  1. Hole size matters a lot. I was frustrated when I first got my J-tank because it was burning cartos. I tried cutting my own, and while I had some success, it was a pain in the butt, and the dremel I have isn't powerful enough for the job. If I ever get a new one, I might try that again... but I digress. I then tried some cartos from other providers. I got some Smokteck dual coil LRs from Mom and Pop Vapor shop when I picked up a Submarine Tank, and those things leaked like a sieve on me. The closest I have come to perfection is the pre-punched cartos from Electronic Stix (yes, that is where you get the J-Tank, and no - my first batch I was using I didn't buy from there. Stupid, stupid!). There is a hole on each side, and the holes are about 1.5mm each. I think they would be perfect if they were 2mm using 50/50, but that is something I haven't tried yet. I am now using the tanks more than my old regular set-ups, so I have to say it is a success. Don't give up on them - go back to what worked for you before, and experiment a little occasionally. Hell, PM me your address and I will mail you one of the LRs I have from them, and you can try it out. Another trick I do is I load the carto before inserting it into the tank using the condom method. I don't understand why that isn't a standard in the instructions - it is way better than just sitting there and waiting for it to soak in, Then you can fill the tank and you are good to go.
  2. I still recommend a LEO - you will only be able to buy one battery for your price range, but it sounds like you want a passthrough anyway, and the battery life is several hours. It uses a standard mini USB cable, and you can get the battery for $20, and a 5 pack of cartos for $20. That hits the $40 mark right there. It doesn't have a 510 connector (you can buy an adapter), but I found the LEO to be a good starter unit. I wasn't doing a lot of trying out different attachments when I was using that, and I think that is where you are at now.
  3. I am not saying that he is any less of a **** for putting it the way he did - but in part, he does have a point. When you quit cold-turkey, that is a serious accomplishment, because you are cutting yourself off a drug that you are addicted to, and demonstrating the will to stay off of it. When you switch to a PV, he's right - you only kind-of quit smoking. You are still taking the drug, and are still addicted to it. Yes, it is absolutely better for you, but you are still addicted to the drug. I have a very libertarian position on the matter, and think if people want to take a certain drug, they are more than free to. But I have to say that he did accomplish something you did not. You both quit cigarettes, but he actually quit nicotine, which is much, much, much harder. If vapers are going to promote the item based on it being a way to quit smoking, I think it's important to recognize that quitting the nicotine is also important, and someone who gets there without the aid of a PV is to be applauded. Because they did do it better than someone who just switched and is still getting their nicotine fix. Even if you are vaping, saying you are or are not a smoker is really just a semantics game. If you are taking in the nicotine, you are still addicted - no matter what delivery method you choose. I think they are great for it, but I use it like I used cigarettes - because I like smoking, and really don't care to quit. Sure, I have the nic level dialed in low, but that works for me. Ultimately, I think we should be less concerned with what other people think. PVs are good, because they don't have the carcinogens, but they are bad in a way because many are still used to deliver nicotine. It is a bad we choose to include in our lives, and we have every right to do so. I guess it depends on how you present it. Rather than saying that you quit smoking, perhaps the device should be sold in your description as a healthier alternative. Because at the end of the day, those that are able to completely quit have accomplished more than those who still take in nicotine. They DO have more bragging rights, and I have a feeling (not accusing anyone specifically, mind you), there are some vapers who do brag about how they "quit smoking." And if I quit cold turkey (and I did at one point - there were several years between the time I smoked cigarettes and the time I picked up my pipe for recreational smoking), I would be a bit irritated by someone bragging about quitting when they never faced withdrawals.
  4. I guess I will play too, with my humble, humble collection Too lazy to upload it to webspace, so I'll just attach it.
  5. I just call it a vaporizer. I have no issue with "Cigarette" - I am the type of person that will argue with someone who makes a nasty face or abuses a smoker, as I see nothing wrong with it. I haven't smoked a cigarette in at least 6 years though - and for me it was a transition between pipe smoking daily to vaping daily. They are different things, and I think vaporizer more accurately describes it. Never use "personal" though - kind of redundant. I never referred to my personal pipe, or a personal cigarette before.
  6. Funny, I just threw out my blue foam from when I tried to get my 601 DSE pipe to work. Hell, in retrospect, I am a case study in why you should walk before you run. Still haven't figured out what to do with that thing... and I have a practically unused one now.
  7. Gingerbread! Loves me the gingerbread from there. Wasn't too keen on the French Vanilla Coffee, and the Blueberry Crumble was ... kind of neutral I guess. I expected more. Maybe I didn't have the voltage right, but I am a low volt vapor. I don't like it warm.
  8. And I was just going to ask for one of these. Glad I looked for it before I opened my mouth.
  9. Re: #12 - I ignored Bluray. Aside from it being owned by Sony (and I have a personal boycott of their products after they decided installing malware on your computer was OK), I just don't think they are different enough from DVDs to make the switch. I'm skipping Blurays altogether and going straight to digital Good list though, very entertaining.
  10. I'm still torn on that eGo Tube mod.. but I think I will pull the trigger on that soon.
  11. I guess his Facebook page blew up http://www.facebook.com/tommyjordaniii My favorite reactions are from the people who are appalled. It's like a litmus test for good vs. bad parents...
  12. There was a spam poster - they had links to other sites in their sig, and every post was the same. The signature disappeared, and eventually the posts were deleted as well. Spambots or Spam Turk posters are usually easy to spot - I get them a lot on my comic forum. Like if someone posts in pigeon English, but has a Location in "America" or somewhere dominantly English speaking, has interests that include "e-cigs" or has a signature talking about how awesome they are, usually with links to other e-cig sites, but posts about how they are either "brand new" to it, or are thinking of trying them - well, that usually sets off my radar, and I am off to the admin panel to check account IPs and email addresses for known SPAM spreaders. Can't do that here, but I do shake my head and laugh at the post, wondering how long it will be up. Funny too is that when they identify a sex - either with a user name, or a photo, it is almost always female. I guess forum nerds let girls get away with more than guys
  13. I've seen it - it does work. Though that seems like way more of a hassle than just using the condom. Maybe it's just me though.
  14. Oh, I know. I love their juice and recommend it. Their bottles are always a little harder to squeeze drops out of (easier for people who count drops) and I was no doubt overzealous. I'll tell everyone what a great company they are anyway. I am not a big believer in getting free stuff just because. It was an accident, nothing that couldn't have been prevented if I hadn't been more careful. There was a minor defect in the dropper, something we could in no way expect them to test. If I was more careful, it would not have happened. If it came across that I was complaining about their product, I'll be the first to say that isn't the case. Buy juice from the Vapor Room. I will continue to do so. If they really did something wrong, I'd only post to ***** about it if they didn't try to make it right. Because I'd have contacted them before posting here.
  15. If you use higher voltage on a low resistance carto - you burn out your carto. Don't do it. You won't need to. As others have advised, I think you are trying to walk before you crawl. And $30 may not get you a very good VV. I've been vaping for like 6 months now, and I only just got my first mod, and I am still learning things through trial and error. Slow isn't a bad thing.
  16. Well, I took my syringe and ran it through the stopper ahead of time. Looks like it wasn't properly punched through. I thought about emailing them, but this really wasn't their fault. I lost 10ml, and it will cost them more in shipping to replace what was lost. Plus I learned something - and I guess that makes it worth it
  17. It was quite painful. The redness is finally subsiding. I tried to rinse them out as best I could, but I can't even put eyedrops in my eyes, so it was rough. I had a bit of a light-headed rush the moment it happened... could have been nic, I imagine that stuff absorbs fast though the eyes. Thankfully I only use 6ml. On a brighter note, it was their French Toast. And it smells just like French Toast. And when I was covered in it, it was just as sticky. It sure feels authentic! Time has passed, so I am about to try again. Fingers crossed!
  18. Oiy, I just cracked open a new bottle from The Vapor Room for the first time. I squeezed once to start filling my tank, and the dripper exploded off the top, sending juice all over my desk. A copious amount splashed into my face, and right in my eyes. Looks like my left one took it worse than the right - it's totally red right now. Had to stumble blind into the bathroom to try and wash it out. Man that felt good...
  19. Trying out different voltages on my Infinity Pro... I settle around 4.5 volts... but while the vapor level is there, it is warmer and the flavor is pretty well gone. I think you got it right mega...
  20. Looks like someone already caught the spam sig, but I think there was a reason for the multiple posts.
  21. Best way to tell if your carto is out is when the flavor changes. If you get a hint of dry/burnt taste, you know it's time for more.
  22. Tanks don't have anything to do with strength. It is just a delivery method.
  23. I am having a hard time with the standards... I am getting no flavor out of them. Maybe I am just a LR guy! THat, or I haven't found the right flavor that hits on them. The best I have gotten out of the SRs is Butterfly Bait... but it still isn't quite as good as it is using a LR. Thanks for the tips - I think I am going to go with the sharpie method... it best fits my current storage scheme. I bought 20 of the things... I have a feeling they are going to last a very long time based on my experience so far. Unless I can find a hit.
  24. Since it is a carto, I am wondering if you didn't let it sit long enough on that first hit. If you burned the filler material bad enough, it is always going to taste burned. You might need to try a new carto.
