  1. It's downright screwy!!!! (Get it, screwy?) I apologize in advance.
  2. Well if you subscribe to the constitution as a living document, we still control where we as a society go. I think we agree in principle, maybe just not point by point.
  3. Was there something important missing? Just trying to save some space, nothing nefarious or underhanded intended... ;-)
  4. I still wonder what drives the body to pretty much give up the ghost on the mental addiction (at least for me). I would be curious if more people who made it to 0 as I did, relayed their experience about the "need" to continue vaping. I am pretty sure I don't need to smoke or vape again, but I wonder if something truly stressful happened, if I would "have" to vape again in order to not pick up an analogue? When smoking, I would smoke once an hour during the week, and almost chain on the weekend at night when drinking. I think that was stepped up even more when vaping especially as I approached 0 nic. Then after a few weeks, it severely tapered off, I haven't vaped yet today (noon my time), really weird.
  5. Funny - when I started I had four cigs left as well. Next day I smoked them mainly because - heck I paid for them!!! But I knew I'd be okay vaping. As I said, it's not a FAIL if you fall back for some reason, figure it out and go again.
  6. I'm just going by what I read. It is my understanding is most psychologists/psychiatrists believe a suicide attempt is done under an altered or modified state of mind, in other words, not a "normal state of mind" but one "not thinking clearly' or under duress. I guess what is considered normal or altered or modified could be argued and I made a leap to assume under those conditions, a person is no longer operating of their own free will.
  7. I actually found that if I placed the mega battery in the pcc, and pushed it down, then closed the lid, it kind of caught on the lid if I placed something heavy on top of the whole assembly. The rubber band is a MUCH better suggestion. I think I forced the lid out a little on the PCC.
  8. I have no idea where you are headed with that argument... Actually I believe most would agree that this type of action is MORE than immoral. By your definition, an abused spouse or child who can physically leave the abuser and doesn't is basically choosing to be abused. Luckily the law stopped agreeing with that type of position a while ago. I believe it's way more than personal rights the government is supposed to be defending. Our way of life, our society and yes our mores. I'm no law person, but I think the test of any law isn't to make sure it's defending a right, but to make sure it's not violating our rights. It's not a matter of all or none, how many more crack or withdraw because of bullying, etc. It is recognized that most children are emotionally unstable, you can disagree all you want, but most can be split open like a melon through abuse. I'm not proposing they all commit suicide, but bullying increases the numbers. It's always a question a free society has to ask itself, is the reward worth the cost whether the cost is in dollars, or inconvenience or someone's perceived loss of rights. Not everyone who is a bad driver goes off the road, yet we put guardrails up at dangerous spots because we know it saves lives. And I do not know the details of the case, but whether she was looking or not (and probably couldn't help looking), I'm sure she was getting updates from her friends and enemies. Again, some children can't help it and do not inform the parents, it's a form of abuse they can not escape. Sorry - but this country did decide a long time ago there are limits to free speech. I am a personal fan of the saying that "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it.", but there are limits none-the-less. Many people confuse freedom with anarchy, this is a democracy, we decide how we want it to work within the framework of the constitution (at least in theory).
  9. Good luck, make sure you check in here if you have issues. I went to the 510, had issues, found this site and they saved me. Went to a Janty Stick for battery life, had issues, went back to the 510, mega batteries and the Spade for longer battery life. For a guy, I find even the PCC is a pain, I would carry two 510s with megabatts, a small bottle of juice and my spade. Backups for me were very important as I went from 24mg to 0 mg so falling back to a cigarette really wasn't an option. Not so much of an issue now as the mental addiction is calming down significantly. I would also say if you are vaping with nicotine, don't worry about falling back to a cig. Don't treat as a failure, just figure out why and get vaping again. Plenty of folks vape and then have a cig a few times a day. Can't fault that, any reduction of introducing smoke from something that is actually burning into your body has to be a good thing but my goal was to stop the addiction.
  10. I notice the comment in there I've been saying for a while now. Many people believe it's the tobacco industry lobbying against the e-cig. I've maintained the pharma industry with their products have a lot at stake as well. They control the NRT and mood altering drugs they use to "help" folks quit. I think I have spent more on those failures than the ecig stuff I've gone overboard buying. After all, most health plans won't pay for these drugs but they'll pay to treat the lung cancer? On a side note, I was going to look around on addiction materials, I know there are different kinds, but the one thing that always scared me about quitting was all the folks I know who went back. There's two addictions, physical (that's toast in 8-12 days) and mental (lasts forever). So I thought the e-cig was a great alternative, I started at 24mg, worked it down to zero after a few months and I thought I was going to have to fight the urge constantly and save the e-cig for high stress moments and drinking. Afgter all, we really don't know the effects of vaping. But after a few weeks, I went from vaping like a fiend to barely at all. Morning vape is gone, after eating gone, very weird, no urge at all. So anyway, I take exception to it being declared soley a replacement vehicle. I've even noticed at parties I rarely take it out until I see my wife using hers. New years eve I went out with only my spade, a regular 510 for my wife, no bottles of juice. My daughter (she's 20) and her friends sucked it dry trying to blow smoke rings. Didn't phase me at all being out. A year ago if I was out of cigarettes I would be freaking beyond description, wife wasn't happy and she's always been just a weekend smoker. So I think it has to do with the type of addict/smoker. Shame no one wants to really get to the bottom of these things, the dollar rules.
  11. Told you VT Mentha was good!! They also have 0 nic mentha (I'm trying to sell it as I feel responsible for them trying 0 nic). Anyway, I like Janty polar mint, very minty, you can get regular or 0 nic on DietSmokes. Apparently Janty also has a mentha as well which I just happened to notice on the jantyusa site. I might try that at 0 nic even though I'm up to my gills with VT mentha. I've tried the rest, but was really looking for heavy minty/menthol. I think vermontvapor wasn't bad either, they have several mints, chocomint and a menthol, vg juices. I use a blend of vt mentha and JC arctic mint or mint chocolate. For my better half, I mix Janty polar mint, JC arctic and ecopure menthol.
  12. Yup - no issues, juice was okay. I went to them to try VG juices (menthol). Got the mint and choco mint, and I think I got a sample pack from them, pick a bunch of flavors. I personally love the glass bottles.
  13. From a wiki (FWIW)...Adult to child is Cyberstalking, child to child is cyberbullying http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberstalking "Cyberstalking has also been addressed in recent U.S. federal law. For example, the Violence Against Women Act, passed in 2000, made cyberstalking a part of the federal interstate stalking statute. Still, there remains a lack of legislation at the federal level to specifically address cyberstalking, leaving the majority of legislative prohibitions against cyberstalking at the state level.[7]" I'm not saying this is good or bad, but I'm not sure every crappy law these idiots come up with has a nefarious intent, sometimes its really just because they're idiots. ;-)
  14. I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Whether it's an adult or other teens, bullying is a form of terrorism and abuse. For years abuse has taken place among children, with trusted family members or neighbors. Are the parents responsible, the abused child? Or is the person who knowingly commits the act responsible? I don't understand how schizoid thinks it's he teen's fault for not turning away and ignoring it or you that it's the parents fault. I don't know the specifics of that case, but allowing access to the internet which many parents do, is not a criminal offense. As far as kids being technically proficient, that's a fact of life, adults (except for a few) can not keep up with the kids. If you are an exception, it is just that, an exception. There are kids out there better than you, they're just not yours. I believe tech will ultimately solve this, not the government, the government is doing what they are supposed to do (admittedly poorly), legislate.
  15. I've tried the 1) cignot carts (expensive) 2) roll, measure, cut the excess (didn't seem like there was enough material) 3) latest one where you roll, fold in half, cut a notch in the folded end (filled nice, then wouldn't fill again very easily) I've seen 4) roll bend to measure, fold once or twice to the bend. 5) various versions of fraying? Who can vouch for which? I'm convinced the PTB material is best for the cart but confused as to which mod seems to work best for folks. I don't want to give up on one just because I may get it wrong.
  16. Agreed, despicable an adult would do that and there was no way to punish her. I think child psychologists think but do not say, pre-teens and teens are emotionally and mentally crippled. I know my 20 yr old daughter is only just showing signs of becoming "mature". I know all kids are different, but like it or not, gone are the simple days when the kids got up with the adults at 4AM, worked the farm, got a break and went to school, then more chores when they got home. I ignored the comments about free will and blocking the tormentor though they still bug me. Someone abused rarely operates under free will, luckily the law has been decent about recognizing that. Abuse creates a prison, those not familiar with it don't see the walls and don't understand why but I imagine very few people kill themselves "of their own free will".
  17. So I tried this, seemed okay, but couldn't quite get it to fill up again easily. I swear the best/easiest I've tried is the pre-made cignot PTBs. I think I'll just look at how those are rolled and make my own.
  18. When the people are children, nuff said. A child is not emotionally stable enough to handle any type of bullying. This was an adult tormenting a child through a fake facebook account. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_of_Megan_Meier Bottom line is the bill is well intended and poorly written. When I finally found a legitimate site that talks about it, it appears it will probably be struck down because it is too loosely worded. many states already have legislation, but the problem was to control the fact that this can occur inter-state. People who have seen me post know I am far from a gooberment fan, but the technology these days has outpaced the ability of us to protect our children. To some extent, parents are lazy in this regard, but the other reality is the children's ability to work tech is far and above that of their parents.
  19. Excellent. I don't want to talk you into anything, but as long as you are still doing nicotine, do not take falling back to an analogue as a failure of some kind. Just think of it as taking a break from the vaping that will save your life. Figure out why you did it, fix the problem and get back to vaping. I tell people even if you replace one cigarette a day with vaping, you're better off, but really try for nothing but vaping if you can. I went to zero nic, funny thing is, my wife was complaining I was vaping too much, then all of a sudden, a few weeks after going 0 nic, the mental addiction started giving up trying to control me. Pretty much only when I drink now do I vape, and even then sparingly. It is so cool not to have that monkey on my back. So keep on keeping on!!!!
  20. If you look on Amazon, there appears to be quite a large selection of glass bottles, all sizes. I like the plastic but think I'll go for glass. As mentioned previously, I'm unsure of the composition of the plastic, and while we say they're great for on the go, I really think it doesn't matter if you keep juice in it for a month, or if you keep filling it for a month. There will be liquid in there that will get a month's worth of leeching.
  21. I'm sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little. ;-)
  22. So I do like this mod, question though, anyone try a hybrid of the autodrip and this? Cut the tea bag up, roll it up and insert up to the spring that was inserted? Since this allows filling without pulling the material out, wouldn't the spring plus this be the best of both worlds. Only issue I can picture is if there's not enough material to prevent the fluid from just pooling on the wick. On a side note, I think the tea bag material was pushed back and now I got a nasty burnt taste. Seems to not be going away...eeeeewwwwww.
  23. Actually I think the moses skit was cosby...confusing it with something else...
  24. May as well keep thread-crapping until ddave says enough...though he really did pile a lot into one post!!! My personal fear is there is no more than another 2 years or so until all heck breaks loose. People already grumbling about the banks being saved, loans not available, yes the 401ks are better but they will probably give up ground over the next year. Nothing is really better, the housing bubble started this and houses are not back. Once the Fed starts bumping rates, they will get worse again. You would think at some point in time the FASB accounting rules will be changed back to recognize the toxic crap these banks and now the US taxpayer own. I wouldn't be surprised if the banks came back for help again in a year or so...
