I Need Some Guidance In Picking The Right E-Cigarette
FTJoe replied to s4nt0s's topic in New Vapers Forum
Check the lounge, I don't want to continue an O/T post here. Also, I added the gif file to the post itself over there in case anyone is wondering what we are talking about. ;-) http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/1917-new-avatars/ -
Hi keenan - after browsing for a new avatar, make sure you press the 'save changes' button on the bottom before navigating away. That's the only thing I can think of (which is code for that I've done myself) that might mess you up. As I said, I've pasted the gif below which I assume is okay as it's in a single post and I have a disclaimer as well. Feel free to steal it, mouse over it right mouse button and save. Only works well when the forum you have it on has a white background. Please note, the pest seen below is not real, please do not spend any time or effort trying to kill it, it will live forever or at least until Christopher kills it.

No sweat - my fault for not reading the rules. I change avatars all the time, that's one of my favs. It drove me crazy every time I ran across it on other forums. Christopher was cool about it. -

Apologies to everyone, I was bad and didn't read the rules. The bug is annoying, isn't it? -

Going on the Xmas list. Thought I had to jump sooner but the lowbridge attys reco'd by Christopher are working great on my JanyStick now. So are the regular ones as well, I like the easy draw. Was sucking my old ones like there was no tomorrow. -
I'm out of control again. The stuff from Vermont Vapor is Great. I tried Choco-Mint and Mint, out of stock on menthol. I also have to find out how much PG is in these, some of the VtVapor liquids have PG. Seems thin like Johnson Creek but vapes well. Still no great throat hit but I do want to try the VG route. So now I've ordered a sampler of 3ml bottles, all different flavors, $3 a bottle 20mg nic but just for sampling. I figure I'll be down to 0 mgof nic soon, may as well give up the menthol ghost and try other flavors as well. Speaking of Johnson Creek, I just can't get rid of the fact that I like their mix, not sure how to describe it, smoky, creamy, tobaccoey (okay I made that up). Seems to be part of their base. So now I'm mixing the JC 0mg, menthol reduced PG with other menthol/Mint flavors. I got juice all over the place in my house...

I've always maintained that you shouldn't be surprised if the pharma have tons of lobby money going at the bans and government as well. Maybe even more. They have all the NRT (nicotine replacement therapies) and flat out drugs (welbutrin, and the latest drugs) that are used to help quit smoking.

I Need Some Guidance In Picking The Right E-Cigarette

Snarkyone has a sig line in regards to greencig. Here's their sig line: "GreenCig Vaper, I have tried the rest and found the best. It ain't hype if it's true. " I looked and saw they are basically cartomizers and look like real cigs so they have no interest to me, but maybe to you? So I would guess either try to contact snarky, or maybe go here for info or do a search? http://greenworldcig.com/default.aspx Here are snarky's posts: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_posts&mid=1426 You'll find several where snarky talks about the ecigs he has. I believe they are the KR808D-1 and/or GreenCig 220? Well that's enough guessing on my part, point is there are fans of the cigarette looking ecigs. -
Uh oh - you mean me? Remember, what works for some folks won't for others. In the end, if it were me I would still set a goal of not buying cigarettes anymore and have a realistic plan to do so. Remember, at this point in time you're replacing one horrible addiction with what many of us believe is a much safer one but an addiction none-the-less. I remember when I felt like having one, and I had 6 or so cigarettes left, I decided to see if vaping really got rid of the urge and it did. Did I still smoke the rest, yes I did. As someone else posted, it might not be exactly the same, and a cigarette might seem better to some folks, but I have to say I don't miss them anymore. Work with what you've experienced, you feel good after vaping, find another reward if you can other than having a cigarette. Having a cigarette as a reward, produces conflicted feelings, failure being one. Next comes "I just can't do it...I had one I might as well have more...I'm a failure, might as well keep smoking..." and so on. So just watch out for that, having said that, also keep an eye out for people you don't know giving advice!!! LOL Just do what works for you. And vaping definitely comes in handy when drinking. That's when I would smoke through a pack or even two. I've gotten 0 nicotine fluid for those times because there's really no need to have nic every ten minutes, that's just the mental addiction kicking in and the alcohol makes it impossible to ignore.

I have a Janty Stick-went from the 360mah to 500mah. What I've found is the vapor drops off after a little while with the 360mah, and takes a little longer to drop off with the 500mah. There's no such thing as a battery that just goes from fully charged to dead. There's a drop off and I believe that is in voltage as it drains. JMHO.

Jon - How you making out with the smoking? I didn't sign on until now but if I could offer any advice it's to not put yourself in a stressful situation like all day without having tried it before. Unlike "quitting" which comes with all sort of withdrawal issues, vaping is a really good substitute for both the mental and physical addictions. I simply found I really just didn't need to have a cigarette anymore. I first went out to dinner knowing I'd be back in a little while and had no problems, my cigarettes sat around for a little while, and I actually ended up smoking them the next morning just to get rid of them (I'm cheap). I always felt there's really no failure if you have a cigarette so if you do, that's okay as well, plenty of folks simply cut WAY down but still smoke. I stopped smoking completely because I feel vaping is a good enough substitute. Just so you know, I tried a cigarette a few weeks after quitting smoking and it was disgusting so I figure I'm down. Another benefit is you won't stink like an ashtray (Yeah!). My plan is to get to 0 nicotine and then just vape as needed for the mental addiction. Good luck!!!

The guys at http://www.wordupecig.com/ ship international but I guess that's not really the issue.

I figured I'd try some VG myself. Got three from wordupecig. Seems pretty good but the flavor does get a little lost but I like a lot of flavor. I wanted to see if my runny nose is due to PG or just regular allergies...Jeff from wordup is excellent, I think he's spent more money calling me to straighten some issues out (on my side) and answer questions than he could have made on my order. Excellent customer service. I tried one of their 801 attys and it started up really good so I'm sure they will be excellent as well and seemed to have an easy draw. Next up is some VG from VermontVapor, they offer VG and 0 nic. Props to Christopher on the awesomevapor recommendation for 801 "lowbridge" attys. They're excellent as well, I can drip into my Janty Stick now. Must have just been really bad luck with my first bunch as I can drip in the 801 from wordup as well.

Bill W...welcome and I couldn't agree more. Here's my take which is from a person who smoked forever. After 6 weeks of vaping I am pretty much down to minimal nic levels. Mostly Non (no nicotine) except I take some nic here and there. Mostly because one day I went 0 nic all day and I was snapping at my family. So I believe in a slow withdrawal. So the first goal is to kick nicotine altogether. I think I will accomplish this in another month or so. I am not going to rush this, I've never quit smoking more than a week before and its been 6 weeks now so it's a freakin' miracle. Nicotine takes something like 6-12 days to quit. The entire time, I plan to be fully vaping. Once the nicotine is done, then I'll start on the mental addiction. This is the toughest part to stop. This is where people lose it when they quit cigs. A year maybe even two go by, go to a bar, have a tough day, your brain wants a cigarette. Have one and the nicotine addiction kicks right back in. I've seen it and done it, "can I bum a butt?". Do it and you are done because your brain remembers the nic and will want some more. The 6-12 days you spent quitting nic is lost. So, second stage of the plan is to quit the vaping all day long. But I will always have it on me when I go to a bar, go to a party, a nice night out at a restaurant. I just can't see if I do this a couple of times a month to avoid having a cigarette as a bad thing. Will there come a point in time when I don't have to? I hope so. But will I jeopardize all of what I've done so far to go back because I'm not sure vaping is healthy? No. I was definitely entering COPD land, and now I can actually take deep breaths. Bottom line is I did research this and I remember a doctor pointing out that smoking is the act of inhaling something that is being burned. Forget about the tar, carcinogens, etc., you are inhaling smoke, this has to be better. So apologies for the long note, and I did have a few vodkas under my belt while writing, but this is my plan. I'll check back tomorrow to see if this post was idiotic. Good luck to you.

Welcome Jon!!! So being from Malaysia, can you order from the US or Europe or does it have to be the pacific rim? I had a bunch of problems with the 801s until I found a great place to order the attys (atomizers). The atomizer is the key. It is the part that cooks the juice and makes the vapor. Can I assume this is what you ordered? http://www.lightinthebox.com/Mini-Electronic-cigarette-DSE103-with-High-purity-Nicotine-Diluents-and-Efficacies-CE-and-RoHS-SGS--NEW--_p51149.html I can't speak to whether you got ripped off or not, but maybe someone else can comment on what the e-cig really is.

I went to the Janty Stick because I liked the better battery life and bigger atty. I started with the 510 and have that as my backup. Remember, things can go wrong so I travel with an extra battery, atty and tip for the stick, and the backup 510 battery atty and tip. I direct drip normally so just the tips are required not a real cart.
-
I know you weren't asking me...nevertheless my experience is I figure 1-2 analogues worth but I'm using a Janty Stick and I drip 3 drops. My 510 was two drops to reduce the risk of tasting juice, maybe one to two analogues? Direct dripping is awesome (I think I have a post with that title in it). My Janty was not working with direct dripping but now my new awesomevapor 801 attys are here and I'm back to direct. I still have blank carts available because it's just easier if I'm in the car or some place else where dripping is not convenient.
-
I have the stick, love it. http://usa.jantyworld.com/sets/-stick-set-/2857-janty-stick-set Normally takes an 801 atomizer though can be fitted with adapters to use other atomizers, 901, 510, etc. I believe that's what they are talking about, the adapter to fit the Dura atomizer is really the 510. This is a pic of the 510 adapter.

I just noticed I forgot the winky face next to this, it was supposed to be funny. Wanted to make sure snarky didn't think I was a complete jerk!!
-
So perhaps me leaving it in a shot glass for over a day was an issue? Some of the black and chrome finish started coming off. LOL. Next one that starts tasting bad I will try the "straw" method. Thanx
-
Hey - No matter what, if you are having any issues, shout them out, don't try to figure it on your own. People here are fantastic and VERY knowledgeable, they saved me from giving up (or at least from being really frustrated) at least three times. My limited experience says if you think you can do without a regular cigarette, then go for it. Also make sure you have extra attys and batteries available.
-
Trust me - I know it makes no sense, almost pure alcohol can't hurt something that's metal. I know that, yet...my attys are crud. I have to go with the theory that they are a consumable, now that I found attys that work great I can just dump them. Having said that, how exactly do you clean them?
-
Nevermind - I got my atty order from Awesomevapor. I'm rocking again. These attys are "awesome", I think I have the "low" one (better draw). I think I can drip now as well. I wonder if I actually killed my other attys by using everclear even while they were new? I thought they weren't working well so I dunked them for 24 hours. Yeah!!! I can throw out my original atty from my JantyStick that is definitely seen much better days. Though there is some sadness, I was going to use this as an excuse to get a VPx model, I guess that will wait until XMAS. Though it is funny how my wife alternates between "how much are you spending on this" to "thank god you're not smoking anymore, don't worry about it".
