  1. I wasn't sure where to post this - feel free to move it if necessary. For the past several weeks, I have noticed that one of my cats was not doing well. It all started out with weight loss and some changes in his regular daily routine. Being unemployed, I have had to make some changes in the care of my pets. I was not able to afford the “high end food”, and the really nice self-cleaning litter box broke. I blamed the weight loss on the food and the routine change on the litter box. Please note that this cat mostly stayed outside during the day and preferred to use the “nature litter box” instead of the one in the house. But cats are finicky and really don’t take to change very easily. As the weeks progressed I noticed that he was not getting better but getting worse. So I knew that the changes I had made were not the problem. Coming from a family of medical people I knew that something was very wrong. Last week I noticed he had shortness of breath and was sleeping more than usual and didn’t want to go outside. I had a feeling that he had cancer. From growing up with lots of pets and having to put them down for several reasons, I have learned that going above and beyond to cure them is not really worth their suffering. Today I took him to the vet and he confirmed my feeling that my cat has cancer and that it is probably in his lungs. His breathing had become really labored and he was only moving air mostly through one lung. He was so agitated that I decided not put him down. We gave him a cortisone shot to help him feel a bit better so I could take him home to settle down. Tomorrow morning I will take him back and have him put to sleep. What really breaks my heart is that I smoked for all those years, and I am blaming my self for the possible cause or speed at which he developed the cancer. It just burns me that this could have caused his problem, even though there is no definitive answer to why this has happened. His name is Scooter and he is 10 years old. Scooter is black with long soft fur and has the sweetest, loving personality. He is the klutziest cat I have ever known. He was not a good hunter; in fact he caught his first bird a few weeks ago. Stealth was not one of his finer qualities. I will miss him. Thank you for reading my story. I hope that now we have all given up the nasty cigarettes, that none of us will ever have to confront the heart break of possibly being the one that caused harm to our family members and pets.
  2. Thanks for the post. Looking forward to your video review.
  3. Remember when Zyban was all the rage as a stop smoking aide and the insurance companies wouldn't pay for it? Well my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin (anti-depressant) instead of Zyban because insurance would cover it. Basically he told me they were the same drug. Now they claim a lot of anti-depressants on the market have warnings about thoughts of suicide as adverse effects. I am not in a complete understanding of how Chantix works as a smoking cessation product, but it does have a form of anti-depressant in the mix. So it does not surprise me that there are reports of sucide or attempts when using this product. Wellbutrin did work for me, I had quit smoking for about 2 years. Then as the story goes, one thing lead to another, and I was smoking again.
  4. Who was it that sent the 50 caliber shells to a vendor for modification? I was wondering how that worked out.
  5. I have also had the same symptoms for the last few weeks. I was sick a few weeks ago and I think some of it is still hanging on. Also, the weather has become much colder and the furnace is running. I live in Colorado and the air is already dry so the furnace is also drying out the air. I found that running a room humidifier has helped with the stuffy nose and coughing. So I guess what I am recommending is that you try a humidifier at night while you sleep. You may also want to try leaving the bedroom door open, if you usually leave it closed, at night to let the air circulate better. Good luck, I hope it get better for you.
  6. So sorry to hear about your Mac Book Pro. How do you like the Macbook Air? I am down to just my Mac book Pro. MY G4 had a power supply failure which took the board with it. The computer was more than six years old, it is just easier to replace it. Anyways, I hooked my laptop to a keyboard, mouse and monitor. Works like a charm. So if I spill anything it will happen on the external keyboard.
  7. No way! That is funny, I was just thinking if anyone on here shared the same birthday! What got me thinking was Sinikal saying he missed Nixon. Nixon's birthday is also the 9th.
  8. That is a lot of work. Do you time it with a computer and run music?
  9. When have we not hijacked a thread?
  10. That is hilarious! What a sight that must have been!
  11. I am glad that helped you out. I have the 801 low bridges from Arno. They are great!
  12. I have not put up a tree in about 3 years and I won't be putting one up this year. I do have a nice tree that I bought at Hobby Lobby on close out for $30. Now my parents use it. The last time I put up my tree, I would come home from work and it would be on the floor. My cats are regular tree climbers when outside, so when the Christmas tree goes up they think they are entitled to climb it. I do put lights in the windows and put a wreath on the door. I really don't miss putting up the tree and having to take it down.
  13. Take a look at this thread from a few weeks ago. It may offer you some insight into the metallic taste. Joye Atomizers Metallic Taste
  14. Quoted from the article. "No.7 E Cigarettes -- The only globally respected, well known and trusted brand. The No.7 E-Cigarette. View their website for more information. http://www.No7ECigarettes.com" Where do they get off claiming to be the most respected and well known brand? What about all the other brands? They all deliver the same thing - VAPOR! But I am not thrilled about the claims this company claims in the press release about e-cigs helping combat the flu. Doesn't this put us in the same hole when e-cigs claimed to be a "quit smoking" device. I find this press release misleading. Don't get me wrong, I am fascinated by the study of PG and it effects on the flu. I look forward to the day that something so simple as PG is going to fix this problem and put the medical world on a spin. I hope it is the e-cig that puts them in the tail spin! UH! Stop promoting as a cure all! Lets get the e-cig on the market and not in the battle field with something else that someone can say is squat! Not only will we have the tobacco companies wanting to squash us, but we will have the drug companies chasing the e-cig as well. I am so confused. The madness. According to how the article is written, the mice were sprayed with PG then the virus was sprayed. All mice are okay, then they sprayed the virus again. What are we going to do? Make everyone live in a tent with a continuous spray of PG? Please take care of yourself this flu season. Wash your hands and please don't put your fingers in your mouth. Please cover your mouth or nose when coughing or sneezing. Done now venting. Thanks! As I am typing this, there is a info-mercial on tv about coffee and how it can cure diabetes. Please just stop!
  15. That was great find, thanks for sharing. I heard a news report earlier this spring about the increase demands for tobacco seeds. People are starting to grow their own tobacco because of the higher prices and the taxes. The report also stated that it takes about 1 year before the tobacco is ready to use. It must be the wait time for drying and curing.
  16. I got a nice menthol sample from Awesome Vapor. I really want to give it a try, but have been afraid because of the chatter about the flavor hanging on. I guess I am just going to have to break down and use it on a extra atty.
  17. It sounds like pant pockets are not the best way to carry your PV. I usually have on a hoodie or jacket and the pockets work well except for the pocket fuzz. I only use a case to carry all the extra stuff, which then ends up in my purse.
  18. I have a 510 with the same thin, pointy and raised look. It works just fine, it just looks different than my others. I think it is a cosmetic defect.
  19. Good to know. Puresmoker is the only other place that I have found a low bridge atty and I found that quite by accident. You really can't go wrong with Arno.
  20. PureSmoker has a low bridge atomizer. They refer to it as the RN4072. I am pretty sure this can be used with 801. I have never ordered any products from PureSmoker so I can not vouch for their service or quality of product. PureSmoker Please correct me if these atomizers will not fit the 801.
  21. I like a vanilla latte, coffee or tea with mine. It must be the vascular constriction and dilation effect that I can't seem to give up. Okay, how stupid is this?! I actually have a degree in respiratory therapy. 90% of my class smoked and drank coffee all day.
  22. When reading the instruction booklet that came with my 510, it said the batteries can be charged up to 300 times. So if you charge the battery once a day they would last almost an entire year. I thought that was very interesting.
