Deadpool809 got a reaction from Uma in What Is The Mod Of Choice These Days?
After a bit of use, I think I like the VAMO. I have noticed that the battery just stops firing on low resistance cartos much sooner than on standard resistance. I know low resistance mods on VV/VW mods seems silly, but I have a ton of them, and it's been hard to wean myself off them. The 1.5 cartos start to peter off when there is about 3.6 volts left on the battery - but I throw on a standard resistance carto, and get a lot more time out of it. I don't know if that is normal or not, but it is what it is.
They did ship me the new unit with the upgraded springs, and the rattle issue is gone. I am quite happy with it. Of course, the issue is still ongoing - since only one of the units was broken, they told me to ship the broken one back, and they would replace it, and send a new spring along with the replacement for the unit that worked. When the package arrived - they shipped me an extra VAMO by mistake. I contacted them to let them know (it just didn't feel right just to keep it), and they offered me some store credit if I would send it back. That was nice and everything (not that I'd be using it anytime soon), but they told me they couldn't give me a shipping label, but they would instead give me more store credit to "reimburse" me for the shipping cost.
Maybe I'm weird, but that just irritated the hell out of me. I'm happy to send the thing back, but hell - I don't want to have to PAY for it...

Usually the date is the date it was made. They last like 24 months I believe.

A slight delay in getting the box ready to mail... I have a slab leak that I am working on now in my house. Apologies... The box will ship tomorrow!

It seems like this is becoming a "Trade" thread, instead of what it was originally intended.
Just saying... there is a whole forum for classified listings and trade offers. I think the intention of this thread is for people to give things away without expecting things in return...

Hrm, kind of a shame. I have a ton of juice to put in there, but I guess there is a lot in there already. Was going to put a J Tank in there as well, and I had a couple other items to toss in as well that were slightly better... will have to see what is left in the box by the time it gets here.

Not to worry - I have a ton of boxes, from USPS and otherwise. I do a lot of shipping I will find something...
I have several things to add anyway, so I might need to.

Too bad they don't have those random couriers like in Skyrim that somehow manage to find you no matter what city you are in..

Deadpool809 got a reaction from DAYVAPE in Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto Vs. Smartvapes 1.8Ohm Dripping Atomizer
And right there lies the problem.
I am most likely to drip at my desk - where I am working on something. When I am at my desk working on something, I chain vape. Hell, I chain vape most of the time, but there it is particularly bad.
Looks like I need to buy another damned atty. Damn it!

Drip shields work - I can say that much. Inside there is a leaky mess, but nothing gets out.

Deadpool809 got a reaction from Breal in Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto Vs. Smartvapes 1.8Ohm Dripping Atomizer
Guess what two items I got in the mail today?
Despite my negative first reaction to dripping (well, the latest first reaction) I decided to try the dripping atty again. I also ordered some of the MDCCs. Since I've moved to the Ipro as my primary vaper, I've tended towards regular 510 cartos in a J Tank or a Submarine tank. I've been using my LEO again a lot, and miss the big old fatty cartos, so I thought I'd try these again.
First thing I did was try out the dripper on my IPro. Not terrible, but even at low voltage it made the atty, drip shield, and the top of my IPro really, really hot! So I unscrewed it (proved difficult), and moved it to my ego 18650 tube mod. That improved things - the flavor was a bit better, but the vapor production on both was kind of sorry. Plus, the occasional super-hot-juice squirting in my mouth wasn't the best... I had to be way too careful when drawing to keep that from happening. And the sudden fowl taste when the atty runs dry... ugh...
So then I loaded up one of the MDCCs with the same juice, and screwed it onto my Ipro. Uh oh... doesn't screw down. The skirt just wasn't long enough! Then I remembered I bought one of those 510-510 connectors from my last dripping experiment, and it was still there, unopened. Did the trick.
Outstanding. Flavor was a little less than the dripping, but the extra vapor more than made up for it. I tried it on the tube mod, and the results were the same. And the rubber drip tip! Identical to the Boge LEO DCCs! My favorite!
Maybe I am just not made for dripping! Hell, the MDCC was so good I will probably be using a lot less of my Jtanks to boot...
It also occurs to me that I have way too much vaping ****. The fact that I did all of that just when a shipment came in... that I actually had it all on hand? WTF?

More nicotine also results in a darker color, so if you are going with less nicotine, it will be lighter

I assume I am sol, as I pulled the thing apart. And I did the procedure correctly.
In truth, while thus taste was better, having to add more juice constantly is not worth it. Cargoes sacrifice a tiny bit of taste for a lot of convienence...

I'm more worried about the FDA vaping a rat to death, and using it as proof that vaping is bad for you.

Deadpool809 got a reaction from Breal in Addictives Other Than Nicotine
The prevailing trend in medicine these days is to attribute smoking as the cause of death to any smoker.
Even if they are 90 years old, and their body in general was dying out. If they smoked, and that at all contributed to their body failing, then smoking is the cause. Period. Forget the fact that they still lived a full and generally healthy life.
I take health warnings (especially the dire ones) regarding smoking with a grain of salt. It is politically fashionable to demonize smokers, and everything related to it.
Is smoking dangerous? Absolutely. But the fact is, some people's bodies can process the garbage, and some can't. If you live to 90, and smoked your whole life, and eventually died from lung cancer ... I don't count that as smoking killing you. Something else probably would have a week later if the lung cancer didn't get you.
Is second hand smoke deadly? Unless you are in an enclosed space with a smoker with no ventilation days on end, no, it doesn't. Car exhaust is more harmful, and people don't die young because of their daily commute.
Smoking is bad, and there are a lot of things in cigarettes which could kill you. But the dire warnings about particular ingredients are sensational, and overkill. You could pick apart everything we are exposed to in life, and find something about it that might eventually cause some kind of health problem if exposed in high enough doses. Remember - they determine these ingredients are potentially dangerous by giving tiny animals doses hundreds of times greater than anything you will ever be exposed to, and seeing what happens.

Deadpool809 got a reaction from TornadoContest in Addictives Other Than Nicotine
It might be helpful if you describe your withdrawals. May help. For example, does something feel wrong when you are vaping?
You might not think about it, but the action of flicking an ash off a cigarette can create a Pavlovian response. Your body starts to associate that action with the intake of nicotine, and when you are vaping, you don't have that. You are getting the drug, but the ritual aspect is gone, and it feels somehow wrong to you.
Or are you having a more physical response?

Deadpool809 got a reaction from Breal in Pv Or E-Cig?
I am not saying that he is any less of a **** for putting it the way he did - but in part, he does have a point. When you quit cold-turkey, that is a serious accomplishment, because you are cutting yourself off a drug that you are addicted to, and demonstrating the will to stay off of it.
When you switch to a PV, he's right - you only kind-of quit smoking. You are still taking the drug, and are still addicted to it. Yes, it is absolutely better for you, but you are still addicted to the drug.
I have a very libertarian position on the matter, and think if people want to take a certain drug, they are more than free to. But I have to say that he did accomplish something you did not. You both quit cigarettes, but he actually quit nicotine, which is much, much, much harder.
If vapers are going to promote the item based on it being a way to quit smoking, I think it's important to recognize that quitting the nicotine is also important, and someone who gets there without the aid of a PV is to be applauded. Because they did do it better than someone who just switched and is still getting their nicotine fix. Even if you are vaping, saying you are or are not a smoker is really just a semantics game. If you are taking in the nicotine, you are still addicted - no matter what delivery method you choose.
I think they are great for it, but I use it like I used cigarettes - because I like smoking, and really don't care to quit. Sure, I have the nic level dialed in low, but that works for me.
Ultimately, I think we should be less concerned with what other people think. PVs are good, because they don't have the carcinogens, but they are bad in a way because many are still used to deliver nicotine. It is a bad we choose to include in our lives, and we have every right to do so.
I guess it depends on how you present it. Rather than saying that you quit smoking, perhaps the device should be sold in your description as a healthier alternative. Because at the end of the day, those that are able to completely quit have accomplished more than those who still take in nicotine. They DO have more bragging rights, and I have a feeling (not accusing anyone specifically, mind you), there are some vapers who do brag about how they "quit smoking." And if I quit cold turkey (and I did at one point - there were several years between the time I smoked cigarettes and the time I picked up my pipe for recreational smoking), I would be a bit irritated by someone bragging about quitting when they never faced withdrawals.

Deadpool809 got a reaction from Breal in Just Tried My First Eliquid
To you, it might be. Try it out. Even eJuice flavors I love - to me - taste nothing like what they are supposed to taste like. That is one of the reasons I loved TVR's Gingerbread so much - to me, it was the closest any e-juice came to tasting like the flavor it was named for. Sure, the good ones have something that remind you of the flavor, but it is distant at best. And since I love gingerbread, it was a no brainer.
Anyway - don't let the fact that I don't like it keep you from trying it. YOU might love it. Just get a small sampler bottle to start with. You really do have to try a ton of stuff and find out what you like. Someone else can't tell you.

Bobas Bounty is Bobas Bounty!
My take on it is that it is a tobacco flavor that isn't trying to be a tobacco flavor. In my experience, the juices that are trying to mimick tobacco get it all wrong, because you really can't mimick that taste when there is no real combustion going on. Bobas, on the other hand, gives you something that reminds you of that taste, without being flavorless on its own. It is good stuff. I do enjoy it more on lower voltages, I found.
Also, if you just quit smoking, you might not be able to taste the fruit flavor too well.
Try scrolling down and posting a thread in the Member Classified section. Maybe you will find someone willing to trade you for some of those 30 mL bottles you keep mentioning
