Micro Coil, Cotton Wick KPT2 Build
Compenstine replied to 3Rutez's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Been getting little time over the last couple of days to work on the multimeter mod but I'm close to being done. All that is left to do soilder the connections and give it a whirl. It will have 510 and 901 atty and batt connections. I have also left room for 4 adapters to test any standard atty or batt. -
"New" B&M in the area and iClear 30S question
Compenstine replied to spydre's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I have to agree the iClear 16 is nice atty for those that don't want to hassle with rebuilding a coil. They are easy to fill and have good vapor production. A person that is just getting into vaping and don't want to have to fiddle with cartriges they are great. I have found though that can leak out of the mouth piece if left on their side. If i went back to selling E-cigs I would push them as well to the adverage joe looking to start vaping over the 510, 901 cigalikes i use to sell. -
ATM I use the old school 401s for my flavor testing and have 1 atty for each flavor. Now that I'm running low on them and find the flavor is definitely sub par to the RBA SS mesh tank, I'm looking for a good RDA. I'm looking for a RDA that i can use with a mesh wick. Looking at: Smokteck 510 RDA IGO-L 510 RDA Phoenix V2 510 RDA The IGO-L is what I'm leanig toward but, I'm just not knowlagable enough in RDAs to make up my mind. I don't want a cartomizer as I'm moving away from any thing I can't grab some wire, wick and rebiuld it. I'm finding that the SS mesh don't hold the previous flavor of juice like silica and cotton can so mesh is a must. Any advice from you long time drippers would be a great help, Cost is not an issue for this?

Bump when you get something in vape mail.

Just got a large assortment of flavors and a 500ml bot of 100mg nic fluid from Wizard Labs today... I'll be making some new flavors tonight. -
Well stated! I started with the Cigalikes (510, 901, 401, 112s) they were good for me for a long time. I ended up getting adapters and was using 901 and 510 attys on a 112 batt. Now that I have better gear, I'm alot happer. My advice is follow the advice you have been given here, it is sound and spoken from experance.

You got me thinking... Here is the meter I have: The area that stores the cables is a perfect spot to mod this out for testing ecig batts and atomizers. It even has a flip lid that will keep it all in one nice unit. I strip all my old batts and attys for parts so I have plenty of connector parts. -

Oh yeah that would be sweet! I would defiantly be on that and using this cheap meter I grabbed at RS. I have a FLUKE as well but that I won't mod. LOL Free is always good! -

Who is the best flavoring supplier?
Compenstine replied to NathanS's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Wizard Labs I have other sources as well but they have minimum orders of $200+. For most DIY Wizard Labs is the better choice. -
This is what I already have understood... As I read this " The FSPTCA defines the term “tobacco product,” in part, as any product “made or derived from tobacco” that is not a “drug,” “device,” or combination product." ATM they only really have power over Tobacco Flavor and Nicotine derived from Tobacco" So a vendor selling 0 nic and non tobacco flavors may have a loophole...?

For the cost these rip-off "deals" outfits charge a person per month, a person could get a nice Mod with a decent tank and Juice ta-boot. -

DIY is fun and rewarding! Your right on the easy to do part and hard to master. I have been mixing for 3 years and still learn new stuff as I go. It's a little bit of science, chemistry, and cooking all rolled into one. And just like baking cookies... as cook, you always get to tase the cookies first.

The not so hot Lavafire Variable Battery MOD
Compenstine replied to Compenstine's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Absolutely, but that is true for any assembly line product be it China, Japan, USA... etc. Even the most expensive items can be faulty. Granted it holds true with most things "You get what you pay for." This item was just a poor design from the get go when it comes to the manual switch. At one time this was one in the medium $60 price range as well. As you stated you can do all the research and still get a bad unit. There is just no excuse for bad enginering in any country. -

I wish I could edit a post any time.. LOL I said "materialism of the diabetic" in my other post not "metabolism" Spellcheck and tired eyes LOL Can you PM me some of the links to these sites or when see one? I would love to try and inform them. Oh yes adding sweetner will affect a diabetic. My diabetic friends and I got together to work out what was spiking us. Found that VG was the worse than just strait PG. Thanks My Dad was also T2 diabetic and that is what help me find out really early that I had it. I was lucky that I caught it early, it only help when I went to controling it with diet. I found through research that it was possable when diagnosed early. My Dad was a sugarholic he used his meds as an excuse to eat sugar. After about 20 years he ended up Insalin dependat too and died shortly after from pancriatic cancer. -

The not so hot Lavafire Variable Battery MOD
Compenstine posted a topic in General Vaping Discussion
I was eager to get the LavaFire MOD until it arrived and what a disappointment. The first thing I did was fill the new Pro Tank I ordered with it, put in a battery, and it didn't fire. The battery was loose in the casing, the button was loose and would screw in or out just by touching it. It truly felt like it would fall out at any moment. I thought WoW, what a piece of @#$# this is. Found that the switch would not make contact with the battery unless it was screwed out to the point of almost falling out. After 2 hours of rebuilding the switch I final got it working. Had to replace the contact spring, add a higher contact point, and added a spring to the outside part of the switch. Sad day when you have to re MOD a Mod to get it to work. Don't buy the LavaFire Variable Battery MOD unless you have spare springs, a small thumb screw, and some micro size O rings laying around to rebuild it. Good news is after the rebuilding of the switch it works great. If you have one and you don't use it because of this issue, or, just want pics of how to fix it say the word and I will add a small tutorial to this thread. I think I put this in the wrong section. if a mod sees this can you please move this to the E Cig review section or Modding section? Which ever you feel is most appropriate. Thanks -

Compenstine replied to newegot4us's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Many of the people I sold fluid to when I had my b&M store including my self know better. I'm not going press the point except my blood tester tells me otherwise. That is not to say that it will effect all diabetics the same way just depends on the severity of diabetes and the materialism of the diabetic. I control mine with diet, no meds. I have a friend that vapes and he spiked 60 points after a few moments of vaping. I personaly see only 5-10 point spike when I vape and I'm a chain vaper. -
How do you get those to stand on end like that LOL JK I do see a pattern there Looks like you found what you liked and stuck with it.

Sorry to hear about your hubby. I'm sure the stress is bad on both of you. If he was a 2 pack a day guy then as others have said he may want to bump up his NIC intake. I would ask his doctor as well if Nicotine in an E-Cig will effect his illness. If he is diabetic the Juice can affect his blood sugar as well. That I know because I'm type 2. Strait PG (propylene glycol) has less affect on me than a VG (Vegetable Glycerin) base liquid. Glycerin has more glucose than propylene glycol. -
I just want to say this company knows what customer service after a sale means. I have said in a few posts I bought a Smoktech SID, actually 2 of them one for my wife and one for my self. I loved it till the day mine when south. It started Just not firing and no screen message. had to break the contact and restart is from time to time. Then just yesterday I started getting the "Short" message on the screen. This was a problem a couple times at first. Today, it would short every few puffs and I had to break the connection (reboot it) to get it working again. I know it wasn't the Tank, IClear 16 or my Drunk tank because I could use both on my 801 batts just fine. Today I email LitecigUSA about the issue and with no hassle at all, they said to sent it back and they would take care of it. It has been about 14 days since I received it and was expecting a 'Sorry out of warranty' answer. (The site states 14 days on returns) But Nope just asked what atomizer I used with it and that was it. So I will be without my SID for a time and that blows but I can expect a replacement soon. This wasn't the first time I had a problem with an order with them. The day I received my order they had sent the color tip for my wife's SID. I emailed the next day and they sent a the right tip with no hassle and did not ask me to send the mistake back. LiteCigUSA Rocks in customer service!

I have had it happen so many times I keep 10 batts in my truck at all times. When I get home I have 3 usb chargers going on a hub to charge them up. My SID stays at home and I use the old 510s and 112s when I go out. Just don't want to risk misplacing or breaking my SID.
