Stealth vaping!! I do that too. BTW - I almost posted that same pic as my avatar...went with joker cat instead (for now). I guess I have to keep an eye out for who has what.
-
I actually everclear first then boil. I didn't like the everclear taste that stuck to the atty.
-
Heath Ledger played the Joker perfectly, the cat comes a close second. Why so serious? LOL I got in trouble once for an animated avatar, hopefully this one is okay...

But I grew up in the noobie area, it's where I like to hang!!! Oh well, guess I have to hang with the big boyz now... ;-)

Wow - nice and simple. So glad I ran across this now that I'm going back to my 510 and giving up on the JantyStick. It was easy, finding pens is the tough part!

Anybody Out There Using Linux

Funny - I've resisted that for so long but once my Dell mini 10V comes in a week, I'll probably put Ubuntu on it along with XP, Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. Speaking of Snow Leopard, I see you have an AMD processor, Snow Leopard supports Intel processors but I thought I saw some hacks for AMD out there in the Ether. Snow Leopard is sold as an upgrade for $29 at any Apple store, $5 cheaper online. I won't get into the ethics of it, there are arguments for and against loading it on a non-Mac machine. I had it up on a Gateway mini, but returned it because the 10V runs SL great right out of the box. So after all that, my answer is no...sorry. LOL http://www.ubuntu.com/ Also remember that you can still work with word, excel, etc. without paying MS a dime. http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#en-US Also funny (not) is my main home machine went down on me two weeks ago. Working with a backup to try and recover my 2 TB raid 5 array. I have four new 1.5 TB drive already here, waiting on my Dell server and will have it running Free NAS off a thumb drive. This way I won't be motherboard dependent. Of course my computer couldn't wait another couple of weeks to crash because then I would have moved my entire array over. Once I get the array backed up with some pretty slick software from DiskInternls, I'll attempt to find out what happened to my machine. -
Hi, I know this was asked of Stu, but I'm nosey. There several posts on the subject of cleaning... http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/2475-cleaning-attys/ http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/2111-when-do-i-need-to-clean-my-atomizer/ Me personally, I wash in a little grain alcohol first, then into a pot of boiling water (should be distilled but I use tap) for ten minutes. I suspend with a wooden spoon or screen so then don't touch the bottom of the pan and pick up the heat directly. Blow them out from the battery end, let dry on a paper towel (some say for 24 hours but I usually only wait a few). Just make sure you juice them up before sparking them up.

NP - Glad you did - my warning was buried amid my usual ramblings...

No idea if they are the same. Knowing they were doing 30% this weekend I bought some 801 attys and a 510 atty off them two weeks ago. Seems okay so far, 801s are not drawing real good but I think that's my janty stick and the juice I'm using. 510 ended up with a burnt taste but that might have been my fault, when juiced it's fine. So sorry for the confusing info, I ended up ordering a ton of 510 (Titan) stuff. Be aware if ordering the 5 packs there is no warranty. Just go ahead and send them a note or chat on line and ask. Very quick response when I asked if the 801s were high or low bridge (low BTW).

Stu - how's it doing? I think you may be right, will wait for mark's review and others but I'm definitely leaning the way of the spade. I'll probably make a decision just as they go out of stock at the VT store...my luck

I certainly would appreciate it Mark...thanx. Maybe you should start typing now? ;-)

So I've been at zero nic for about two weeks now. I'm fed up with my Janty Stick getting all clogged up so I'm going back to my original 510s that my wife has been using on the weekends. They're doing much better than the Janty these days and I have her on zero nic juice as well. So I've ordered a TON of 510 stuff, multi-charger, passthru, mega batteries, attys, etc. Once I killed the physical addiction, the mental one is kind of tapering off. I still need it when I drink or am stressed, but the original purpose of the Janty was the long battery life, not as important now and I think the 510 is simply working better. Also, I'm using alot of VG juice mixed with some PG. So that's the setup, the question is I was going to ask for a VP2 for Xmas because it's cool, I'm a toy kind of guy. But now I'm wondering if I should just get the Spade for the special occasions when I need something that just keeps going, football games, parties, etc. I always have a spare 510 handy in case something breaks but I'm thinking for the car and general walking around, a 510 or two with a mega battery should suffice. The point being, I'm going back to my 510 roots and I believe that's the spade and I'm fed up with the Janty and that's the 801 (VP2). Any input would be appreciated and I am missing the throat hit a little. On a side note, I have to say it's so cool not having to even vape all the time now, forget about kicking nicotine. I don't think I've ever been prouder of something I've done and it was too freakin' easy!!! And please don't take that as a knock if you're still nic'ing it up, it was simply my goal for doing this and I did it. I tell people all the time, forget about the nicotine, keep doing it but stop pulling burning smoke into your lungs at least. I could actually go to sleep lying down after about a week of vaping without hacking and coughing. Seems stupidly simple now that inhaling smoke is bad, but I had every excuse for my cough except that. Ouch - forgot to add that I owe most of it to this site and the folks on it. So what's been going on for the last week? I've been way busy with my Raid server going down in the house and haven't been keeping up keeping up.

My experience. Started with a 510 and had a bunch of "technique" issues. Luckily I found this site. I then graduated to the Janty stick and thought it was great. My plan, which I've succeeded at, was to vape all the time, regular nicotine levels, continue my regimen of about once an hour, going outside, etc. Slowly cut the nicotine down until at zero, then try to stop/cut down on the vaping. Knowing that many people fail quitting smokes because they pick up a cigarette at a bar, under stress, etc., I will always have this on me so I don't end up addicted to nicotine again. Having said that, I wouldn't worry while you are still ingesting nicotine to have an analogue here and there if you're frustrated. I have tried to turn people on to this, and some get frustrated and just give up. I point out they can just have a cigarette until they get used to it but no. I actually had a half pack left while I was playing with my original 510 and slowly went through them as I caught on, by the end I had four left I smoked right away to get rid of them(I did pay for them) but the point is I felt that confident and I wanted to quit due to developing lung issues. So I've been off nic for two weeks, feel good and the mental addiction seems to be winding down all on it's own. Couple drags here and there during the day and non-stop while drinking. ;-) The reason I'm posting though is the throat hit thing is really missing for me. I've gone back to a 510 because I'm cutting down vaping and don't need the battery and the Janty Stick is a nightmare now, attys clogging up, button not working great, etc. So my advice for throat hit is to keep the battery charged if you can, PCCs are great for that and the spade seems like it will have a great battery life. Have charged spare batteries and you could probably get through a day easy without charging on the go. IMO you get a better throat hit if you draw in gulps into your lung or take smaller puffs into your mouth and draw down. In other words, puff but don't blow out, take it in, three or four puffs taking each one in, nice long one at the end. I find I need to mix the vapor with air to get the hit. I also switched to mostly VG but use some PG as I think it helps the throat hit. Menthol smoker myself, juice I like is menthol from innovapor (VG) and Janty menthol (PG non-nic at dietsmokes). Best is VaporTalk mentha (PG) BUT THERE"S NO ZERO NIC AVAILABLE!!! Sorry for shouting and apparently they'll have some early next year. The Janty juice is like candy, really minty and that actually seems to simulate a throat hit to some extent. I also like the Johnson Creek Arctic Menthol reduced PG juice, they have a trademark taste that I like. So I usually mix up a batch and either drip or cart, remember you can adjust the nicotine levels by cutting the juice with a non-nic. I was able to keep on with the VaporTalk juice until I got to 0. Now that my wife is on 0 nic (weekend smoker), I have tons of partially used menthol juice from all over as I "tasted" what the net had to offer. Try the VaporTalk Mentha, I'm sure there is a link at the top of this page. I'm going to take advantage of the 30% off sale coming up (don't want to mention the store since Christopher opened his) and grab a bunch of attys, mega batteries, five battery charger, etc. for my 510 so I'm set. Hmmmm - really doesn't seem like I'm going to cut down, does it? ;-)

I actually don't watch anymore. Been to a bunch of races, picked it up as a kid 35 years ago when the greats were running. Before that I was ALL about drag racing, rails and funny cars and you know who they are, the mongoose, the snake, Shirley...SO MUCH FUN. Man I loved that, if the word National (summer, winter...) came up, I was glued to the TV. Anyway, I live in the northeast and I'll never make an excuse to my friends who ask "you watch that?". Yes I do and you should to. Gotten stupid in the last couple years, I just can't get into it anymore. Though one of my most profound memories is watching the Intimidator (and either you know who is is or you don't) in his final race I believe protecting a teammate's win. I see it, no problem, relatively speaking it wasn't much of a crash. It wasn't until the next day I learned the harness came loose and we lost the Big E. So long story short stubear - I can't play this game and I am now sad.

I have SO MUCH crap its AWESOME!!! Anyway, I believe some folks will simply take a paperclip, run it down the side of the cart, pull the filler away from the sides and squirt the juice in. I have to say, with both 510 and 801 carts, I just drip on top and it sucks it up. Also, I'm waiting for juice from innovapor and I paid $3 extra for what I think is a cap with basically a syringe. We'll see.
-
Smokingman - no insult intended - but man, I thought I was vaping too much!!!!HOW MANY BATTERIES? Wow!!! You were armed to the teerh!!!
-
FYI - I use a wooden spoon to cradle the attys (801s and 510s) in the boiling water to prevent the heat transfer from the bottom of the pan to the atty. I also have a strainer that will dip into the water without touching the bottom of the pan, I'll probably try that as well.

I would love to stick to VT (actually I would love to mix JC and VT). BUT VT HAS NO NON!!!! HINT HINT HINT... It is absolutely my fav juice, and trust me, I'm staring at exactly 20 bottles of juice (three more coming from innovapor, Stubear turned me on to them and the ecopure). But I want to go 0mg and kick the physical habit I've had for so long.

Vaprlife VP2 is my next ecig. I had the 510, liked it but wanted more battery like. So I went to a Janty Stick (google it) and it's fantastic. Sitting here vaping with tons of vapor, 801 lowbridge atty (awesomevapor.com) reading through the posts.

I think it's the JC juice. Went back to it in my mix, I just love the background taste of JC. Creamy, smokey...I can't put my finger on it...
-
Seemed to be the only one as my Vermont Vapor chocomint is going strong. I was running a mix of JC and VV with a little VT for some nic and it was a disaster. I've also switched back to a cart as I just thought the direct drip was a pain with the 801 attys. I think I may have been missing the wick as I heard the gurgling sound a lot. The vapor seems much better with the cart installed and it's so much easier. Direct dripping seemed to be better for the 510 but it was much easier to hit the wick on the 510 atty and the carts always seemed to dry up quick and taste foul. To be fair, I really need to get some new attys and experiment with the combos, if only VT would do a 0 nic juice, they have my fav menthol taste in Mentha.

But I'm cheap at heart. And I think my JC juice was clogging the atty after a day. Boiling does seem to work, I put my attys on a wooden spoon to prevent heating up at the bottom of the pan. Not too tough to do, I'll probably rotate them into the water each week and drop the JC juice once I determine that really was the culprit. I have 6 810 attys right now so rotating not an issue. I have 5 510 batts and 4 510 attys as a backup in case my JantyStick goes down. Four batteries for the JantyStick, two 360mah stock and two 500mah bought from dealextreme. I tried a cigarette after two weeks of vaping and I almost threw up as soon as it hit my throat. So I know I have to never go back again, for the sake of another $100-$200 of backup product, in relation to the money I'm saving it's nothing. Nevermind the health benefits and also I'm down to about 0 nicotine, so if I went back to a cigarette as a stopgap, I'd be addicted again.

You have a meter? Only way to tell for sure. Check all contacts, atty seated, etc?
-
Hmmmm - what part of quick don't you understand!! ;-) Dump it, they are dangerous.
-
I'm confused, batty or atty? If the battery, dump it quick. I've had off brands of regular batteries do that and you just have to know that's no good.
