1.3 will be good for testing. Once you get a flavor that tastes good on that, try it on at a lower ohm. Cotton is good. Just remember, the first few hits off a re wick can add a funny taste.
-
VG can mute flavor PG is the flavor carrier. The higher the VG the higher the flavor % you would want to use. For the most part if the PG and VG are 100% pure you would not really have an odd flavor from either. Some VG is between 95 and 97% pure and can add a strange taste. Wicking can add strange flavors, Some flavors do not hold up to heat or sub ohms. These are all factors in flavor. Cotton Candy needs to be around 30% to taste it as a single flavor. As an additive it acts more as a sweetener.
-
Your right it is trial an error. I was not questioning the math, more the amount of flavoring. Try adding 1-2% sweetener (Cotton Candy) to it. But 10% is quite low. I have the FA Sweet Tart flavoring here and it is a little harsh, but adding sweetener mellows it out.
-
As a baseline stick with mixes of 5ml to start with. Use no less that 18% for most flavorings and I would not go higher than 40%. Depending on your target ratio add PG or VG to that. Always count your Flavoring as PG unless it states No PG or doesn't have PG in the ingredients. Your nasty taste may be the flavoring. Some are just bad. Let it rest for a day or two before testing it. You will, in most cases, get a better flavor. PG can add a burn to your nose and TH. For your tank, do a 50/50 mix and you should fine for wicking.

What mixing calculator are you using?

I would be hitting a hardware store. ACE or other where you can test the fit. It will be metric threads. Most big box stores have screws in plastic bags so it is hard to test the size and fit.

Just got first mech mod and rda! Questions
Compenstine replied to jsiddlehfx's topic in Mechanical Mods
What brand of battery? 30amp is ok for sub ohm, but some brand batteries are safer than others. Some give a 30amp rating by the company but are not good for sub ohm. I would go with a Sony VTC 4 or 5 Best way I tell is when the Vapor production becomes less I will then do a voltage test. If it is 3.6v or close to that, I will charge it. Make sure you get a multimeter or ohm tester. It is a must have when sub ohming even if a shop built your coil. -
Anything is possible, but drawing more amps than a device is rated for, is not safe. IMO... That is asking for bad things to happen. If someone wants to do sub ohm they need to get a proper setup. Over taxing a device that was not meant for it, hoping it will work, will only get people hurt.

He did an update to that review stating that his was the only one that went out with that button issue. The company was able to catch it thanks to his video before any went out to other customers.

Just received this in my in box. I know I hate surveys too, but this one that I am doing. Take the CASAA FDA Comment Survey! On August 8, 2014, the FDA comment period closed. As stated in our Calls to Action, this is not a battle that is going to be won based solely on comments to the proposed regulations. Accordingly, we are going to attack this on several different fronts. Before the draft regulations were published, we had envisioned a single Call to Action with several suggested actions. However, upon seeing the details, we decided the best strategy to effect positive change is to prepare a comprehensive Action Plan which consists of several Calls to Action issued at staggered dates to maximize effectiveness. The Action Plan will include, among other things, Calls to Action with specific requests directed towards members of Congress. To support this massive undertaking, we have subscribed to CQ Roll Call, a program which will help connect our members easily and in a targeted fashion with their state and federal legislators on specifically crafted campaigns we design. Because the FDA comment site may not post all of your comments and they are particularly difficult to track, we are also doing a survey of the vaping community to collect and officially record the comments made to the FDA. Depending upon participation, this should give CASAA a way to report the true involvement of the community to the media and Congress, along with a way to share your comments directly with them, without the comments submitted by the opposition and the cigar supporters. It will also give CASAA statistics on ways to better reach the vaping community for future actions. This will be compelling information that will help us continue our fight. This very short survey will be asking just a few, simple questions and for you to copy and paste your confirmation number and your saved submission to the FDA into the survey. Don't worry if you don't have those things saved, just answering the remaining questions will be a great help to us. When you are done with the survey, please be sure to share a link to the survey with your vaping circles: Facebook groups, Twitter, Google+, vaping forums, Reddit, YouTube videos, and vendors. Please ask any video reviewers and bloggers you know to also share the link. NOTE: Results of this survey will be shared online, so please remove any personal information from your comment before submitting it to us. Thank you for your assistance! Click Here to take the CASAA survey.

LOL @ Hurricream.... When I think Hurricream I think of a Hurricane and we all know what Katrina did... I will start a thread on my Sub forum so this don't become derailed LOL

Ma (Mdobies) has described it as a tropical fruit drink and very creamy. It is what I sent her as Pickle Juice. It was an inside joke between Her and Mothy but it was a flavor she had been asking for. Now I need a real name for it. It is a combo of 5 different flavorings loosely based on Dragons tears and Dragons Blood.

Not using the right batteries could also be catastrophic. If your battery is not a quality high amp battery it could become a run away very quickly. Some will turn your MOD into a pipe bomb if the venting is blocked or not enough venting is present. I had a LG battery get very hot after only a few draws of a .5 ohm build. They work great in my VAMO, but not good for sub ohming. Best approach is do your homework and don't just take battery safety for granted.

I may do contest on this one. I'm stuck for good catchy name. I have had a few names tossed at me, but none are quite what I'm looking for. Names I'm considering are: Spider Venom Lost Paridise Soul Juice Dreamy & Creamy Back to Topic... Testing Mojito tonight that has been steeping for a week now.

Long term storage of nic juice
Compenstine replied to Garrett1234567's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
I don't recommend the storing any e-Liquid or the ingredients used to make it for more than 1 year. MSDS only recommends storage of PG/VG for no more that 2 years, Most flavorings are 1 year. Nicotine in PG only lasts a few months before it starts to oxidize. If you are going to do this for even a year, it must be in dark cool place. -

It is my version of a combo of Dragon Tears and Dragons Blood. One thing I vowed when I started Fadora was not coping what others have already done. So it has my own twist to it and is not meant to emulate either one. -

The Pickle Juice is not what it seems. Thank Mothy for that. It was the 10ml bottle that he had won in the contest and is a special blend just for you. -
http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/11/showbiz/robin-williams-dead/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 (CNN) -- Comedic actor Robin Williams died at his Northern California home Monday, law enforcement officials said. Williams was 63. Coroner investigators suspect "the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia," according to a statement from the Marin County, California, Sheriff's office. "Robin Williams passed away this morning," his media representative Mara Buxbaum told CNN. "He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

So glad you liked it.

Yes for at least 2-3 days after mixing. It is not really steeping It is resting and fuzing the flavoring with the PG VG. The longer you let it sit the more the flavorings fuze to the PG/VG. I would suggest at least 2-3 days as a minimum guide line for all your mixes If you want to do it, it will work, but be prepared for no taste LOL VG is quite sweet as it is and I have found with cloud chasing sweetener can add harshness. Cotton Candy Flavoring can be used for sweetening and adds little harshness to to the vape. You would want to keep it below 10% of cotton candy flavoring.

Has anyone seen this replacement Nautilus Tank?
Compenstine replied to jasonculp's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I find that the rebuilt coils in the Kanger are far better than the stock coils. (Just my opinion) The thing I disliked about the Kanger Tanks was the air flow. The Areo base is a huge improvement. In the event of a leak it will also catch the juice and keep it off the battery terminal. You can get a couple 100ft spools of Kanthal for a good price through TEMCo for less than 3 5pks of OEM coils . I would suggest 100ft 30ga and 100ft 28ga to start. As far as this Nautilus Tank replacement, I can't justify spending more for a plastic tank than the full OEM Nautilus tank. The price just seems a little over the top for me. Even it were Pyrex I think I would have a hard time justifying the price. -
Ok who is sneaking pics of me in my lab with their cell phone!

In order to do a dual coil at and end up with approximately 2.0 ohms you will need 2 coils at 4.0 ohms. I think what would happen in order to get this would be 2 coils that would not fit into a Kanger head. I think the best way to do this is just go with a single coil at 2.0 ohms. If you want dual coils I think you will want to change the Target to a 1.0ohm or 1.5ohm end result.the only other way to get a dual coil setup at 2.0 ohms would be to go with a RDA so you have room to mount them.
