent one!
  8. I'm just curious as to why no one offers Vegtable glycerin VG as an option to PG. I personally don't like PG as it agrivates my mouth. I went to Johnson Creek tonight and ordered a 3 pack of LOW PG juice (THEY just started this option) But they don't sell a VG based nicotine juice. I had seen a youtube video of a old guy using VG and snoosh (A tobacco in a tiny little pocket) and he soaked the snoosh in the VG and then put the snoosh inside an empty filter cart, and he got very good vapor and claimed a good taste. I ordered some snoosh a while back, but just tonight ordered some VG. Its very very cheap, 5 bucks for a decent size bottle (5 or 8 ounces i think) It just seems odd, especially with the FDA finding issues with PG, that someone doesn't come out with a BETTER Juice. How hard could it be? Its bad enough that the FDA might ban e-cigs due to it being a nicotine delivery system, but if they can find a way to ban the juice, you bet they will ban it, and they probably are going to anyway the way things look. BUT if someone would come up with a totally harmless liquid to add to nicotine that would work in the e-cigs, I think it would fly off the shelves, and if it could pass FDA testing, it would be great for everyone. Maybe there are issues with VG I'm not aware of, tell me if you know them, but even if there are problems with VG, how hard would it be to create a systemwide stable e-cig juice that contains nothing harmful at all in it. OR anything contriversial except nicotine???
  9. Hi, I've been looking for spare parts for my 2 kissboxes for a while now. DIetsmokes has been out of the atty's forever, and most of the batts too. In fact the only thing I think he has in stock now is the expensive $138 extended kit, which I don't want to have to get. ANyone know where I can buy some Kissbox parts at?
  10. Although I haven't had anything "bad" happen to me lately, I've been in one terribly bad mood for a couple of weeks! I get really short tempered and little things upset me to no end. The one time on my cruise while outside a crewmember who thought I was smoking an anolog and told me I was in the no smoking section. I went ballastic on him! I got up in his face and told him "does this look like a damn cigarette" when he said no, I said then get the F away from me and never bother me again. While I usually always tend to be overly demanding with service industry people, lately I've gone overboard. (Wonder if it might have something to do with my stopping my Antidepressant, Wellbutrin) Anyway, I hope this all passes with me, and everyone else!
  11. I don't think it is AirTrans policy to ban E-Cigs, the FA simply told me she saw a FDA memo about it. However I certainly don't think the pilot would turn the plane around from the taxi way if you were to vape. Even if you lit a cigarette and said it was by accident (like sort of automatically starting to smoke after a meal or w/ a drink) I think even then, you could simply apologize, and the FA would probably not even alert the pilot. Now if you were being a jack *** about it (or anything for that matter) then thats another story. I think a lot of how you get treated has to do with how you present yourself. As far as vaping in the restroom, I thought a member on HERE who said he was some type of electrician said that smoke detectors went off due to air density changes, and that e-cigarettes caused the same air density change as a cigarette. Although I question whether or not that is entirely true due to the large number of people online reporting Vaping successfully in a lavatory on a plane. If I knew for sure the damn thing wouldn't go off I would do it in a heartbeat in the lavitory, considering it won't produce any lingering odor, and you aren't endangering anyone by lighting a match or using a lighter. I would really like someone on here to give us a for sure answer on this smoke detector going off with juice vapor. I think I'll buy a new one soon and blow it directly in it and see if it goes off. Most of them in the past were way too sensative and would go off even if smoking on the sofa and they were 30 feet away.
  12. I think that's great, but its a SHAME that even in Greensboro NC, (where I assume this happened since its listed as where you are) I guess those A-hole anti's couldn't even leave poor NC alone in their quest to stamp out smoking (And E-Smoking if they get their way) not only across every single state in the US, but the ENTIRE World as well. The restaurants in my area have been non-smoking for years. A month or so ago, My mother and I went into Steak and Shake. I didn't bother asking, I just started using my e-cig. My mother was convinced people were looking at me, but I was oblivious to it. When a waitress started to walk over (my mother thinking she was coming to our table) and walked by, my mother grabbed her and told her what they were. The waitress was interested, but never tried stopping me from using it. I use a Kissbox, so mine doesn't light up or look at all like an analog, so that may be one reason I've never been hassled anywhere before. Like I said when I posted about using this thing on a cruise ship and in San Juan, I feel one key in not getting hassled is NOT asking permission. If you ask, a regular employee really can't answer you if they've never heard of them before. IF they ask a manager, then that person has to think whether or not it might be illegal or not and probably wanting to stay safe, might say NO. I think its just best to do it without asking, unless you know in advance they have a policy against it, Like on planes (which a Flight attendant told me the FDA recently banned inflight)
  13. Hi All, I've decided to post and let everyone know about the experiences I had while I was on my vacation from November 15th, thru November 24th I went on this trip with my mother and father and we flew out of Atlanta. We parked our car at the Airport Clarion Hotel and took the shuttle bus to the terminal. While on the shuttle bus, there was an AirTran Flight attendant (we were also flying AirTran) so I decided to ask her about E-cigs. She told me that she recently read a memo from the FDA saying that they were banning them in-flight. She told me she didn't have any specific information on them and couldn't remember the details of the memo other than they were not allowed. When we all arrived at the airport, I vaped all the way thru checking the bags in and waiting in the security line. No one ever said anything to me and I never pay attention to whether anyone is looking at me from a distance or not so I don't know if anyone was talking about it or not if they did notice something. I also vaped while waiting to get on the plane. I decided not to try and vape on the plane because for one, someone was seated next to me I didn't know, and because of what the other flight attendant had told me. I also didn't try it on the return air flight either due to the same reasons. IF there had been an empty seat next to me, I definitely would have discretely vaped though not producing a lot of vapor. The cruise was for seven nights and left out of San Juan, stopping in St. Thomas, Tortola, St. Lucia, Antigua, and Barbados. During the entire cruise, I vaped everywhere I went without any problem at all. I vaped at the dinner table in the main dining room, and even in the elevators with people in them. I also vaped at the resort I went to and hung out all day in Antigua as well. I think one of the main reasons no one ever said a thing to me about vaping was because I didn't produce a lot of vapor when I vaped and I also think you have a much better chance at having no issues if you do it with the attitude of I'm not doing anything wrong. I think its a mistake to always ask people permission since what we are doing does NOT cause any problems for other people. Vaping does not produce any 2nd hand smoke, and there is no odor or residue left on materials. There was only ONE TIME during the entire 7 night cruise that one person said something to me. I was vaping in the non-smoking area on the pool deck beside the windows. The crew-member who said something I'm pretty sure thought I was smoking a regular cigarette when He approached me. I actually sort of got really pissed off at him because I thought to myself, even if I was smoking an analog, I was outside afterall, and I wasn't bothering anyone. So when he said something to me, I didn't take it very well. I made sure to let him know it wasn't a cigarette and that I was NOT smoking. He apologized and then went on his way. Other than that I never heard a word from another crew member OR a passenger thru out the entire cruise. When we arrived back in San Juan, we went to the Ritz Carlton hotel. Because Ritz is part of Marriott's chain, its US and Caribbean hotels are also Non-Smoking. Again, I vaped everywhere. in my room, in the club lounge, by the pool in my lounge chair, and even at the front desk checking in. Still, no one said anything to me even when I know for sure they could tell I was inhaling some type of smoke. I guess all they knew was it wasn't tobacco or a cigarette and as such, said nothing. I was very happy with the POSITIVE EXPERIENCE I had on this trip with regard to vaping.
  14. I'm adopted, so there's nothing running in the family on this. Plus with others experiencing this effect, I think we all really need to admit this is a potential problem/issue AND that if we are ever going to get national attention or acceptance, it better be something that is easily rectified. If its the PG causing this problem, can VG be used effectively? The juice that I threw away which seemed to be the most irritating was NOT Johnson Creek, I'm pretty sure this juice was made in China, in fact I even stated I thought it might have been a juice I placed with a direct china E-Cig order. I hate the fact that this happened. These things have helped me quit smoking outright, and I know if I stop using these, I'll go back to analogs in a second. I've just started to enjoy being able to vape virtually anywhere I go now, so to have to quit is something I definitely don't want to happen. I think I'm going to send an email to one of the USA juice suppliers and tell them about my experience and see what they say? Surely with as many people on here having experienced this, or something similar, they will have some answers. I remember a a month or two ago seeing a youtube video if this guy who used snoosh (a pre-packaged mini tobacco from Sweden) soaked in Vegetable Glycerin inside an empty cart of a Kissbox. He said it produced a satisfying vapor AND that if ever a ban were to come about, this would get around it. (Whether thats true or not, I don't know, I'm only repeating what the guy said) I actually ordered some snoosh after I saw this video, but I have yet to buy any VG and try it. Although with this problem occurring, I'm definitely going to be ordering me some VG this week!
  15. OF COURSE WE DON'T SHARE THE SAME E-CIG! I've actually got about 4 different models and a total of 20 just for myself ALONE. I change filters every 2 days. I do know that one particular juice I had when I used it, my mouth would be sore all over. It came in a dark brown glass bottle and used the eye dropper with a black rubber end. I can't remember if that particular juice came from China, or if I got it from here as I threw it out about a week ago. I'm wondering if maybe I can switch to VG instead of the PG and maybe that will help. Considering that at least a few of you guys have also experienced something similar, I'm surprised we haven't heard more on this, and a way to avoid it or something. My fluid intake has not changed at all since I've been vaping.
  16. hi guys, I'm wondering if any of you have experienced a sore mouth from Vaping? I'm thinking that it could have something to do with the juice getting into my mouth or on my tongue. Sometimes I've even noticed that on my tongue or on the inside of my cheek, I'll get what feels sort of like a cold sore, BUT its on the INSIDE of my mouth, not the outside as in the case of a cold sore but it feels sort of raw and hurts. It will go away, then it will come back in a few weeks. Whats odd is that my mother and uncle who vape also, have mentioned the same thing, and I didn't mention my situation until they had told me first. Thats too much of a coincidence I think for it just to be random which is why I'm wondering if anyone else has had anything similar happen.
  17. Hi Everyone. I'm onboard the Caribbean Princess now, but I'll post specifically about that separately in another post. Before the Macbook Pro I spilled the juice in, I had another Macbook Pro 17", the version Just below the unibody. It kept having constant screen problems and I had sent it in like 4 times for warranty (I had purchased their extended warranty )repair work (ALL covered, and I smoked 2 packs a day of analogs then) when it finally messed up again and I sent it in the rep I spoke with said that because of so many problems on the same issue they would replace for free my macbook pro with a brand new one. He offered me another 17" Macbook Pro, OR a 15" Macbook Pro Unibody (This was right when they came out with these but were still yet to be selling the 17" Unibody) so I accepted the 15" Unibody Pro, this was back in Jan 09 I think. When the new macbook pro 15" unibody arrived, I thought my 3 year extended warranty that I had bought from apple on the 17" one that broke, would carry over to the new one, but it doesn't work that way I found out. So, what happend is I was at my laptop working and was trying to fill a cart with some juice that came out of a bottle that used a glass dropper, and some of that juice dropped down onto the keyboard and I saw it as it leaked into the cracks around the keys, and after a while the caps started to stay on, then I couldn't backspace, so I called mac, they said I had only 1 month left on the 1 year parts and labor warranty that came with it new. So when Apple called to tell me that "due to testing, they found "high levels of nicotine" inside the computer" I am pretty sure it was the juice since they repaired my prior Macbook pros every time 4 times or more when I smoked non stop next to it and said nothing. As everyone knows, nicotine itself as a drug is poisonous and can be absorbed directly from contact with the skin, I can see why they might have an issue, but really, its over and above being ridiculous for Apple to start telling all smokers that basically their warranties don't apply to them because they smoke! I do think its definitely possible sometime in the very NEAR future for some rogue company to make that stand with some electronic item, just to get out of honoring their warranties, and then other companies following suit and even writing it into their warranties. You guys know that if any of these big Anti groups like the American Lung association were to think of it and start spreading more lies and fairy tails about 2nd hand smoke and the way they are now talking about the NON EXISTENT 3rd hand smoke, its not that far fetched to think they could start saying that if you smoke while next to your laptop, that warranties are voided because you are intentionally exposing the workings to nicotine and thereby putting repair techs lives at risk by exposing them to the "DEADLY" nicotine levels that are a by product of cigarette smoke and even putting their "children at risk" of because the tech then went home and tucked his newborn baby in bed. Remember everyone, we've GOT TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN!!
  18. First I want to let everyone know I havent been on this forum in a while. What initially happened is that I spilled juice into the keyboard of my Macbook Pro, it was less than a year old. I sent it back to Apple to try to repair it since it was still under warranty, and then they call me and tell me that they found HIGH levels of NICOTINE on or in it and they couldn't work on it due to some hazordous rule. She said to take it to an authorized dealer and have them work on it, although she didn't say it would be covered. I just bought a Macbook Air and will deal with it later because I found out that if I do have to pay, it will cost around 750. On this mac, I keep my keyboard cover on at all times. Be aware that if any of you do send your laptop off for repair then wipe it down with some type of computer spray. (although I'm probably the only one stupid enough to drip near my computer) Also I'd like to say how good DietSmokes has been with me over the 2 kissboxes I bought from them. These are made by Janty but I've already had a couple switches go out, a USB PassThru, and 2 DOA batteries. At first we had some initial minor misunderstandings but Parked at DietSmokes really came thru last week when he UPS Overnighted for Saturday delivery a lot of what I needed and the rest arrived Next day air on Monday. So he WILL stand by his products and deal with you honestly and fairly. I'm going on a weeklong Caribbean Cruise this Sunday (11/15/09) and I'm definitely going to use the e-cig, so I'll report back to what various reactions I'll get!
  19. The dragons/401's I have came with manual batteries. Maybe I wasn't clear about how they burned out. My mother had been vaping, and had sat it down on a table, then she noticed it was smoking, she called me over to see it andI picked it up and the light was on and the atty had turned fire red. There was no noise or anything. Then yesterday, same thing, there wasn't enough warning where you could screw off the atty because it was too hot to touch. Bottom line is i just think they are a piece of junk. I checked and truesmoker says nothing I can find on their website about returns. BUT generally speaking, if you buy something from a store and it breaks, usually you can get a refund or exchange within 30 days. Most everyone offers a 30 day warranty if not much more. Since its been only like 3 weeks, I want a refund. We still have another entire kit, so its not like they didn't make any moeny off me.
  20. Between the 510,901,401,801. But so far my favorite is the Kiss Box. I'm not sure but I think its basically a type of the 801 model, because the 801 atty's do fit it, but the batteries don't. Anyway, I've been trying to find out where I can buy replacement Janty kiss box brand supplies. I would like a few atty's and batt's. But every place I go is virtually out of stock on them. The "only" place I've found is Diet Smokes, they have the kits and an extra batt in silver in stock, but on the rest of the accessories they are out of stock,a nd that's what I'm running into all over the net? Did they discontinue this model? Does anyone know if I can order direct from China? The couple of places that advertise the Kiss Box are all out of stock and I've set it up to be notified when they get stock, but that's been 2 weeks and not a word from anyone. Any help will be appreciated.
  21. I think I've mentioned I bought my mother 2 Dragon/401 kits from Truesmoker. Well, last week all of a sudden the light on the battery wouldn't go out and it heated up the atty terribly. To the point it was glowing "red" Then finally it went out, but of course its totally ruied. Well yesterday the SAME THING happend again with the other one. Since she I bought her 2 kits, she still has one however but this is very odd with it happening on two of them. This can't be an isolated incidence. I think I'll post this also on the other chat forum and see what people say. I contacted TRUE SMOKER about this and said I wanted to return the kit with the 2 burned out atty's and batts for a REFUND. Well they emailed back saying they would exchange the parts. I don't want an exchange because I've still got another kit from them. Its been UNDER 30 days also. What do you all think I should do? I've also gotten pretty dissapointed with the dragon this past week anyway. It's not working nearly as well as it used to. (I know this because my mother was complaining to me that it wasn't drawing very good, so I tested it for her) But then this overheating mess happens with two of them, that's really odd. I suppose I could dispute the charge with my credit card company, but I would rather this be worked out with the supplier and they simply refund my money, afterall I'm not returning both kits, just the one with the 2 burned out attys and ruined batt.s So, please give me all your opinions on the matter.
  22. i'm SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS, AND ITS ALSO GREAT NEWS FOR OUR COUNTRY. THIS WILL SHOW OTHER LEGISLATORS WHO TRY TO GO IN ALL NILLI WILLHI AND GET ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN BANNED JUST BECAUSE THEIR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP DOESN'T LIKE THEM. i HOPE THE WOMAN WHO'S ULGY MUG PIC YOU HAD UP HERE WAS SCWIRMING IN HER SEAR. i COULD SAY A LOT MORE ABOUT THAT WENCH, BUT YOU WOULD PROBABLLY HAVE TO REMOVE MY COMENT IF i DID. I HOPE NOW COOLER HEARDS WILL RULE FOR THE REST OF THE TIME NEEDED TO GET THESE PROPERLY TESTED AND REGULATED!!! CHRIS
  23. Hi all, I am taking my parents on a cruise this December in the Caribbean. I'm debating either taking an 11 night cruise on Celebrity Cruises departing from San Juan and stopping on a lot of Caribbean Islands, to either a 7 Day Cruise on Princess Cruises departing out of Ft. Lauderdale and stopping on Caribbean Islands as well, but just not as many. the air fares I found are about the same to either destination. At this point I'm totally up in the air on deciding? Celebrity is owned by Royal Caribbean and as such their smoking policy on board is somewhat strict. NO Smoking in stateroom or Balcony, no smoking in dining room OR even in the casino. Princess Cruises from the info I have found is a lot less restrictive and more relaxed. I believe you can still smoke on Balconies and in your stateroom as well as in the Casino. Both lines I believe have set smoking and non-smoking ares's in the bars and on deck and by the pool While as of yet I still have "not' returned back to analog cigarettes, I still would feel annoyed every day if I were to start vaping and every 15 minutes be explaining to some nosy busybody that I'm not smoking but instead just releasing a harmless vapor (And then if they do know about e's,to inform them "really" what they are like). I would LOVE to be able to vape after dinner in the Dining room but know almost with certainty that if I insisted I would no doubt be confronted by both passengers and staff if I did, and as a result might even cause them to say I had to observe analog rules to a TEE if I vaped. How do you all think I should handle it? I'm DEFINITELY going to vape in my room no matter the analog policy because no one can smell it! Does anyone have any cruise experience with either of these lines? I"ve only been on 1 cruise in my past and that was on Crystal Cruise which is a super-Luxe cruise line, and that was almsot 1o years ago thru the Panama Canal. I'd be interested in your opinions on vaping in public? should I do it in non-smoking area's of the ship? How do you feel about my decision to Vape in my cabin? I have gotten my mother to switch from Analogs to E-Cigs as well, and I think thats a real positive thing. she's smoked for over 50 years, still totally healthy, but I'm glad she has switched.
  24. I only hope they decide they want to regulate e-juice and/or e-cigs, that way we can still have them. But I would still bet a lot of people would want to include them in the tobacco bans due to the fact they "look" like smoking. Some people are just such idiots. THE ANTI-TOBACCO RECIPE FOR SUCCESS 1. Choose an industry. 2. Regulate the industry. 3. Tax the industry. 4. Sue the industry. When one source of money dries up, return to Step 1 and repeat
  25. Custom, I think you are making a good choice! I've got the 510,901, the dragoon, the super mini, and I myself also ordered a VP1 (should be here tomorrow) I'm really excited about it. For one, I'm actually going to like the fact that its bigger thatn other e-cigs. I've already probably lost one or two batts and one or two atty's from the combined e-cig kits I have. These thing are so small they are hard to keep track of. With the VP1, its a solid piece of equipment.
