  1. Here is my take on this. This is an example of how the FDA works. The regulations that they just put out would only allow Cigalike devices. These are what Big tobacco has started to put on the market. This "New Study" has come out demonizing "Tank Systems" which if what the FDA, Big Tobacco and Big Pharma would like to see go away. These are the devices that are helping people quit and hurting the profits of these Fat Cat bullies. Coincidence? I think not it was planed.
  2. Yes... When was the last time you changed your coil?
  3. What Troy said.... looks like a beauty ring so I wouldn't worry about it. What Tank are you using?
  4. Some pics would be a big help to us. Is the ring on the tank or battery?
  5. So far no work from EVOL. Hyperion Vape did email and said they would take them back If they are bad... Can't tell that unless I hook them up and I'm not ready for that yet so... I may be stuck with them. I emailed Hyperion Vape back and explained I don't know if they are bad until I hook them up and am not at that stage yet. I said I would welcome an exchange if they were in boxes or sent in antistatic bags so there would be no chance of faulty chips from static electricity... We will see.
  6. This is so true I can't count how many times I wrapped a coil same wire same number of wraps same diameter and have it be off by as much as .3 to .5 ohms in some cases. Welcome! I put my trust in Fluke not wraps.
  7. Yes, VV overrides the auto voltage settings that VW would give you but if you set the Wattage then go to VV you then keep the wattage setting and overide the voltage at what wattage you set first.
  8. Use a bottom coil tank like a KPT 2 or Nautilus. With 100% VG you will want to remove the flavor wick so it will wick better. I will say that 100% VG doesn't do well in a tank and dry hits are common. To help avoid them draw a couple times without hitting the power button to moisten the wick before vaping.
  9. Basically when in VW mode it will set the voltage for you. When in VV mode you can up your voltage overriding the VW auto setting. I run VW at 15 watts that is my "Sweet Spot"
  10. I have OCD with packaging LMAO Gota love it when your OCD helps another person with theirs.
  11. Oh yeah LOL had that happen a few times when dry burning. No wick just juice. Had a nice pretty blue flame. LOL.
  12. Not sure Fish as this did not come to me from EVOLV. Hell I don't know but this vendor may not have either. I was very tactful in my email to EVOLV stating that I felt this type of situation was not a good way for these chips to be handled. I asked if they do ship without boxes and if they are shipped in antistatic bags from them if not in box.
  13. Just the other day I was testing a coil, had just juiced it and test fired a couple times. I bumped my drink with elbow jerked and had hot juice dump on my hand. It was like hot fry oil.
  14. I could see them sending them out without a box to vendors building mods, but would also expect that it was in a proper antistatic bag as well. Proetus told me that the ones he got from a coop were not in boxes.
  15. Posted this in the review section as to how I'm handling the issue.
  16. As you all know I'm a vendor and not one to slack on my packaging or customer service. I recently made an order through Hyperion Vape for 2 DNA 30 boards. These boards were mishandled and are now at high risk for being junk. I have ordered other EVOLV boards and they were in a box clearly marked as EVOLV DNA products. They are protected with antistatic foam and well packed to avoid damage. This company miss handled the boards by placing them in unsealed non antistatic bags. By doing so, one had fallen out of it's bag and was floating around loose in the shipping box. I'm a computer tech and have not ever received any circuit board in a non static bag and there is a reason for that. Static electricity can and will damage a CB in seconds. It may work as intended for a short time, not function properly or not work at all. Why these were not in boxes from the factory I have no idea and have contacted EVOLV with my concerns. bIf EVOLV shipped chips out these products without being in the boxes, then it is on them. I don't expect an E-Cigarette company to understand the issues with circuit boards and the damage that is caused by miss handling. But, I would expect EVOLV to understand this. I can't help but feel EVOLV should be responsible if they shipped unprotected chips to vendors that would not understand how to properly handle them. Either way this goes I expect that they will be returned to either the place I bought them from or go back to EVOLV for an RMA replacement. I'm giving both a chance to rectify this issue and will give updates as to the progress.
  17. I'm so pissed, Got my DNA 30 chips today. 1. Not in the protective box 2 put in unsealed non antistatic bubble bags 3 one was loose in the box not protected by anything. $100 of worthless junk!
  18. I just did a little quick search/research on Nicotine creating formaldehyde when heated. Until the second page of the search all that came up was nothing but the connection to E-Cigarettes but 1 link. It wasn't till page three did It come up about Analogs and was found in a study done in 1971. Key words: heated+nicotine+creates+formaldehyde Search Results: https://www.google.com/search?q=heated+nicotine+creates+formaldehyde&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb#channel=sb&q=heated+nicotine+creates+formaldehyde&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&start=10 Look for your self. I did find one interesting fact in one article talking about vaporizing nicotine for insecticide. Pharmaceutical Journal, Volume 70, Publised 1908, PG 218 http://books.google.com/books?id=RV0CAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA618&lpg=PA618&dq=heated+nicotine+creates+formaldehyde&source=bl&ots=urpzbMH459&sig=oOwAAXpMz3YwS5-QG1JVcKywPio&hl=en&sa=X&ei=1cppU7r4EuX8yQHg84CQBQ&ved=0CEIQ6AEwAzgK#v=onepage&q=heated%20nicotine%20creates%20formaldehyde&f=false "For vaporising as nicotine has a high boiling point (250 degrees C.)..." That would be around 610 degrees F.
