Joye Atomizers Metallic Taste...
TheSmokingMan replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You know, I really like Keenan, he's OK for a Yankee, so I'll leave this one alone! Besides that he just made VIP today, so Congratualtions, Keenan! -
I kind of had the same argument with my mother the other day, she said "Well, it still has nicotine in it and you'll get cancer"! I told her that I've been smoking 4004 chemicals for 25 years, 53 of which are carcinogens and I cut down to 5 chemicals, neither of which are carcinogens, nicotine does not cause cancer, it is not carcinogenic, it's the rest of the crap in cigarettes that causes cancer. Some people see smoke and assume there's fire!

I had and have then had and have a couple of guys that work(ed) off and on and on and off for me that are from Minnesota and they say it's bloody cold up there.

You'll love the the way the VP vapes, hope you and your brother can stay off the smokes. Vaping has replaced it for me, I went for two hours today in a meeting with nothing but coffee, that is a first since I was in grade school!

I knew before I got mine that it didn't have the screw. I thought the the hole was just a dead end, where does it draw it's air from? Through the holes for the LED? If I over drip and it seeps down will it get into the compartment where the LED is?

We got rid of our land lines four years ago. Our cell phones work well here and I never know where I'll be. I have 5 cell phones on my bill and it's under 350.00 per month with T-Mobile. I never drop a call and I have unlimited everything on every phone except Internet access. I also have a fax number through them that is permanently forwarded to my efax number for faxes although I'm thinking of getting rid of that as most of my customers use email and I only get three or four faxes a year now. Verizon has the land lines out here and they suck and are way over priced it's 80 bucks a month for a line and we had three to start with, one for the house, one for the business and one for the fax/computer. Then we got cable one day, they just showed up and strung lines all the way down here and now I have cable Internet 10meg down and 756k up, and no phone lines for 70 bucks a month. I know that it's not the 50/50 that Chris has in California but I can watch movies on netflix and surf the net at the same time and that's good enough for me! My daughter has an iPhone! -
Although not a Libertarian, I am a supporter of Ron Paul and have been for many years. I think that he is one of the few in Congress that "gets it", he understands what is happening. It is important that we return to the Gold Standard and abolish the Federal Reserve, but as Treasurer the only thing he could do to Get Us Out Of The UN is to cut their funding. I feel that this is one of the gravest dangers that threatens the sovereignty of the US. Now we have something greater to worry about and that is what P'BO will do in Stockholm in December that could create a world government with more power than the UN all in the name of "Protecting The Planet" As for Colin Powell, I really wasn't much of a political person during the first Gulf War and didn't follow him much throughout his career, therefore I don't have any opinion of him. I would like to see someone with the intestinal fortitude of George Patton as Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs.

I am an electrician, I have installed a few "alternative" systems that included lots of DC batteries, not to say that I am an expert, I'm not. I can however, theorize as to why the VP units or mods, create more or better vapor. The atomizer is a resistive heater, a loaded or controlled direct short, using a smaller or lesser mAh (milliamp hour) battery one would see dramatic voltage "drop off" when connected to a load such as an atomizer rather than a load like a radio or something like that. It is the same principal as what causes your lights dim when your air conditioner compressor comes on, it generally means that the service entrance wires are too small for the house and they can't handle the in-rush of current and the resistance goes up rapidly, starving the system for voltage. Voltage drop is much more dramatic when dealing with DC than with AC. The bigger battery provides a greater mAh supply to draw from thus allowing the voltage to stay constant. Yes I realize that mAh is not the voltage its the current, but having a greater amount of current in reserve will keep the voltage from dropping. Same reason you can't start a car with 8 double A batteries wired in series to produce 12 volts, there is not enough current to sustain the voltage for more than a split second. If this is confusing, I'm sorry, I haven't researched it, as I said I am theorizing. Maybe Jeso can answer this more gracefully than I, he is more knowledgeable about the technical details of his own creation. If the Chinese built one with a battery as big as VaprLife's even if the quality wasn't there it would probably work as well for a short period of time. And through he came, so beautifully!

Joye Atomizers Metallic Taste...

What the... who ever heard of washing a frying pan? That's crazy, I have frying pans from my Great Grand Mother and they haven't been washed in since the early 1900's, and man do they fry up some mean yard bird! -
Joye Atomizers Metallic Taste...

Of course I have to say something here. I have had a problem for the past two days, but not like your having. At first I only noticed it when using...yep, I hate to say it, Vapor Talk Juice. I'll go wash my mouth out with soap in a minute. I am using only my VP2 and a 801LB (Low Bridge) from Arno. You said in another post that the Low Bridge attys were made by Joye after looking at the threads. That was yesterday, no wait, what is today..Tuesday. It was Sunday night/Monday morning the Vapor Talk Juice started having a metallic taste at the end. So today, (Monday night/Tuesday morning) I switched to AwesomeVapor.com juice it's now doing the same thing. It only does it at the end when the atty starts to get dry, when I first drip I get a few great drags and then a toasty metallic taste like copper and aluminum rods in a lemon experiment when we were kids. Does that help? or are we both crazy? -
I was going thru my email and I found this post from last week, I should have answered it then, sorry for the delay. I also have a VP2 and I took Chris' advice and purchased some "Low Bridge" 801 attys from AwesomeVapor.com, this thing now vapes like a house on fire, no kidding. Theses attys come with dummy carts and don't have the wadding in them like regular carts do. It is intended for you to purchase regular carts separately and use them in place of the dummy cart that comes with the atty. I don't use carts that have the wadding in them, I direct drip and have no need to hassle with the pre-filled carts. In order to direct drip you have to remove the dummy cart or mouthpiece from the atty, drip 3 or 4 drops of e-Juice straight from the bottle into the atty, try to get it in the center and not on the side. Replace the dummy cart or mouthpiece and vape. I normally get 8 to 12 great vapes until I start to taste this funny metallic burning taste, then I know that the atty is dry and it's time to repeat. I started out with a 510 Titan and a DSE901, then I bought a DSE801 and a 4081 or a "Super E" from Totally Wicked, they were all fine, but are nothing compared to a VP2 with a 801LB atty and direct dripping. So far, it's a vapers paradise for me. I'll probably try a VP3 when it comes out just to see what a 5 volt mod can do, but as it stands, I have found my "Sweet Spot".

I've been thru Georgia many times, it's pretty just like most of the South, although the Kudzu in certain areas has really gotten out of hand. -
Now we know what Lorena Bobitt was thinking!

Hey Jerry, glad you could join us, Welcome to Vapor Talk. I got off of the analogues about a month and a half ago and I really like this vaping thing. It has entirely replaced my smoking habit. Sometime after I eat I get a little twinge to have an analogue, so I will drip a higher nicotine formula in my e-Cig for a few rounds. Well, it's great to have you here. Welcome again to the forum. I have found everyone here real nice to spend time with, hope you like it too.

I think that the two on the right are charged! Just kidding, pretty cool, where did you route the cords?
-
This guy has been smoking since 1964, that's 4 years before I was even born and I thought I was a senior around here! I don't care how long I will have been smoke free, I'm not running up any stairs! At least not until I shed this extra thirty-three pounds and 4" and get back down to 132lbs and a 29" waist.
-
We're all cheering for you 10,000 miles away, can you hear us? Just kidding, good luck on trying to go the day without a cigarette, I have gotten to the point that vaping is a much more pleasurable experience than smoking.
-
Way to go on a month of no analogues! I have been on the e-Cig for almost two months and haven't gone down to zero Nicotine yet, I have been told in the past by my physician that it only takes two weeks for the body to break the nicotine addiction, the rest is psychological. I reaffirm what everybody says about you not being a smoker anymore, your not smoking your vaping which is only water vapor and not smoke. By the way, Welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum, were here to help, just ask!

I don't recommend replacement batteries from Totally Wicked. It may have been an isolated incident, I do not know, but... I purchased a 5 pack of replacement batteries for my DSE901 a few days after I received it from AwesomeVapor.com because their batteries were a little cheaper. Mistake! One of the (auto) batteries was stuck in the closed (On) position out of the package and another stuck in the closed (on) position and toasted an atty while I wasn't looking. The batteries that I received were marked with an "MP" (presumably for Multi Pack). They weren't the quality of batteries that I got from AwesomeVapor.com. Buyer be-aware!
