  1. I have found flavors that I didn't like at first to grow on me and become an obsession. This is true with Awesomevapor Apple and Liquid Express "23" flavors. I also found out recently in my experimenting that I cannot do with out VT Dulcis. I ordered some new flavors and let me Dulcis run out thinking that an RY-4 would suffice...I was wrong. Fortunatley I have Dulcis and Grape coming tomorrow. If you find something you love, don't let it run out.
  2. Sinikal and JMHester we three seem to be on the same path. Funny we should all by VP units this week since we jealously read the forum's raving reviews. I have a smoking everywhere gold rotting in its own juices, a vast array of 510 attys and batteries, and an 801 starter kit. I also whent through the Johnson Creek liquid experience. I did not order the janty stick, only because it was out of stock. I have been really wanting the puresmoker passthru since I saw the grim green reviews, but I bought the VP2 801 kit tonight because I just couldn't stand not knowing. I hope the back order issue doesn't take too long and come sometime next week or a little after we can all post our findings. By the way I have really high hopes because the potential of the 801 atty is waiting for a battery that can drive it.
  3. Honestly I came across the other site first. The big dividing line to me seems to be those in search of the best vape and those in search of the best cart. VT is definitley a haven for drippers and the other site is great if you are trying to figure out the best way to make a cart last. I also find that the other site is the first place you end up after being burned by a mall kiosk. The bigger issues of someone seeking advice to the next level can be found here.
  4. Yeah you have to want to quit smoking to get past the learning cueve on the e-cig. I would suggest two routes 1. Get a really tasty flavor for her 901, so she can have it as a treat as oppossed to a threat to quit -or- 2. Get as many tobacco like flavors for her to try, maybe one will be what she is used to. I know awesomvapor has a sample pack that has all of the tobacco flavors in 1.5 ml bottles plus a bannanna and a green apple. It's like $22 I am the same page with the money. I am not trying to save money yet. I take the money I would have spent every week and buy a different starter kit or try a bunch of new flavors. I am currently saving for the VP2 and the puresmoker pass thru, but at the rate I smoked that will only take a couple of weeks.
  5. I ordered a 15ml bottle of RY-4 and received a sample 1.5ml bottle of Apple from awesome vapor. First let me say the customer service is the best I have found. The juice could have tasted like old vomit and I would have been satisfied because if it tasted like warm vomit that would have been in the description. Arno is straight forward and personal. He says on his liquid page that he has selected flavors that people would vape all day and that is what they are. Also if you leave a comment on the order page his daughter Amanda will hand write responses to your questions. Awesome. Ry-4: 18mg I have not tried any other RY-4's before. I have been vaping VT Dulcis like mad and I thought that was what RY-4 was supposed to taste like. The caramel flavor in this is more subtle. I understand the like-smoke reference now. Very good vapor production. Apple: 18mg At first I didn't like this flavor. On exhale I could smell a slight Nag Champa smell. Not in your face, but more like you walked into a room that Nag Champa was once burned in. The apple was very, very subtle. It was like a hint of green apple now-n-later flavor. I took it with me to work and through out the day I kept finding myself going for the Apple. The Vapor production was tremendous. Its the end of the night and my little sample bottle is gone. I wish I had ordered a big bottle. Thats the nice thing about awesome vapor, you get a sample bottle with just about any purchase.
  6. I agree JMHester the smell of a burning cigarette outside is enticing. I have found that if you can go a couple of weeks the best remedy is to just go ahead and smoke one. It will kill the urge for you real quick. For me when evr I tried to quit before I would break down and smoke one because I would smell it and crave it, and think yuck, but after a few you get used to it again then your hooked. Now when I broke down I would think YUCK! And then, instead of smoking another one because of the nicotine I have a delicious vape waiting for me.
  7. I remember grunge off. It was supposed to remove any "tobacco" build-up, and it did. That water pipe would comeout looking like it had been in an acid bath. I would be curious because the baked on resin looked very similiar to the baked on crud that I saw in some super HD pictures of a crudy atty in a different post on this site. My big concern would be the chemical they use in grunge off. You didn't run the risk of smoking those chemical in a water pipe because you could wipe out and wash the bowl real good afterwards...and you had the whole waterfilter thing. With the atty the heating element and the wick could soak up that stuff. Here is a link: http://www.kublnicks.com/groffsusotop.html I just googled grunge off, there are a lot of sites. The stuff looks super toxic. I would be leary of vaping anything that says wash hands immediatly if contacts skin...unless it had nicotine in it...and tasted like caramel.
  8. It tastes more like a Dr. Pepper hard candy. I found the vapor on exhale to have a cool feel, like it was cold. It is an all day vape, if you have moved away from needing a tobacco flavor...also have DR. Pepper to drink on hand.
  9. I also ordered the "23" flavors from liquid express and I agree I was impressed with the vapor production. At first the flavor creeped me out, then I became addicted to it. I have had the bottle for about two weeks now and the flavor isn't is strong. I miss it! I don't know if liquids lose their flavor after a time or if you just burn out those taste buds, like how a cigarette taste different after you have been smoking for awhile. Since you have the "23" flavors and yours is probably still potent, it is really good if you drink a Dr. Pepper while your vaping it!
  10. Hmmm...Most of my atty's came from dietsmokes because I would buy a new atty when ever I bought juice. They are the ones with the flavor difference. I had 2 from my original starter kit which I got from thesmokesafe those didn't have that taste, but it is hard to tell because they are from the cart and JC juice days. The one that came with todays shipment of juice from awesome vapor is a freakin champ. I blew out the primer and by my second drip I was getting pure flavor. The experiments are going o.k. 2 attys in the morge waiting for till tomorrow to see if I get to rip thier guts out and look inside. One black and one red one came producing a lot of vapor but the flavor still leaves a lot to be desired. The second red one works just as crappy as it did before the bath. I have found the scorpion ring attys to kind of suck. I got 2 and one of them was always weak and the other would get super hot from one or two drags. This is a lot of hassle. I will probably just get a fresh one everytime I order juice and chuck em when they start to taste funny. Do you guys reall boil yours once a week?
  11. I bought a carton a week, and extra packs here and there. I have been using a 10ml bottle a week, plus I have random bottles of wierd flavors that I sample every now and then. Am I overdoing this?...not that I'll stop or anything, but what is more average 1-2ml a week or 10ml a week?
  12. I would have voted for "I vape all the time just like my analog habit", but I vape more than I smoked. I was a two pack-a-day chain smoker. I vape like a fiend. I think it has to do alot with being able to vape in the house and in the car; both of which were restricted to me with analogs. I keep an 801 and two 510's going at all times because I can't wait for them to cool down. I have also found that after a month of not smoking I don't find my taste buds reacting as well as everyone else reports. I have a constant film in my mouth. I brush my teeth a lot, but still I don't tatse the vapor as much as I did at first.
  13. Frustrated with not knowing stuff I steadily collected 8 510 attys and had my way with them. I have done everything from fill the whole thing with liquid to holding the battery down and watching it burn up. The end result is I have 2 virgin attys, 1 fried atty, and 5 attys in different stages of crudification. Now it may be that after getting an 801 I expect alot more flavor rfom the liquid, but none of the 510 attys seem to deliver the flavor. So holding true to my conviction that the best way to see what everybodies talking about I have tried some of the stuff I have seen discussed. Since the most conflicting topic was coke-bath I started with that. I took my original atty, the one in the latest stages of arthritis and soaked it in coke for about an hour. I blew it out, rinsed it, blew it out until it was clear then I let it dry for about 4 hours. Since I was impatient I gave it 4 or 5 drops of Dulcis (since I knew what I expected from this flavor). I let that sit for awhile and then fired it up. It produced vapor and had way better air flow, but thier was a peculiar flavor, similiar to stale factory primer. This is what I kind of expected since everyone said not to do it. So I put hat one in the SUN P.M. slot of the oversized pill container that I use to keep these experiments organized. The box has two rows A.M and P.M SUN through SAT. I use P.M. for Attys SUN being the grave yard ready for autopsy and SAT being the new born ward. The "dead" one was a black 510, I still had 2 black ones and 2 red ringed (scorpions) left. Today since I am eagerly waiting for the post man who should be bring a fresh supply of juice with some sample flavors from Arno I have been passing the time getting my attys ready. I plan on using the 801 to really taste them, but I can't neglect my important scientific work. The first thing I did was take out the dead one and fire it up...Hey this thing is pumping the most vapor, but still with the taste (going in the soup). I took all 5 and poured Isopropal Alcohol through them, wiped off the contacts to get off any build up and dropped them in the boiling water for 6 minutes. Took them out with tweezers. WARNING: if you scrape the side of the atty while doing this the aint will come off it is still boiling hot. Next I blew them out and set them to dry. I will let you know what happens later, but while I have been typing this the mail man came and its time to get to my favorite experiment of all: New Juice!
  14. What Chris says is true. I have found that everyone has very different and very strong opinions about their juice. I am by no means expert on the topic, but I have been steadily experimenting. The first good decision I made was to stop using carts. At first I wanted to try and find a flavor as close to what I smoked. I smoked Marlboro lights. I found that I do not like the tobacco flavors, and I also find that I hat the taste of cigarettes now. My first purchase was a Johnson Creek sampler pack. I hated it. Some people swear by it. To me it seems like something that cigar smokers would like, and is markedly different than Everybody elses juice in flavor, vapor, and well everything. My favorite flavor right now is VT Dulcis. It has a slight caramel flavor. I ordered it from dietsmokes.com What is nice about this site, for trying juices is that they carry several different brands. So what I do is order a $10 bottle of Dulcis and a different flavor from a different vendor at the same time. This way, if the experimental bottle is disgusting I still have what I need. Arno at awesomevapor.com has a sampler pack and he is an excellent vendor. He has 2 things for the noobie in search of thier flavor. First he has a sampler pack for about $22 and He also sends a 3ml sample bottle with every regular bottle you buy, so you can get something you know you like and try something different for free. Right now I am waiting for a bottle of RY4 and a sample of his apple. I am ordering his RY4 because I love Dulcis. Like you I am new to this, but from what I gather Dulcis is in the same family as RY4. My question is what is the deal with the RY juices? Everyone has the RY4 it seems to be the standard. I have also seen other RY's like RY3. Is there some history here? Was this the original naming scheme for liquids or something? Are the other RY's caramel too?
  15. Thanks. I really want one of these now. It is odd that in his video he really makes a big deal about the flavor in the 801, but when he follows up and is happy about the 901 he never really mentions if he tried the 801 again. My voltage questions are put to rest. This thread is starting to lead to the puresmoker passthru you started, so I'll keep an eye on that.
  16. I hunted around and found the reviews Grimm Green did of the puresmoker passthru. It definitley looks cool, but in the video he mentions a bad flavor with the 801 atty. He mentioned that when he switched to a 901 it was awesome. Have other people had the same experience? Do you have to go with the 901 to avoid the burning taste? It seems wierd because the 801 is a bigger atty.
  17. Roasted Chicken sounds disgusting Of course I have to try it now. At least you can buy a five pack of atomizers from them while your at it because the atomizer you use with that will never be the same.
  18. Dang...I was going to ask Santa for a Dripper PCC! I carry an extra bat and Atty(with a whistle tip so it doesn't shake around), but the cart slots are vacant. I want a PCC that will hold the spare batt and atty AND my fully assemled cig that just hangs out in my pocket. I know it would be a little longer but not that much. Or just make the other two cart slots another batt charger and atty holder. If the elves want they could make the PCC wider to accomadate (more like a cig pack anyway. Also, Santa if its not too much I would love it if I could charge an 801 batt in there too! I'm also going to need a Christmas flavor VT juice to leave out for Santa when he brings me all this stuff, for being on the nice list because I quit smoking analogs.
  19. Kind of a side note but stil on topic: I am a software programmer (thats why I was initially asking if anyone wrote software for passthrus. Now I realize you would have to build a passthru capable of working with that...different thread) There is a major company here in Orlando I wanted to get on with. They don't ask you if you smoke. When they test you for drugs, they also test you for nicotine...Very disapointing. I will have to go cold turkey for the dream job. Their reasoning is thatit is non-productive, always going on breaks for a smoke...and their right. When I smoked I was much less productive, but now that I can sit at the computer and vape I get twice the work done.
  20. I live in Orlando Florida, and I just want to remind everyone else on the East Coast: Its still hurricane season. About 5 years ago, we had four hurricanes roll through central Florida. The power grid was crippled. Some areas were without power for weeks. Even 7-11 was closed at one point! I remember because I forgot to stock up on cigarettes and was close to massacring my family. Funny thing was latter that winter I put on a leather jacket from the back of the closet and found an unopened pack of smokes. Heres the thing if the power goes out in addition to stocking up water and canned goods, dont forget your e-cig needs electricity. My plan is to enough charged batteries to weather the storm and a back up pack of analogs, but if anyone else any ideas Im listening. Does the Janty Stick take regular AAAs? Because that would be the thing. A Janty Stick and mega pack of AAA batteries. Oh, yeah the mail wasn't running either...so better keep extra juice on hand.
  21. I was never one to let a cigarette hang from my lips, but sometimes you need to like when getting out of the car or carrying something. I usually take my 510 on the go and use the 801 at home. I have been using the whistle tips on the 510 and for quick stuff it is easy to bite down on. It is also handy to bite down on and pull of the tip so you can drip on the go.
  22. Christopher, Is there a sampler pack on the horizon?
  23. So the pass through is the only way to get the higher voltage? If my next purchase is between getting something funky like a janty stick or a VP2 I should research the voltage?
  24. Dulcis is my all day smoke. I am the same way I want more caramel flavor, and I find my self re-dripping before I need to, plus I keep two 510's going at once, just to get that first hit caramel flavor. Like you, even though I bought 2 packs of cigarettes every day, I seem to regard trying a new flavor as a major investment. Recently I tried LiquidExpress's "23" flavor. It tastes like a Dr. Pepper hard candy. It also has a cool flavor/ feel when you exhale. At first I did not like it, there was a hint of cleaning product to it. Not a poisonous flavor, but like you just walked into a room that someone had cleaned. This eventually went away. I like it now and throw it in when I want a change. One thing that I have noticed is that it has great vapor production. The best I have had so far. I have tried JC Juice, which I hated. I have tried Janty MLB which was ok, it had good vapor production, but I find that I don't like the taste of tobacco flavors (whats the point once you get over smoking analogs? I need caramel). For now VT Dulcis is my must have. At first I felt the same way about the size, but then I started carrying it around in my lighter pocket and its a perfect fit. I just order 2 at a time because like you I demolish one in about 5 days.
  25. I was watching the VT Juice reviews and Grim Greene was switching up voltages. I have a 510 set-up and an 801 set-up. I am pleased with both, and I am assuming that they are low voltage. 1. Did he have a device in the video that allowed him to change voltages on the fly? 2. Is it the VP1 and VP2 models that you can switch up voltages? 3. Was it that he was using a passthru that gave him that option? This seems like a cool thing to do. Since I have stopped using carts, I find my self re-dripping just to get that first hit taste. Manipulating the voltage, in the video anyway, seemed like another level of controling the flavor and vapor production. Any leads here?
