  1. That's my main Atari - I bought another one for parts, but the one I actually have hooked up does have the Wood Grain. Every now and again I get a hankering for some Empire Strikes Back Shoot me a PM if you run across a power supply at those thrift stores. Original ones are scares for me...
  2. That would be a pretty awesome mod - yes. Good luck finding them in Thrift stores - I have a hell of a time tracking down replacements. Thank goodness my Atari will work with a Genesis controller. Amazon has a few - not sure if the price is right though. If you make one, I demand photos. Mostly so I can beg for one
  3. Oh, I don't order ANYTHING online They've gotten really bad with that - in the office I work at, we had to start filing a use tax report annually to report our online purchases, even though it is zero. And they call to ask why it is zero, when we do so much business. We are a real estate office - we don't need to order anything from Amazon!
  4. It's like tea. When juice is first made, it does need a couple of days for the flavor to work its way through the juice. Some suppliers make them fresh - some make them in large quantity and fill orders as they come in. If a supplier suggests you let the juice steep - just don't try it for a few days. That's all you need to do. While it is shipping to you, it is steeping! So that time counts. Taking the lid off isn't steeping - that is oxidizing. It isn't necessary - though some people like doing that. Just leave the cap on and leave the bottle alone for a few days. You don't need to do anything special.
  5. Functional feel. It's a must. I think the NES Mod is more interesting than the PS. Still - I think this would be both less complicated and more awesome:
  6. Until recently, I've been buying LR DC cartos. They worked great on my VV Mod, but I found I was always set at the lowest settings. There was nothing wrong with that, but I figured I may as well get some standard resistance cartos and try it on a higher voltage. So I ordered a whole bunch. The result wasn't great. It was decent - better on some flavors than others though. So I realized that for some flavors, I am going to want to stick to LR cartos. I can't imagine I am alone in this. When you store your cartos, how do you keep your LR's from getting mixed up with your standard resistance ones?
  7. That's a great deal for the Leo, and I am a big fan of the unit. The batteries are great - but they do suffer a little bit if you get the dual coil LR cartos, which is almost a must for the unit. What's the "special on/off feature" that page mentions? I didn't know Leo batteries could be shut off...
  8. If you can't tax it, California doesn't like it! Their anti-smoking laws have never had anything to do with making people quit, it was always about Image and making more money for the coffers. And since smokers have been so successfully villified, I get nasty looks constantly when I vape in public. I get treated better when I am smoking my pipe in public - but I think it's because it is a novelty. There is a decent shop in Laguna Beach that sells e-Cigs. It is the only one I have found that has anything better than the cheap smoke-shop ecigs. But then, that's SoCal. No idea about up north.
  9. I do like that tube mod. Is that ok with the Standard resistance cartos, or do I need to have LRs for that?
  10. Oh, I still love my Leo, and totally agree about the 4ML cartos. Like I said - I want something somewhere in the middle that takes a 510 connector. I bought an adapter already, and it just doesn't work like I could want it to for some reason...
  11. I used to vape exclusively VG, and it gunked everything up. The best success I had was with a DC LR carto. CE2 clogged up fast for me. I use some PG now - and it works way better. Maybe switch to a little more PG and lower your Nic level a bit? Could also try mixing a little distilled water into your VG to thin it out a bit.
  12. To you, it might be. Try it out. Even eJuice flavors I love - to me - taste nothing like what they are supposed to taste like. That is one of the reasons I loved TVR's Gingerbread so much - to me, it was the closest any e-juice came to tasting like the flavor it was named for. Sure, the good ones have something that remind you of the flavor, but it is distant at best. And since I love gingerbread, it was a no brainer. Anyway - don't let the fact that I don't like it keep you from trying it. YOU might love it. Just get a small sampler bottle to start with. You really do have to try a ton of stuff and find out what you like. Someone else can't tell you.
  13. So right now I have a Leo and an Infinity pro - but I kind of want something in between without having to buy a full kit. I was looking at this battery here: http://www.vaportalkstore.com/products/Joye-eGo-Mega-Battery.html - no idea if it is good or not, but it is out of stock anyway. That's the kind of thing I want - something short, with some bulk, that I can run a 510 carto on with a tank that is a little more portable than the Infinity Pro but has a decent battery life. Any suggestions?
  14. Alien Visions Massive Chocolate Mint. Luckily, I only ordered 18mL. Found out the hard way I don't like chocolate, and I don't like mints! Taste is subjective, and if you like those things, I am sure the flavor is great. Just not for me! (Only once in my history of vaping, not only once at The Vapor Room. Nothing at TVR has been that bad, though that French Vanilla Coffee is CLOSE)
  15. I think you are limited to the New Members forum for your first several posts.
  16. Last night, I looked for another sampler to try, and discovered that I didn't get the French Vanilla, I got the French Vanilla Coffee! Sadly... I didn't really like it at all. Unless it is actually coffee, I find I never enjoy coffee flavored things. I have been ordering the Vapor Room's flavors of the week for a couple weeks - $10 for 30 mL is outstanding. A bit too much juice to sample generally, but at the price? I've only once run into a juice so bad I couldn't finish it if I had nothing else...
  17. Bobas Bounty is Bobas Bounty! My take on it is that it is a tobacco flavor that isn't trying to be a tobacco flavor. In my experience, the juices that are trying to mimick tobacco get it all wrong, because you really can't mimick that taste when there is no real combustion going on. Bobas, on the other hand, gives you something that reminds you of that taste, without being flavorless on its own. It is good stuff. I do enjoy it more on lower voltages, I found. Also, if you just quit smoking, you might not be able to taste the fruit flavor too well. Try scrolling down and posting a thread in the Member Classified section. Maybe you will find someone willing to trade you for some of those 30 mL bottles you keep mentioning
  18. You are supposed to read those things? I thought they were box padding.
  19. It's good stuff - you order it here.http://www.avejuice.com/BobasBounty?category_id=1 - sometimes you can find it other places, but this is the source. You might have to try a few times to order - they take their payment system offline all the time. They appear to be closed today as well. I will say I just tried Vapor Room's Gingerbread, and it is fantastic. My absolute favorite of the bunch so far.
  20. I just got my first batch from them as well - I am mixed. Of them, I've tried the Blueberry Crumble, Butterscotch, Apple Pie, and Buttery Popcorn. I have to say that none of them knocked my socks off, but I didn't hate them either. My favorite of the bunch was probably the Apple Pie. Still waiting to try their Gingerbread, Strawberries and Cream, and French Vanilla.
  21. I'm probably one of the few people that spend more vaping than I ever did smoking - either analogs or my pipe. At my peak, I was spending around $50 a month on pipe tobacco. With my roaming eye for gear and the cost of juice and cartos, I spend way more than that vaping...
  22. I didn't really much see the point of a VV, until I tried it. Bob's post pretty much mirrored mine - I was really surprised when I found that different flavors taste better at different voltage settings. I still like low voltage overall, but even when I have it in the correct zone for a flavor, I occasionally crank it up on a craving whim, and it works great for me. I'll probably be getting a second VV just for the heck of it soon.
  23. I am like you - chainvape and low Nic level, between 6 and 10 (occasionally even more, especially if I am working hard on something on the computer) ml per day. Get a tank system - it took some trial and error for me, but I am switching between 2 - a Sumbarine tank and a J-Tank. Use a 50/50 PG/VG mix, and it should wick through the carto well enough. I occasionally will top off the carto if the flavor seems off at all, or do some dry pulls to get it flowing, just in case (after flaming out a carto using 100% VG, I am paranoid, but it works). With the tank, you can see exactly how much you have left, and when it is finally empty, you know it is about time to refill.
  24. If you are talking about the tiny hole in the bottom where juice can leak out - no, you can't close that. If you do, no air will flow through it. You need the air to actually draw on it.
  25. I've never had success cleaning cartos... sure it gets a few more uses out of them, but the quality is never there after a cleaning, and it just isn't worth the effort to me. I automatically take those rubber stoppers out now, and use a drip tip. I don't even drip - I just like the mouthpiece better and it is far easier to take off and check the carto if I get a weird taste. But the burnt taste is the key. As others have said, dropping a few drops on your carto every now and again isn't a bad idea.
