  1. I'll agree there - it is way cheaper to just buy the battery and the cartos to go with it. he did mention a kit though, so I tried to find a link to one. As an example - I've never shopped there - I actually bought mine at a brick and mortar. But I could recommend buying the battery solo. They charge with a standard mini-USB cable. And while the 510 compatibility is an issue, I haven't found a 510 carto that really matches the large Leo cartos without a tank to go with them.
  2. I just upgraded to an Infinity Pro, and my eye is already wandering to something bigger. Having to restrain myself
  3. I haven't seen anyone mention the Leo - especially since you mentioned you don't necessarily want it to look like a cigarette. The kit is like $60 - http://www.themadvaper.com/products/Boge-Leo-%22Tank%22-starter-kit.html it only comes with 1 battery, but you can get a second one for $15-17. Shop around to be sure. That was my first unit, and I still use it when I go fishing. 510 compatible parts are probably better for longevity, especially since it looks like the Leo Pro is going to use those as well - but I was very happy with my Leo.
  4. I pretty much chain vape, and vape way more than I ever smoked. I go through at least 10 mL a day sometimes. But I also have the nic level at 0, or at 6. I wouldn't stress so much about the amount you vape just yet - just find the balance where it is filling your need, and start dialing the nic level down if you are interested in cutting back.
  5. Well, I do think a cig is a lot different than pipe or a cigar, the tobacco quality is way different. I tried a cigarette once a couple months after I quit, and it was absolutely disgusting. I started as a pipe smoker, because I really do enjoy the flavor. I love my PV, but it just doesn't pair with the glass of scotch and a book the way my pipe does. It just helps that be the very occasional activity, as it should be.
  6. I started vaping to cut down on my pipe smoking ... and I still smoke my pipe about once a week. It has actually gotten to the point where it is almost a pain to go back to the pipe, but I do it for an almost medical reason. When I was a kid, I had terrible canker sores, but I grew out of them after puberty... usual in my family. For some reason, when I quit smoking, they came back worse than ever, and never abated until I picked up the pipe. After doing some research, I found there was something in tobacco smoke that killed whatever was causing the canker sore. I assumed it was the nicotine, but it turns out that wasn't the case, and nothing else kept them away like smoking. About once a week is the minimum I need to smoke to keep them away, so I do that. Sure, I still enjoy it, but I don't NEED it the way I used to, and I really have to have nothing going on to really enjoy it. So when I am busy, it is almost a chore.
  7. PG and VG are fine - it is far more important to look into what is used in the flavoring. Diacetyl is bad to inhale. It is sometimes used in buttery flavors... but I think most places are avoiding it now.
  8. I found myself pretty much in the same boat. The only thing I knew that steeped was tea. Turns out, it is pretty much the same thing. You steep your juice by letting it sit for a few days. Depending on where you order your juice, some is made right after you order it. It takes a few days for the flavor to work its way into the juice. Some people will say you are supposed to open your cap for a moment (but I guess that is really oxidizing?), and other will suggest warming it up like tea (That does something bad to the juice... I didn't see a lot of people on board with that), but letting it sit for a few days and doing nothing with it is supposed to be best.
  9. Yeah, I checked once yesterday, and once today - both times, the payment system was down. I officially give up... I love the stuff, but this is just not worth it. Looking forward to getting the juice from the few other places I ordered from. Hopefully one of them will do the job.
  10. Pretty. It's at least very cool looking. That would be too much for me, but I think its doable. It must be, or going that high wouldn't be a selling point! Of course, having not tried it, I am absolutely no help to you.
  11. Well, to be honest, I get one of three flavors there... Bobas, Banana Slurry, and the Butterscotch. VGs don't have quite the flavor that PGs do though, so if you were used to PG, that might explain the lack of flavor. I get a lot more flavor out of the AVE stuff when I crank up the voltage, but that's usually too much throat hit for me, so I keep it low.
  12. The hassle I went through around New Years made me try some other places for the first time... sweet-vapes being the first. That also broke me out of the "only 100% VG" mode I was in, which is better in the long run. http://www.thevaporroom.net/ - Is that the URL? I noticed a post on the main page of AVE about how they shut down some days last week to go travel and check out some new things that would help them become "Greener." Kind of a questionable move after they had to shut down so long last month, but then it isn't my business! Personally, I think they need to focus more on getting their volume of orders out. If you are really into the green thing, that will make Alien Visions a great option for you, but that just isn't important to me. If that is making it harder to get an order, I am happy to spend elsewhere...
  13. Now I love Boba's Bounty, but as I am trying out different juices from different vendors, they are no longer the only place I will go for juice. Lately - it seems like it is more of a hassle than anything to order through them. Last month they had a health problem that was keeping them offline. I totally get that - I just waited and made do. Then they opened up again, and were awash with orders, closing shortly after they reached their capacity. It took me nearly a week after they reopened to finally get an order in, and I had to catch them in the middle of the night to do it. That was less than a month ago. I did get one painless order in since then, but once again I can't get them when their system is online. I tried last night and today, and I keep getting "Payment system down." I guess they are having some "Team Hannah" sale, but the discount is modest ... is it really blowing their daily limit out of the water before 10am? I love the stuff, but I can live without it now. I am starting to wonder why I spend so much time trying to catch them when they decide to be open...
  14. I have to admit - I have noticed the same thing - bleeding gums when brushing. I thought maybe I was having a gum disease issue, but my teeth appear to be fine and the bleeding persisted after a good cleaning. I was wondering if the vaping was causing a bit of oral dehydration. When you are dehydrated, your gums can form tiny cracks, which tear open when you brush. I haven't been tracking my water consumption and matching it with the bleeding, but I do notice it waxes and wanes - and some days I drink more water, and some none at all. I guess I'll start paying attention and seeing if there is a corelation, but this might be the cause of that issue. You are supposed to drink more water when vaping ANYWAY, so good advice even if it isn't the cause.
  15. I have been using my Infinity Pro for a couple weeks now. I am not seeing the same issue you have with the button - for me, when it clicks, it fires. I guess if yours is working it isn't too important, but you might consider dropping them a line and asking if it is normal.
  16. I'm actually having a tough time right now - I LIKED the tank, but another one burned a bit on me... not so bad this time because I was paying attention and caught it. I am soaking the carto before I light it up... I just think the juice I am using is too thick, and it isn't wicking correctly. I realized both burns came when I was using AVE's Banana Slurry... maybe that juice is just thicker than Bobas. Who knows. It even seems to be clogging up my regular LEO cartos, so the draw is bad on even a brand new carto. How thick is the juice you are using with the submarine tank? I am going to suck it up and try some more PG juice... maybe 70/30 and see how that goes. I'm kind of ruined right now.. The Infinity performed so well out of the box that going back to the LEO seems like a downgrade, but everything I am using on the Infinity is either clogging or burning. Waiting to receive my 510 Megacartos to see how they perform...
  17. I'm a fairly heavy vapor, and use thick liquid - I had a 510 carto burn out on me bad (still feeling it in my throat) with the vertical slit. Normally I'd attribute something like that to it not wicking properly because it was ready to go - but the thing hadn't been used that much... basically 2 days. I cut some thick slits near the bottom, and when I do that it just never seems to absorb all the way to the top properly. It worked great for a day or so, and I am just trying to find a better way. That juice was more PG than I normally use to boot... which is part of my concern. I am generally pretty careful, but I still got burned. Trying to figure out a better way to avoid having that happen again to me. I am still going to try some mega-cartos, but I am a fan of the idea of the J-Tank... and don't want to give up yet.
  18. Maybe this is a silly question, but searches really aren't turning up anythink. In every video for a tank I see, you either punch a hole in a cartomizer, or cut a slit at the very bottom. Don't you want all of the material saturated? Would it not make more sense to cut the slit vertically, so more of the filler is exposed to the juice in the tank? Just wondering if anyone had tried this, and how it worked...
  19. Ugh - well, that was bad. I got in a J-Tank, and cut some cartos to go in them. I wasn't even using 100% VG like normal - more like 60/30. I had some Sweet Tart in one from Sweet Vapes, and took a long draw, and gagged. Total burnt taste, and I pulled the tip off, and it was totally black. All that crud in my lungs... lovely. I think I've pretty well decided I am going back to big cartos... this tank thing just isn't working. I haven't found myself happy with anything that uses a 510 carto. So I might have a couple barely used J-Tanks for sale, sadly. So far, this mod thing isn't going as well as I had hoped.
  20. I believe so - I haven't had any problems ordering in a while.
  21. Thanks for the advice - but I'm not a big atty guy. I don't like dealing with juice constantly! Plus I already bought the Infinity. But then I think something went wrong last night. The 501-LEO adapter worked great... at first. Problem was, it got stuck! I guess you need to be real careful putting those things on so they don't get too tight. When trying to get it off, I think something broke... the Infinity started ratlling somewhere in the top, and the top screw was a little loose. I took out the batteries, but whatever came loose wasn't up there. I carefully unscrewed the top - and nothing came out of there either. I put it back on and everything worked fine and the rattle went away... hopefully it was just whatever pin they use to hold the top in place. That was a panic moment.
  22. Yeah, the cartos I got were BOGE 3.0 ohms. I get that using 100% VG is going to make them last not quite as long, but my issue isn't how fast they are going bad, but rather how frequently I have to fill the damned things. The Tank should fix that. I am thinking if the LEO Cartos work with an adapter (not in the tank, obviously), I am going to have to go back to Standard resistance. I've been using those dual-coil LR ones. Maybe - I am finding I like the vape on the lower voltage, and I rarely have gone over "Yellow", tending to stay just below that.
  23. That's about how long my Leo Cartomizers are lasting (I also MOSTLY use Bobas), which works for me. I also decided to order a LEO - 501 adapter so I can hopefully continue to use my LEO cartos on the Infinity... I am still a regular pipe smoker (though much less), and I like the tips on those. That was another off-putting thing about going to the 501 ... the shape. That's a personal thing though.
  24. Well, I finally got the Infinity Pro in the mail... and I like it so far. But I ran into a problem pretty fast. I guess I am spoiled by the Leo carto... it is maddening how quickly regular 501 cartridges run out! As heavy as I have been vaping, I have to fill up too frequently to really enjoy it. I ordered a J-Tank... hopefully that lasts longer. How long to cartos last in one of those before they need replaced?
  25. I don't know if this is enough of a "review" to put in that forum, so apologies in advance if it is in the wrong place. I am on a "try new things" kick, and decided to order the Tank Atomizer for my Boge Leo. While I didn't like that so much and quickly gave it away to a friend, I also ordered one of their tank twin coil clearomizers. It was $5 at Vaping Zone - a little steep compared to the cartos I usually get, but I figured it was worth a shot. After I ordered it, I of course went and looked for reviews (instead of before I ordered, naturally), and saw all the horror stories about Clearomizers breaking and leaking, and was instantly skeptical. When it arrived, after I tried out the tanks, I switched to the clearomizers. Having no experience with them, it took some time to figure out how to fill them - thankfully I figured it out. Again, I suppose I could have looked online for instructions before playing, but that would be too easy. I filled the thing up with 100% VG, and let it sit for a few minutes. I took a hit - and tasted a little burn. I guess I didn't let it sit long enough. After setting it aside for a while, I tried it again, and it was pretty good. It's been a couple days now, and I find I am going to it more than the other battery with the regular Dual Coil LR Carto on it. I've filled it a few times now - usually when it is 1/2 to 3/4 empty, so the wicks have never really had a chance to dry up. While I don't think it will replace the cartos, I like it. And I've had this thing in my pocket and toss it on my desk, and it hasn't leaked at all. So now I am wondering, now long is this thing going to last? Has anyone had any experience with them?
