Brian saved me last time as I posted I was intrigued with the mega cart. Still, I just might take one for the team and see how they are... Done - 5 pack of platinum attys and 10 carts. Not sure they are actually putting extended carts on the attys. $9 an atomizer for the 5 pack if they are all good attys. Only ever had one issue with TW with a bad mega battery so I was out of luck on that. No return on the discounted packs. We shall see in a few days...stupid as I hardly vape anymore, but I can't resist a toy...

Ouch - it is in the shop? Oh that's right, this thread is about naming a PV, I was confused again... ;-)

I see Brian took care of this especially the warning that some people have reported killing them. I do five mins, wooden spoon or anything to keep them off the bottom where the temp is higher than 100C. There are screens that drape into a pot that should work well also. Some people clean with alcohol before and some after to speed up the drying process. I don't do it that much anymore, just when I was fooling around with flavors.

Dude - had a whole thing written up, I'll repeat it after you come back and tell us things are okay. And it will be okay, we didn't come this far to have it get all messed up.

I'm sorry - now I have to add that one to the list...do you people have no shame? ... Big Daddy sounds good to me.......Maybe you should start calling me that. ... ... MY wife aptly refers to it as the caterpillar. ... I call mine "The Snorkel" ... THE BIG BAMBINO! ... Call it the Shamrock. ... it's green ... How about V-Pete? Or there's always "Big Johnson"... ... If it's blue you could call it blue thunder. ... Well depending on the color...if it's green you could call it the green hornet..or my favorite old comic character The Green Lantern.

Ha ha ha - vacker-you are way to quick. Give mmseng a break, you quoted before they changed what they "meant". Father, dog...you have time, the edit button is there...we'll wait...

Okay folks - May I show you guys these responses starting with the last, next to last, etc? If I was Christopher, I'd tell you folks to clean up the language!!!! ... Listen - there is nothing funny about a big mac fit. You should be ashamed of yourself for promoting making fun of that. Shame....shame!!!!!

That's when I started boiling perfectly good attys. Get that stuff out of there!!!! Some say wait a day, I blow it out, jam a paper towel down there grease it up and go.

That's okay, I've had exactly three, so I didn't have to think long and hard which ones to vote for... ;-)

yes - most of the time the harshness comes from the nicotine. If it was me, I would get something lower like 11, then you can try that straight, or mix with the 24 to get near 18 (17.5 on a 50/50 mix), then you haven't wasted the 24 (I'm really cheap). You can also cut the 24 but then you're cutting the taste as well.

Hey Brian, I would hang on to the fact this has happened before as good news, but definitely don't screw around and get it checked out. Hoping for the best.

I was re-reading this and want to make sure I spell out that VT is the forum's very own store. VT stands for VaporTalk. Check out the sample pack - "the whole collection" http://www.vaportalkstore.com/ I personally think the juices are the best I've run across and as you can see, I've tried a LOT... http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/gallery/image/298-ftjoe-collectionsmalljpg/

Right on!!! I think that all the time when I get a sniff...
-
I definitely agree, how much nic could be left on an exhale? This is one of the reasons I believe in the don't ask don't tell. If I do it at the desk it's stealth and I'm 0 nic!! Once you open that can of worms, you may get a crappy answer to a question you never even asked. Even at parties I'll ask if it's okay unless it's a smoker's house.
-
If you're trying to get a handle on nic intake, I would force yourself into the same routine you did while smoking. For me it was about once an hour, only outside, about 5-10 minutes, limit myself in the car, etc. Once I was doing that okay and sure I wasn't overdosing, I brought the nic down a little to make sure I was okay with those levels. I found 12-18 was fine for me and I believe I was mostly "mentally addicted". Once I got it down to that and was comfortable vaping then I vaped indoors and whenever I felt like it. Forgot about the rest of the questions: 2) hopefully yes 3) most like dripping, I use the PTB mod and fill my own carts (look in the mod folder) 4) didn't know there were choices 5) Sampler pack at VT, one at word-up (though it's tough to find) http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/e-lquid-Variety-Pack-e-lquid-Variety-Pack.htm;jsessionid=3E731FE13C407152E2C7B32229AC3FF8.qscstrfrnt01

Is Vapor Addiction Real? I Think Its All About Choices.

You mean it's pointless? ;-) -
I always miss that, good catch. Both can be safely ingested, and the stuff we vape is generally considered safe to inhale. Long term effects still not known AFAIK. That's all. Not that folks aren't out there saying otherwise...my biggest issue is I have no idea what else might be in there that I'm taking in. If the chinese were poisoning kids toys, baby formula and pet food, you think they'd stop there? But if testing and control to the FDA means ban it, they can go stuff it.

A few more things, not sure these have been brought up. My point is NO one is out there actively saying PG is bad for you, we're just not positive it's okay or even good (yes - it might actually be good for you, re studies done a while ago in a children's hospital).. http://www.ehow.com/about_5499611_danger-inhaling-propylene-glycol.html The MSDS for PG lists it as hygroscopic, meaning it has the ability to easily retain moisture. It is classified as a stable substance under normal temperatures. Under the potential health effects, if inhaled, the MSDS states, "Low hazard for usual industrial handling and may cause mild respiratory tract irritation." PG has been used as the aqueous-based chemical additive in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s, with no serious side effects known. PG, because of its water-retaining properties, is the compound of choice for delivering atomized medication. It is also a common diluent for injectable medications, constituting 40 percent of the intravenous form of Phenytoin, an anti-seizure drug. Electronic Cigarettes Persons trying to quit smoking have recently turned to the recent invention of electronic cigarettes. Battery-powered, these devices deliver measured amounts of nicotine diluted in PG and then inhaled. A heating element within the device vaporizes the compounds, thereby allowing for easy inhalation. While many have questioned the safety of electronic cigarettes, their concerns are directed toward the inconsistent amounts of nicotine, not the PG solution in which it is delivered. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) The FDA includes Propylene glycol on its list of substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), and it meets the requirements of acceptable compounds within Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Considering PG has been widely used for many years without serious side effects, the substance can reasonably said to be of negligible concern.

I have no idea but agree it has to be WAY better. I know I ran across this a while back which made me feel better. http://vapersclub.com/pg.html Just saw this, http://toxsci.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/3/6/627 lots of occurrences of the word minimal in there...but I don't know the amounts or if they are significant. Maybe Speakeasy has a handle on it? I believe you only have three choices with the lungs, absorb into the bloodstream, have it come back up or it stays put.

I'm Starting To Really Hate Computers

You are right, I know you're right but I think my biggest issue is having to learn what I need to know for an OS I didn't grow up with. Hey, I'm 53 and I've got other things to do. But I guess I will have to as that's exactly what my daughter is getting, the 15inch macbook pro (which I bet is still sitting in the campus store). I made her promise to take care of it, we'll see how far that gets me. Normally I would punish buy not letting her have it, but she really does need it for school. I think I will insist for the immediate future she not go crazy loading up skype and all the other crud they put in there. But you know, you gave me a great idea, maybe if my son and I sit down, and we spend some time together researching and looking at the Windows 7, Ubuntu and OSX, together my son and I can come up with a game plan on how we will spend time to get him a laptop back (either the Thinkpad or the Netbook). Pros cons, of each OS, issues with loading them on a Thinkpad T42, compatible software, etc. and let him do the work with me looking over his shoulder. We built a tower together and he always took care of that. Never an issue that I remember. So if they get a little skin in the game, and a little education, maybe...he'll be a little more responsible? Here's a little PV humor. So I was frustrated this morning as I spent about an hour on the trashed laptop of my son's but had to run out to work after getting nowhere. I get to work, to find out the tube I brought that I thought held my eyeglasses, actually held my two 510 backups. Because of another string of unfortunate events, I had no backup eye glasses. Off to CVS to get a couple of tube readers. The tubes are a great place for the 510s and a little bottle of juice in the top but don't leave them out!! -
I will say it every time it comes up, eating and inhaling are different. Your stomach is built for processing almost anything you can stick down your throat. The lungs are a little more touchy. I imagine you can eat plastic all day long, start inhaling it after vaporizing it and you won't make it a day. Having said all that, I of course think it's safe, but as someone pointed out, the rationale is they don't know so they are trying to make everyone stop. Real reason IMO is money... PS - forgot to add I hope it's just routine...

I think his only point is you pointed out the half-life is 2 hours, I posted that I saw 48 hours being discussed as how long it can be detected (among many other guesses). The nature of a half-life is is something is detectable at say 100ppm, and you start with 1000ppm and a half-life of 2 hours, after two hours it would only be down to 500 not 0, 4 hours it goes to 250, 8 hours it is 125 and finally, about 9 hours later it's not detectable or effectively gone (unless you were dead). Apologies in advance if I misunderstand the definition of a half-life or what you were saying, I'm going from my Sci-fi reading, but it still completely validates your point about how tough it would be to overdose. -
Okay Brian - I think we all know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. In my defense, I bought these months ago so I'm pretty sure that warning wasn't there when I got them, pretty sure.
