I wouldn't worry too much about the affects on your cat. I have noticed improvements in my pets health since I quit. My cats will now lay on my lap when I am vaping and it doesn't seem to bother them. BTW - my vet told me that cats are one gray cell short of being human. I think if mine had thumbs they would rule the world.
-
I was afraid of what my friends might think about the smell and it would give my secret away. I am a very private person - my family complains about it all the time.
-
I don't know why I quit, many reasons I guess. Not being able to breath, the stench, dad having a stroke, pets and money. I did start to make changes years ago to my smoking habits some being good and some being very negative. I quit smoking at work, in public and in my car. I was so good at it, a lot of people were shocked to find out that I smoked. I smoked about a pack a day and I usually did this in a 6 hour period at home. I have lived in my house for 10 years and I never invited people over. Scary.

How We Feel About P'bo In Texas
BirdDog replied to TheSmokingMan's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat

While Arnold may have vetoed the e-cig bill he managed to sign one about finger prints, personal information and purchasing ammo. I can see the logic, but we all know it won't work. How many gang members actually buy the ammo? Story link: http://www.redding.com/news/2009/oct/12/gov-signs-ammunition-sales-bill/ Schwarzenegger signs ammunition sales bill Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today signed into law a bill that requires buyers of handgun ammunition to leave thumbprints and detailed personal information with registered ammo sellers, as well as put restrictions on online bullet sales. “Assembly Bill 962 reasonably regulates access to ammunition and improves public safety without placing undue burdens on consumers,” Schwarzenegger said in a letter explaining his decision. The new restrictions will take effect Feb. 1, 2011. Authored by Assemblyman Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, the bill bans direct shipping to Californians who buy bullets via mail order or over the Internet. Instead, any ammo they buy would need to be picked up at a licensed handgun ammunition dealer, similar to the way guns are currently bought and sold. The bill doesn’t require a waiting period to pick up ammunition as there is when purchasing firearms. All handgun ammunition must be kept behind store counters. Ammunition that can be used in both pistols and rifles — like the popular .22 caliber round used by target shooters and small game hunters — fall under the new restrictions. The bill also would require that those purchasing ammunition provide photo ID and a thumbprint. The information would be kept on file and made available to law enforcement agencies. Around a dozen gang-plagued cities in California have enacted similar local ordinances, geared to keep gang members from buying ammunition or tracking them down when they do. De Leon spokesman Dan Reeves has said the local laws have helped police track down 200 criminals who bought handgun ammunition. Some were drug dealers and many had large caches of illegal guns or explosives. Under the law, anyone who knowingly sells handgun ammunition to a felon would be committing a misdemeanor. The law also would make it a misdemeanor for documented gang members to possess handgun ammunition. The bill has been criticized by gun rights advocates, online ammunition retailers and Republicans. John Moffett, a clerk at Jones’ Fort gun store in Redding, said today that the bill will put an extra regulatory hurdle on consumers and ammunition dealers. “It’s going to be a hassle on both ends,” Moffett said. Though Schwarzenegger vetoed a similar bill in 2004, saying the federal government’s attempt at similar legislation proved to be “unworkable and offered no public safety benefit,” the governor today said that De Leon’s bill struck a fair balance between public safety and didn’t put undue burdens on bullet vendors and firearms dealers.

I am fairly certain that Chris was not looking to lay blame on your vendor. I think he and others are trying to figure out why the atty's are bad and if it is just a bad batch or some other problem. There was a rash of reports about bad atty's coming from a lot of different vendors. He has a pretty close relationship with a lot of vendors and has been a victim of getting some of those bad atomizers. @ Christopher - sorry if I spoke for you.
-
Wow! Just curious too. I bought two 510 atty's from DietSmokes, just about the time that everyone started posting problems. Mine have worked just fine. Hmmm...
-
I bought my 510 and 801 kit from Rocky Mountain Vapor. They both work great! I bought a couple 510 atty's from dietsmokes and there is no difference in vapor production with the originals that came with my kit. I also noticed that the draw was a bit tough with the 801 at first. This will sound weird, but I took the cartridge off and took a draw without it. It was easy, so I am saying that the flat tip mouth piece is the problem with the tight draw. I am pretty sure that the atty for my 801's is a 4 hole. I also read some where in this forum that the USB PT's for 801's just are not good period. It doesn't matter who they come from, the technology just stinks. Did you try and contact the guy from Rky Mtn? He is really popular on the other board and seems to answer all the posts he gets over there. No, I am not registered over there - the site is way too confusing. Good luck to you. But I as I read what is posted all over this board, it really comes down to personal preference. What one person thinks stinks another loves!

I bought the flat tips for the 510 from dietsmokes. Yes, they are bulky. I wanted to give them a try. I didn't like them, it was just weird. When I ordered my 801 there was a rubber tip on the atomizer. It is nice an tapered. It took me awhile to get used to it, especially the soft rubber. What is strange is that the pre-filled cartridges that came with the kit are a hard plastic. I have not deconstructed those to give them a try. (i only drip)

I also use a track ball not a regular mac mouse. I guess I should have posted that. Macs do respond to a right click, you just need a mouse/track ball that has the right clicker button. I like it much better than using the control click. And yes you do get all the features, ie cut, paste, copy, save, download, bookmark, open in new window, get info etc.
-
Hey now! I have a Mac and I can right click!!!!!!

Nice review and very interesting. Where is the one to make the boobs bigger?

Welcome to the forums! I am sure that others will jump in here and give you some advice. But please poke through the forum a bit more before ordering. Most of us like the 510, 801 and 901. There is also a very strong consensus for the VP1, VP2 and the Janty stick. Battery charging really is not a problem with any of the models listed. The strongest and best batteries will be the VP1 and the VP2, according to most of the posts on this site. Please watch the videos that Chris and Sean have done. There are also videos and written reviews posted by other people. See the info area located at the top of the page. There is also a list of suppliers there. I have posted a link to the info area. You may want something that is close to the size of a regular cigarette but once you vaping the size will not matter! http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?app=custompages Currently I have a 510 and 801. I love them both!

Fda Warns On Circumventing Flavored-Cigarette Ban
BirdDog replied to BirdDog's topic in General Vape News
I am so on the same page as you. I support the president (I did not vote for him) and I am not willing to treat him like a single entity. Right after the election one of our local high schools petitioned to change it name to Barrack Obama. Too soon, too soon. -
The leaking on my 510 was getting on my nerves too. I found that 2 drops works the best. Also, when replacing the cartridge after dripping, don't cover the hole on the top of the cartridge. I noticed this causes air pressure, like a plunger.

How do you know for sure that he gave out his mailing list?

This is a story from the Wall Street Journal. This starts today. Scary how we could soon be affected by this. It is stated in the article that the ban is in regards to "any roll of tobacco wrapped in paper". Link to story - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125364409549231483.html Wall Street Journal By JENNIFER CORBETT DOOREN Food and Drug Administration officials warned companies Tuesday to think twice about circumventing a new ban on certain flavored cigarettes by introducing similar products like little cigars. Specifically, the ban affects cigarettes with fruit, candy or clove flavors. Although such products -- primarily made by small, private firms or imported into the U.S. -- account for a tiny segment of cigarettes smoked in the U.S., the ban is the first major step taken by the FDA since the agency was given jurisdiction over the tobacco industry in June. Health officials also said they hoped the ban would stop many young people from trying smoking. "The appeal to youth is overwhelming," said Matthew L. Myers, the president of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, one of the groups that pushed for enactment of the legislation giving the FDA authority over tobacco products. "They are starter products." FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg noted that 90% of adults who smoke started as children. Products affected by the ban include cigarettes with flavors like clove, vanilla and grape. In 2006, tobacco maker R.J. Reynolds, part of Reynolds American Inc., agreed to stop marketing flavored Camel cigarettes as part of an agreement with state attorneys' general. The ban doesn't apply to menthol cigarettes, but the FDA said it is "examining options" for regulating menthol cigarettes as well as other tobacco products like smokeless tobacco products that are also available in several flavors. At least one company, Kretek International Inc., which imports Djarum-brand tobacco products from Indonesia, has started importing cigars similar to the size of a cigarette that contain flavors like clove and vanilla, amid confusion about whether the ban applies to cigars. Kretek didn't immediately return a call for comment. The tobacco law allows the FDA to regulate cigars but requires the agency to first issue regulations deeming cigars to be subject to the law, a process that could take years. However, Lawrence Deyton, the director of the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, explained that the federal definition of a cigarette includes "any roll of tobacco wrapped in paper," suggesting certain cigars could immediately fall under the tobacco law and the flavored-cigarette ban. An FDA lawyer said the FDA would look at "little cigars" and similar products on a "case-by-case basis." In a memo to the industry, the FDA said the tobacco law applies to all tobacco products that meet the definition of a "cigarette" even if they aren't labeled as cigarettes or "are labeled as cigars or some other product."

Killed Two 901 Batterys In One Day?
BirdDog replied to EasyE's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
It is the Janty Stick. I thought dietsmokes had them, but I can't find it on the website. But Janty has them. See the supplier list. http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?app=custompages&do=show&pageId=10 -
Do I Need A Diff Charger For A Manual Battery?
BirdDog replied to EasyE's topic in General Vaping Discussion
That is a nice idea. I just got a manual 801 and I am not really liking the adapter for the charger. I will have to give that a whirl. -
For those of you that have the 801 do you use the automatic batteries or the manual? I understand that with the manual batteries you need the adapter for the charger. I only have a 510 and I want to buy something else to try. I thought I would give the 801 a go. Which do you prefer, automatic or manual?

Weird, just weird. The one I pulled the fibers out of still works fine. It works just like the other 3 attys that I have and I didn't remove those fibers. Hmmm....I guess this can be chalked up to another E-cig mystery.

Good News: Your Driving Test Has Concluded
BirdDog replied to Christopher's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I do have to agree about women drivers most are really horrible even with kids in the car. I really hate saying that, being a woman. That video was great! She really has some skills. The most scariest and funniest moment I had was after flying for 24 hours and getting into a car with a woman that was a race car driver! OMG! It would have been much easier and really enjoyable if I was not sleep deprived, it was not rush hour, and we were in America! That was my first experience with driving on the opposite side of the road, in the front passenger seat (the driver seat in US) and round abouts. That invisible brake that I kept pushing was not helping! I was so glad to have a beer when we arrived at our final destination. -
I know your post is not directed at any 1 person and I understand where you are coming from. Crocs are good example, it didn't take long before cheap copies hit the stores. But there are a lot of DIY people, who like to make their own, for their own use, and it basically cost nothing. Not everybody is going to want to manufacture and sell these. There are more people in this world that would rather have someone else make it for them and they are willing to spend the money. If anyone is going to come up with an idea, I highly suggest they keep it to themselves and if they decide to share it before marketing/selling, make them sign a confidentiality agreement. Her mistake was allowing someone to post a YouTube video. We live in America, a free enterprise system with (so we are told) no monopolies. He who moves the fastest makes the money. I am not sure if she could have patented the idea. It looks like her product is made from existing patented products. That really is a good question. I really do understand what your point is. It would be great if every single idea was not copied at the original inventors/designers expense. I wish the originator the best and I hope she makes money.

It works nicely. It could use more thinking on my part to make it better. I don't really take my e-cigs with me when I leave home, a habit that has carried over from my analog days. I will admit that I am lazy. After I was done with making that applicator I realized I already had something that was better. I have these small bottles that I use to oil my guns with. The tips on these bottles are made for dropping oil in hard to reach places. We used them in our print shop. I am guessing the tips are aluminum and it measures about 1.5" long. The tip is very fine, like a syringe needle. Here is the lazy part, it fits into the hole of the cartridge. I don't have to take the cartridge off to drip any more, and unlike using a syringe I don't need to draw the fluid into first. The tip is not pointy so there is no risk of sticking myself. So far that seems to work out well for me. The down side is that it isn't portable, I don't have any caps for the ends. I don't know where we got these little bottles from, they probably came with our presses. I am sure you can pick them up at a hardware store or maybe even a shop that sells sewing machines and supplies.
