This what I do.... My one main unit is my XPV Proto DNA 40. I have multiple tanks with different coil builds. If I need a nic fix I'll put on the tank I have set up with the right juice and build for it. I adjust my watts and I'm vaping. Say I just want flavor and decent vapor. I will toss on a different tank adjust watts and I'm off and vapen. If I leave the house I just take 2 tanks with me. At home I have 7 that are filled with different flavors and builds for that flavor.

I need to revisit Temp control. I'm spoiled on Tiger coils and think I need to do some builds that give me the flavor I like yet allow me to do Temp control.

Good question... I do not normally go below a .8 build, but do use the .5 coil heads in the sub ohm tanks. I like between 2mg and -0- meg for the sub ohm builds and always max VG. When I go sub ohm it is for the flavor and cloud and so much the nicotine. When I want the nicotine fix I go with 1.2 to 1.0 build at 18-24 meg.

I always have it with me. Sometimes I chain vape other times I don't, but it is always not far away.

Oh well. Just thought if the case was good I could use the parts . It really sucks to down be a favorite MOD let alone your only one. :/ Tam will be in to scold you for not having a back up though.

Like most electronics it has memory and taking the battery out should reset it if it is volatile memory like the ram on a computer.

Did you try taking the battery out let it sit for for 5min then place the battery back in.... Like a reboot...?

It is noticeable on the white version, but in the photos of the black, it looks like a one piece unit.

I do both it depends on the unit and mg e-liquid I use. If it is a RDA with low to -0- mg Lung hit, if it is a tank with say 24mg mouth to lung.

Just to reiterate what Chris said, this is a close-up of a standard KPT coil after 1 week. This was with light use. I have seen them worse than this. Your juice can play a role as well to how gunked up a coil gets. For example Coffees, and sweet juices can look much worse over the same amount of time.

They don't look like they are much different than a Aspire coil head. I wouldn't give up your idea of machining a fix. If it were me and had the ability, I would make a rebuildable replacement head for it that just replaces the old coil head. You have to know your not the only one that will have this issue. Or convert an old head to make it rebuildable.

Are they rebuildable? At least that would be an option if they are. Like the KPT coil heads....

Silica, the OCC coils are cotton. Organic Cotton Coil.

Do they look like this? If Yes, they are silica.

Sorry for the miss understanding. Yes the sub ohm coils use cotton not Silica. But if the wick is Silica the burnt taste will not be the "wick" burning. It may be crusted with charred juice. Once this happens it will make the rest of the tank taste burnt even if you put in a new coil. Even with a cotton wick once you burn it it it will taint the juice in the tank.

Clams, Oysters and Muscles so far do it to me. My wife loves them and I have tried to eat them just can't. They make my stomach ache and get the sweets bad. I thought it was all shell (Clam type) fish that did this, but scollops don't do this to me and I love scollops.
