How Often Do You Fill Your Cartomizer?
FTJoe replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Thanx guys (sorry AimeeG, generic use of the word "guys"), I tried tilting Burn, but didn't seem to work. Maybe I'll try it again. They are so stupid cheap though I think I'll just start loading a bunch up for me and the missus. Brian? You are now...uber god poster? That is....AWESOME!!! -
I have to say I decide to load one up, very nice. Will give it some more use, but very nice. Maybe getting a little hot. Hmmmm.

A Funky Thing With The Ego Battery, And Question About Eliquid
FTJoe replied to asmcriminal's topic in New Vapers Forum
Try to go through a few cycles, sometimes batteries need to cycle up and down a few times to get to full charge. It does sound like something is awry though. -
yeah!!! Now just in case there are issues, lets work through them. If you need an anlogue here and there, that's fine. As I always say, this is not a diet, its not a failure if you don't go vaping 100%. Eating chocolate cake on a diet "undoes" the diet. Having a cigarette when vaping does not "undo" the alternative. Replace one cig, that's great, replace half, fantastic, most of them, awesome. The goal is none, but it is a journey with little bumps along the way. So relax and enjoy and figure things out. I am confident you will get there, most people do. Also, when you can, dump the pre-filled!!! ;-) Get some good juice to work with, makes it so much nicer. JMHO. Welcome.

Funny - I got those a while back and haven't had time to try. I forget where I even got them.

So you guys are dripping to refill. Interesting because when I try to drip, it just runs through the center and leaks out... -
How Often Do You Fill Your Cartomizer?

Are you guys still using the "condom" to refill? Whenever I tried dripping the refill it would pour out the connection end. -
You mean look at it with the head tilted to the right? I see the eyes now but that goes against all that is good and right with the intraweb! Tilting right...its unnatural (-;

I think schizo got one, maybe PM him? He had this on his status two weeks back: eGo USB battery(: Not sure why the frown as I swore I saw him praise it in the store threads.

You ain't kidding, it ain't about their function/responsibility, they are the lap/attack dog of our appointed reps who want their tax/lobby dollars.

How Often Do You Fill Your Cartomizer?
FTJoe replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
LOL - I retired my first carto yesterday after a few weeks, but I only fill once or twice a week when I vape. Last one was getting a little stale, fresh one is nice, not sure why I waited. -
I don't think JC had an additive issue, I believe it was another two companies with "health" liquids. JC, like the others, were tagged with selling something they claimed would help with a disease (nicotine addiction) and they also got tagged for not keeping their facilities up in regards to pharma industry standards for drug preparation. Sounds bad, but this isn't a facility making darvon. I wouldn't know if those other two companies removed it (I doubt it) but that's not something I care about anyway. JC is very up front about what's in their juices, could they be lying? I guess. http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/category/faq#ing Q: I'm looking for an ingredients list. Is this something you provide? A: Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice is happy to furnish our ingredient list! In fact, we list our ingredients right on the bottle. * Propylene Glycol (in PG Recipe) * Food-grade Vegetable Glycerin * Food-grade Glycerol * Distilled water * Nicotine (except in Zero Nicotine recipe) * Natural Flavors * Artificial flavors * Citric Acid

What Is The Best Low Resistance Cartomizer?
FTJoe replied to asmcriminal's topic in New Vapers Forum
I just posted this so follow the link. http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/8169-cartomizer-vapor-production/page__view__findpost__p__75125 Nhaler is out of stock as noted, I might be guilty of that as I like the 2.0s. ;-) 1.8s are available at ENS (my wife likes those) and clouds have 1.8-2.0s (a range)...also in the link above I point out the medium resistance option, they were nice, we're zero nic so need a big punch to simulate a TH. -
I hated the first batch of LR cartos that came out. Very harsh and hot but I think 1.6-1.7 ohms was just too low for a carto. Now I'm a big fan of the 1.8 and 2.0 cartos found here and here and here. There were also 2.4-2.6 ohm medium res cartos I used to get but I dig the 2.0s and wife likes the 1.8s. Medium res can be found at vaporsetc and V4L. The tru-vapor ones at vaporsetc are medium (page down, different colors) and if V4l have medium 901 cartos but you would need an adapter to fit the Riva and I don't see them anyway.

That wasn't my understanding or interpretation. Don't take this as an attack but I read the letters and as far as I could tell, it was mostly a complaint to each company that they are marketing an item that is claiming to treat a disease. The news article mentioned a cialis drug that shouldn't be there, but two companies with the cialis and other "health" drugs the complaint was not properly noting the percentage of the active ingredient. And also one with a possible contaminant, as well as, a mis-labeled drug, the FDA is complaining that its not actually cialis. Testing by FDA's DPA also revealed that the Cialis prefilled cartridges and the Cialis Healthcare E-Liquid contained amino-tadalafil, not tadalafil, the reference listed drug in Cialis. The substitution of this ingredient renders the products adulterated under section 501(d) of the Act. (21 U.S.C 351(d)). Here are the C&D letters, http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2010/default.htm Look down at Sept. 8th. Here's a complaint about penguin, its kind of laughable if it weren't so serious. The labels of your B(4) Juice Natural Apple Juice Blend Concentrate, B(4) White Grape Juice Blend Concentrate, and B(4) Passion Fruit Juice Blend Concentrate products declare “Contains 100% Flavored Juice Blend When Reconstituted to the Mixing Ratio”; however these products do not contain 100% juice when prepared according to the package directions. We calculated the total percentage of juice in your products using your firm’s product formulation sheets and the information you provided to our investigator regarding the firm’s substitution of all juice volumes in formulations containing white grape concentrate with a 50-50 blend of apple and pear concentrate because the white grape concentrate was no longer used. Based upon our calculations, your B(4) Natural Apple Juice Blend Concentrate, B(4) White Grape Juice Blend Concentrate, and B(4) Passion Fruit Juice Blend Concentrate products actually contain approximately 89%, 89% and 91% juice respectively when reconstituted according the package directions. Therefore, the label declaration of 100% juice blend is not accurate. The labels of your Penguin Juice Co. Orange Juice Concentrate, B(4) Pineapple Juice Concentrate, and Penguin Juice Co. Prune Juice Concentrate products do not contain declarations of percentage of juice in the product. So again, not blasting you at all, but I think we shouldn't feed into whatever the FDA is trying to do here which appears to be scaring the companies and the consumers. I think it would be nice if they would do their job as I'm sure there are some companies out there that need "handling". Of course I could be horribly wrong and if I am, someone please let me know. I bought a boatload of JC juice just in case. ;-)

Hmmm - in retrospect this comment looks weird on my part... I just couldn't believe Christopher had already answered while I was typing a response, what time was that on the west coast? The man truly never rests.

I think we are just talking two different things here. I know what you are saying, if you tell someone who is actively smoking/vaping with nic that a 0nic juice has nic, it probably will work until they go through withdrawal, then watch out. My only point is, I believe vaping 0 nic would help some of the folks who return after having successfully given up smoking/nicotine. I disagree the physical addiction is the tough one to break after seeing so many folks actually get rid of the drug from their system to only go back. The mental one is a tough one as well but I think people could get past those stress points and satisfy the brain by vaping 0mg, right now a smoker can't choose a 0mg analogue so they are physically addicted all over again when they succumb to the mental pull. Having said that, I never made it more than four days I think in any quit scenario. Now I can go days (and I assume weeks or forever) without even vaping. Yes my brain still says reach for something when I'm under stress etc, if I have my ego with me, great, if not, no big deal either. I like vaping, just don't have to these days.

Seriously??? Get some sleep!! ;-)

Welcome - I see Christopher has answered everything. A passthru is powered by an external power source, desktop, laptop, wall outlet, etc. Some are direct so if you unplug, it won't work. Some actually have an inline battery, the device will use the battery for power and the wall/usb port is to recharge the battery. Here's some inexpensive ones: http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/USB-Pass-Throughs-For-All_c11.htm With a battery they are usually 3.7 volts, the non-battery are usually 5 volts (high voltage).

I don't believe I am confused. Your summary was my point, people returning to the addiction do so because the mind says to. As I believe jeff pointed out in a more rambunctious area of the forum, there is a certain re-wiring of the brain that takes place with an addict, so the only confusing area of discussion might be what constitutes the physical aspect of the psychological addiction. My point is, in regards to most drugs, the physical aspects of the drug (heroin and nicotine have a short half-life) are usually out of the system within days, I consider that the "physical" addiction. The desire to do it again I consider the psychological addiction and is very strong indeed. I believe the brain is simply desiring to go back to that state it still remembers, its not withdrawal at that point in time, its a desire to return to that state. Is this the nature of the addictive mind, sure. But that is who we are talking about, right? I was a smoker for 30+ years and tried everything to quit. I think except for the weekend smokers, you would be hard pressed to find a full time smoker who is not an addict. Some may not like that, but if they aren't an addict prone to the mental aspects of the addiction then they really should try to get to 0 and be done with it all. So simply put, I've seen many a smoker go back after weeks/months/years of being quit. This means the mind is playing a very important role in the addiction and shouldn't be dismissed as not able to be fooled by a placebo, its not as smart as you think!! ;-)
-
LOL. From what I can tell from the wiki, that is not correct, but you are correct in regards to the way it sounds. ;-)
-
I had a pretty bad reaction to the withdrawal as well when I first tried going from 18 or so to 0 (ANGRY MAN). Once I realized that was a huge mistake and started dropping the levels at 2 mg/ml every few weeks or so, it was effortless to go to zero. I highly recommend trying, if it's not effortless then definitely stop and bring it back up a little. Worst is the lack of TH at around 6mg or so, low res helps a lot.
-
My having to have a cigarette every hour or more was in my opinion, not a drop in nicotine levels, just the brain remembering how good nic is. That is the nature of an addiction, that is why addicts finish what they have and even return to their addiction after years of sobriety. Nicotine is out of the system in 12 days max, we all know people that go back after years of quitting. If you had a 0 nic substitute that was convincing in regards to smoke, TH, etc., I am convinced many of them would be fooled enough to say, yeah, that's the good stuff, thanx. The problem in my mind is a good 0 nic substitute is not around, so they reach for a cigarette, then they really are getting juiced up all over again.

Drop the LR 510 atty and try a regular one. In fact, get a regular carto, you will get a minimal amount of TH. That's what one of my friends use on an ego as she hates TH, They are 3.3 or so ohms. And yes - a 901 atty will get you a little more flavor and a little less TH.
