BirdDog got a reaction from Bebop in Chris's Corner
It is a process for drilling or extracting oil from rock or shale using water pressure. It is becoming more common and is very controversial in the part of Colorado that I live in. There have been court cases and public votes to block fracking. The oil companies says it is safe but there are many sites that have drilled and contaminated the local water source. People have reported water from their faucets actually becoming flammable. Pretty scary in my opinion. It has been said that fracking causes earth quakes.
I live no where near the southern part of Colorado (Pueblo/Colo Springs). Visited there several times, nice area. I prefer to live farther north of Denver.

I get spit back from the Cleito tank and RDA, but after the coil warms up it stops. I don't have any spit back from my iSub tank, the coils have a screen at the top. Spit back never bothered me. Probably got used to it from using 510 cartomizers and dripping atomizers. I have been doing this way to long.

Pueblo may have a much lower cost of living than El Cajon, but I think the VA rep you spoke to is either pulling your leg or is living with his head in the clouds where the crime rate is concerned. It is higher than the national average in both violent and property crime rates while El Cajon is lower. In fact, Pueblo has a crime rate more than twice as high as El Cajon.
There are going to be trade-offs no matter where you end up.

Have family in Charleston. They didn't evacuate. Not surprised they are staying put. Family in Florida are on the other coast and not in any danger.
We have had some minor earthquakes in CO lately. It is a bit unusual. There is a lot of fracking going on in this state. Not buying into the fracking causes earthquakes theory just yet. I do believe fracking contaminates the water table here. We are more at risk from flooding, high winds and tornadoes.

BirdDog got a reaction from Somewhat experienced in RDA
I have an original Twisted Messes 2, it does come in a knock off version. I learned to build with this one and it was easy. Nice big work area and it will take all kinds of builds. It is a pricey RDA, knock off is cheaper and just as good from what I heard. I got mine through a connection at a very, very good price. I would buy another.

BirdDog reacted to Adversarious1 in How do you feel about minors vaping?
This one is a sort of a conundrum. Did he start vaping because he was smoking tobacco and he wanted to quit, or did he start vaping because it "looks cool" and he wanted to blow big clouds? While I would prefer minors abstain completely and don't support it, (admittedly hypocritical since I started smoking on my 15th birthday many moons ago), I would feel a little more at ease knowing the vaping is because he is using it as a tool to quit smoking rather than a toy to impress himself and his friends.

BirdDog got a reaction from Christopher in Sup Folks, what tank are you using?
It took me a few days to get used to the wide style drip tips that come with some of the tanks now. I am using the iSub Apex and the Cleito. I prefer the flavor from the iSub tank over the Cleito. The Cleito can run a bit hot and burns through liquid really fast. Both tanks now offer a RBA deck. I may buy the RBA for the Cleito, I want a little bit more control for flavor on that tank.
I also have the Kanger Drip Box (squonker). Used it quite a bit until I bought the Twisted Messes 2 RDA. Love it!

Most tobacco flavors I have tried either tasted horrible or had a real nutty flavor. It wasn't enough to keep me interested. I have found some of the cigar or pipe flavors to be pleasing. They reminded me of that smell from family members that used to smoke cigars and pipes. You just need to experiment with all types of flavors and find the ones that will work for you.

BirdDog got a reaction from danb in charger blink?
It has been a while since I charged an eGo style battery. Thinking back, the last ones I charged did the same thing. It is normal, but if it makes you nervous, don't leave it unattended while charging.

BirdDog reacted to Compenstine in Went 2 Tracking With a Redi-Mix Truck
I had a job today that was about 3 miles down this two track today. LOL The home owners son that drives a Redi-Mix truck in a city said that it was not possible to get one to his cabin. I told him to tell his son that us hillbillies can get our trucks in anywhere. LOL It was a nice ride out in the sticks. This is just the strait part and it turn several times.

I second your choice. Fast shipping and they also list videos explaining the products. Use vaporjoe13 for 13% off your order.
101Vape and Myvapestore are also good and reliable suppliers.

BirdDog reacted to Tam in Four years ago today...
... I picked up my first e-cigarette. It was an eGo 650 mAh topped off with a CE4 that was quickly replaced the next week with a T2 (short wick) that had just come out. Four days after that, I gave up the analogs altogether. Fast forward six months and I discovered Vapor Talk. The friendly and knowledgeable folks here helped my new found obsession grow. More friendly folks also worked hard to help me spend my money on new shiny things.
With all the support and fun on Vapor Talk, four years have passed. I want to thank you all for making the journey so much fun!

BirdDog got a reaction from Christopher in FDA Deeming Regulation - What we know so far
@Compenstine See the quote below of what will happen in 90 days. You still have 2 years before you need to file and pay. Who is to say what will happen in 2 years. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet.
The date the FDA choose was Feb 2007. Which we all know are the dreaded closed battery system. This is the whole point of HR 2058 and Cole-Bishop Amendment. This will give congress the ability to change that date. Hopefully something for the better. They are going to try and shoot for it to be changed to the year 2016.

BirdDog got a reaction from Christopher in FDA Deeming Regulation - What we know so far
I have heard various numbers for the application cost, it seems to have everyone perplexed at the moment.
If you are a supplier, please join SFATA. http://sfata.org/
All consumers should either join or keep an eye on Casaa. http://www.casaa.org/
Both these groups will keep you informed and tell you when, where and how to act to save the vaping industry.
Right now the two most important things we can do is write or call our reps to support the Cole-Bishop Amendment and HR 2058. Both of these provisions are set up to change the February 2007 grandfathered date the FDA has set.
The cigar industry is also included in the FDA deeming regulations. They are pretty pissed. Check out Youtube for their reactions.

Yes. If you spill eliquid on your hands, wash them right away.

Petitions are okay, but most end up going no where. Please see the link above and support the HR 2058 bill. This is all we have right now.

BirdDog got a reaction from jasonculp in FDA REGULATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT!
I have been listening and reading all kinds of information about the FDA Deeming Regulations. We have known since the beginning that regulation was going to happen, we just didn't know when. T he FDA regulation was set up to protect the consumer, not to harm you. The rules are meant for the suppliers and manufactures.
The first thing I am going to tell you is NOT TO PANIC! The vaping world is not ending in 90 days. But I do suggest that you start planning on how you are going to handle what will be happening in the next 3 years.
Some of the changes you will see in 90 days will be no free samples, contests or giveaways. Shops will not be able to have juice bars or be able to make coils for customers. Eliquid labeling will be changing and no new products will be released. Basically, the industry is going to become stagnant. What you see now is what we will have. You will see some vendors and shops close.
It is your duty as a consumer to support your suppliers that are heavily involved in advocacy. Writing or calling your Senators or Representatives will do nothing right now. Feel free to contact them if you must, I don't thing it will hurt. You need to keep an eye on CASAA and SFATA. They will tell you when, how and where to act. These groups are pouring through the information and deciding on what action we need to take.

BirdDog got a reaction from Earthling789 in FDA REGULATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT!
I started reading up on DIY and making coils. I have the supplies to experiment with DIY but haven't made anything yet. The farthest I have gone was to add nic to those 0 nic samples that suppliers send out. My next step is to learn how to mix flavoring and then move on from there.
I bought one of those Kanger squonk boxes, nice little unit. I have all the tools for building, just need to get wire and cotton. I have been practicing with the squonk box, changing out the cotton. Good so far. Will see how this works. I promise to ask questions before blowing my self up. lol
@Earthling789 thanks for the extra information and confirmation! You are awesome!

That was my plan. I was going to run down to the local shop and pick up some lower nic liquids. However, I have been using the 12 mg and I seem to not have any issues. Not feeling any side effects of nic overload and I finally figured out the draw on the sub ohm. Not harsh at all, but I really don't have any harsh flavors in my rotation to begin with. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to close up the airflow and seem happy. I am going to buy some lower nic liquids and make the switch in the tanks. Guess I am just a bit weird and keeping an eye on how I am feeling so I don't overload. Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.
I want to add a disclaimer to my last post for all vapers wanting to go to sub-ohm route, listen to what Earthling789 said in his reply post to me!
Do not do as I do or am doing. I have been vaping for a very long time, I know the effects of nicotine overload! I am being extremely careful vaping 12mg in a sub-ohm tank!
