Found An Item That Cleans And Fills Cartomizers In Seconds!
mjradik replied to palermo45's topic in General Vaping Discussion
It just looks like to much trouble than its worth. Its says its suposed to make thing easier. Doesn't look like it. Now really, how hard is it to turn a bottle over and put in some drops of juice???? Geeze.... Even the condom fill methoer looks much much easier... I've never used it, but it looks like a piece of crap to me. And yes, I could make it my self for less than $2.00 -
Something to keep in mind. 1ml of 60mg nic, if obsorbed 100% can kill a healthy non-smoking adult. It takes 80-120mg for a smoker. 2 drops of 990mg nic can kill any one.

But my question is how could they tax or prevent importing of eliquid for the people that make thier own jucies? They can't tax PG or VG. Thats used for other purposes/food. They can't tax the flavorings because its used in foods. They can regulate the nicotine, but that can get tough because its used for other purposes like insecticides/pesticides... etc..

Thats awsome. I think Dr Oz has really good tips/tricks, and its a great boost thats he likes them.. Bout *** time a reputable medical professional supports it publicly.
-
I dunno. Now that I solved my ego-t leaking issue I like the attys. Very simple and good flavor. But agian, I can't judge or make a descion until I try a carto.

Perfumer's Apprentice Tobaco Flavors.
mjradik replied to Chainvape's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
I haven't but I'm getting ready to get a bunch more flavors from TPA within a few days. I'm going to order 1 or 2 tabbaco flavors in that order, but I really plan on using them as a 'brackgound' flavors more than anything. -
Thanks all for the advice. Within a week or so I'll have both sides of the carto vrs attys debate and will be able to chime in my my opinions... lol.
-
So this might seem like a dumb question, but I only have experience with the ego-T. I want to try using a carto to see the difference in flavor/experience/etc.. Based on what I read the ego-T batteries are 510 compatible. So I should just be able to buy a 5 pack of boge or Yeti cartos, and I’ll be good to go correct? Fill-em, screw them on, then vape? Do they come with or do I need a mouth piece or something? Remember I’ve been monogamous to the ego-t lol….

Well I put my smoke free banner 24 hours after my last analog, but I could because I knew I was quitting for good. If you tihnk you'll be quitting for good, go for it. And it will keep you honest, lol.... When I think about having an analog, then I'm tihnking in my head... "well.... can't tell people I've been smoke free for 3 weeks... and got to change my banner... lol" Thats if I want to be completely honest... haha

Below are two video's on youtube that talk about the wick and cleaning/disasembling the atty. You've prolly seen them already, but just incase you haven't, here you go. My personal opinion on replacement parts are... "Is it really worth it?" The Ego-T Atty is only $10. Actually I now order mine from a site that ships out of NC, and not china, and the are $8 each, or a 5-pack for like $30. For something that cheep, just buy an entire new one and be done with it, not worth the hassle trying to fix it. Of course too, you run the risk of DOA atty's, so make sure the place you buy it from has a DOA policy. I personally have a 50% DOA rate on the atty's I buy directly from China (but the company replaced them, no questions asked). However, I'm going to start ordering from the place that ships out of NC because its cheaper, and only takes 2 days in the mail to get it, but I haven't checked on their DOA policy yet.

So I’ve only been vaping for almost a month. I use the eGo-T Type A non-LR atty.. None of my working atty’s quit on me yet, BUT I did order a lot to ‘Stock up’. However 3 of the 6 have been DOA. That’s a 50% DOA rate. The company I ordered from has been good about sending me replacements, so that’s good. However, 50% DOA seems high. I know these come from China, but com’on, really? 50% bad rate? Am I just un-lucky? I’m in the computer field, and I order A LOT of electronics from china, and nothing has been a DOA rate of 50%. Maybe 5%, or 10% if I want to be on the high side. What are other people’s experiences on receiving DOA atty’s? Are they as high as mine?

Dyi Home Nicotine Strength Test Kit And Supplies
mjradik replied to mjradik's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
Stupid eBay!! They removed my listing because I didn’t state the percentage of sulfuric acid of the ‘.12N Sulfuric Acid’ They say sulfuric acid with a strength greater than 25% is not allowed. UMM, yes I did, hence the .12N sulfuric acid, as in 0.12%... That’s less than 1% sulfuric acid, as in 99.88% water, as in its safe…. Idiots.. Anyways, I relisted stating <1% to comply with their regulations. So below is the new eBay link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200644209515 -
Nicotine is not lab produced, though I’m sure it’s possible since it’s just a chemical compound. Remember nicotine is also used in other non-tobacco products, like pesticides/insecticides/ etc, and Pharmaceutical companies buy it for their stop-smoking aids. There is a big market for nicotine (the most used drug in the US). I know tabacoo companies extract the nicotine themselves (they actually make the cigs with nicotine removed/free tobacco leaves, and add the nicotine back in at controlled amounts for quality control), haha, that makes me laugh… making analogs with quality control, haha. But anyways, I’m sure there are other companies out there that just extract it, purify it, and sell it to companies at it’s pure form of 990mg. Ecig companies, and companies that produce their own liquid, buy this pure nicotine then dilute it with PG or VG making it a less toxic strength. 2-3 drops of pure nicotine will kill you. They make their own juice, or dilute it to less than 100mg and will sell it to the DIY’ers or resellers in bulk for distribution. It would be tough for the average person to buy strength over 100mg. But also remember, 1ml of 60mg nicotine can kill an average non-smoking adult if 100% of it is absorbed at once. For a regular smoker, that strength goes up to 80-120mg because our bodies are used to and like the nicotine.

Catmon. I know EXACTLY what your talking about, and how you feel. I’ve been analog free for 2 weeks now. (a 15 year, 1.5pack/day habbit) I vaped and smoked 3-4 analogs/day for the first week of vaping, before quitting analogs all together. My wife still smokes and as no intention on moving to the e-cig at this time. I personally do not mind her smoking around me, because I have no interest in going back to analogs. The bad smell is a huge turn off, especially when you are used to vaping sweet flavors. I would rather inhale sweet than nasty. But it is the rituals/urges that want me to smoke sometimes, not the smell of her analog. As far as the hit and coughing. I coughed a lot in the beginning. I started at 18/mg, then quickly moved to 12mg. I very rarely cough now because I’m used to it. However, I now find myself wanting to cough sometimes, because it’s a sign of a power throat hit. As you vape more and more, I think some people get used to it, and the throat hits diminishes. Adding menthol/clove favoring to the juice does help get the hit back a little. I also sometime purposely do a power draw real fast to get a good hit every once in a while. I do miss the power hit I got in the beginning, and can prolly get that back if I up my nicotine level to 24, but I don’t want to do that because it defeats the purpose quitting smoking, and eventually nicotine all together. My experience in quitting. First 3 days are tough. The hardest part is quitting your smoking habits/rituals. Like for me, I always smoked when I got busy at work, or stressed. I like to go outside and relax. Even though I’m doing that while vaping, and I’m getting nicotine, my brain was telling me its just not the same. Same thing goes for after eating a big meal. I want to smoke! Its my habbits telling me, not the nicotine.. J You eventually get through it. Now two weeks in, still going strong, however, about once every couple days I get a big urge. I eat sunflower seeds at that time which helps. I did have a big urge yesterday, and nothing seemed to help. I made up some strong 24mg menthol juice, took like 5 hits, and the urge was over. The huge throat hit and coughing helped big time then. I’m going to keep a little bit of the powerful juice around to help with ‘urges’ Also, I recommend stocking up on A LOT of different flavors. Like 10-15 or more, The key is to switch flavors a lot to keep it ‘fresh’. Also you will find that flavors you like in the beginning, you won’t like later on, and vice versa. You don’t want to get bored with a couple flavors, and finding your self going back to an analog for something ‘different’.

Like many here, I make my own ejuice. However, I had a situation about a week ago were the ejuice I made was way too strong, but according to my calculations, it shouldn’t have been. I found this post, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/43988-simple-easy-diy-test-mg-ml-nicotine-follow-up-dvaps-method.html which describes a simple way to test the nicotine content in juices. To make a long story short, I had to purchase the supplies online, and cost me just as much in shipping (because I ordered from three different suppliers) than the actual product. It cost me over $26 total for everything. To help fellow vapors, I decided to order a lot more supplies in bulk, to save on shipping, then put test kits together, so you can get everything you need from one place, and save $$ on shipping. (I also helps I only live 15 minutes from the main suppliers HQ, lol, but didn’t know that until AFTER I received the product and paid for shipping…) I posted my kits on ebay. The link is here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200643475180 So if you want the get all the supplies and save $$, check it out. Moving back to the original situation, it turns out, the base nicotine mixture I bought, ended up being 30% more powerful than it should have been. I was able to re calculate, and make a proper strength ejuice that I’m happy with. I know the test is accurate. I tested 3 different 18mg store bought juices from forevervapor, and they all tested to 17.47mg. Also 2 different 24mg custom mixes from myfreedomsmoke, which came out to 25.24 and 23.3 respectively. Close enough….. Plus my custom juices I made myself, once recalculated and retested, were a lot better for me to vape. I know most people didn’t ace chemistry in high school, but the average person should be able to read the results within .1ml, which would put the margin of error under 2mg for nicotine content. The test works best with clear pg/vg juice, but will also work with colored store bought juices. I personally also got it to work with a dark red and brown colored ejuice, but it can be a little tougher detecting the color change.

I never ordered from juicyvapor, but I have mixed various amounts of different types of fruit flavors with great success. You can never go wrong with fruit falvors. I also like to add a drop or 2 of very strong cloves flavor or menthol for a better kick. Honey and caramel works well as a background flavor. I did try and mix chocolate with starwberry, but it didn't turn out well, lol.. I'm about to order about 20 more flavors from perfumersapprentice , and do some more experimenting.. I'll let you know.
-
I have a question to add to this. I make my own juices now. I do store my mixed juices and my high strength nicotine in a pitch dark closed cabinet at room temperature. I bought a liter of plain PG and VG to use in my mixes. I assume no special storage requirements are needed for plain PG/VG correct? Because the dark/dryness is needed for the nicotine?

I agree with everyone here. I ordered menthol from their sister site forevervapor.com (not sure if it’s exactly the same or not, but I’m sure it is) I gave it great reviews. Nice and strong, great flavor, great hit. I added it to my other juices to give them a ‘kick’. I ordered the 30ml, and I ran out I vapped it so much, but I make my own juices now… FYI, doesn’t go well when dinking a cup of coffee, lol… its like that taste you get when drinking coffee right after brushing your teeth, haha..

A note on testing. Cut off a piece a wire hanger, or other thin metal wire to use to STIR the mixture. ‘Swirling’ it doesn’t work that well because its tough to get the thick juice to mix with the water/acid. You can ‘shake’ it, but that introduces air bubbles which will throw off your measurements by a .1ml or so. Its funny because the supplies only cost $16, but its like $12 to ship, lol.. I was thinking about buying the supplies in bulk (to save on shipping), and selling them on ebay for like $20. I think some people did that a year or so ago. But I would only do it if there is plenty of interest. It’s a win/win for everyone because they will save $$ from buying the supplies from different suppliers and paying too much for shipping. I haven’t checked to see if some of these DYI ejuice web sites sell the supplies, but I don’t think they do. I know myfreedomsmokes sells nice glass graduated cylinders, but not the acid/blue.

well the link to HOW to test the nicotine is below. However, .12N acid and bromothyol blue is not avialable anywhere locally for me. So I ordered it from amazon from a 'Taylor' supplier. (USA General) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/43988-simple-easy-diy-test-mg-ml-nicotine-follow-up-dvaps-method.html Goto amazon or anywhere else for the following. 'Taylor R-1003H-A - Bromthymol Blue Indicator .75 Oz ' http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BGROEY 'Taylor Replacement Reagents Sulfuric Acid #9 ' http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IXIPO I also got an Inexpensive graduated cylinder. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VBW3RO (but of course it cost more to ship than to buy it lol) You might want to shell out the extra $10 and get a nice glass cylinder. FYI on sizes. The acid comes in larger/smaller sizes. Depending on the nic strength, you can use 0.5 to 2+ ml of acid per test. so if you buy the 60ml size it will give you about 60 tests or so. Only 2 drops of the blue are used per test, so the 22ml size will give you almost 500 tests lol.. A gallon of distilled water can be purchased at you local grocery store for a $1. And if you make your own juices, I'm going to assume you already have pipettes/syringes/etc for proper measurements.

Joye Ego T Leaking Issue
mjradik replied to sirvapesalot's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
One last update on this. I purchased a 12 gauge needle off ebay for 99 cents, including shipping. These are the kind tattoo’ers use, or used for IV’s. They are larger needles with 2.7mm outer diameter. I believe the wick tube in the atty is close to 3.5+ mm in diameter. So I grinded the sharp pointed end down to be blunt (for safety reasons so I don’t poke my self which I did originally, lol…) Also put a good layer of duct tape on the end to give me grip. Then I press down on the center of the softcap using the other end of the needle, which puts in a perfect 2.7mm hole in the middle. This allows the wick tube to fit through nicely, and the remaining 1mm of surrounding soft plastic to form a great seal around the tube. Smoked several ml’s of my thinnest juice which always gave me problems in the past with no issues. (until about the 5th or so refill when the plastic starts to get too stretched out and them minimal leaking occurs, but its very very minimal) -
Just wanted to give an update. I ordered the nicotine testing materials on the web. I received them. To make a long story short, the base nic juice ended up being about 90mg, not 60. Also, due to user error, I made my juice incorrectly. My juice that I vapped ended up being over 30mg, not 12, like I wanted. Since I was already vaping through out the day, and vapped some strong stuff compared to what I was used to, I'm sure that what was causing the problem. I made new juice, and tested to be closer to 15mg with about 8%vg, and been vaping it for 2 days now with no problems...

ok thanks... Sounds good to me...

So I’ve ordered flavorings from DIY Flavor shack, and are happy with them. Nice/strong concentrated flavors. (some being as low as 5% flavoring needed, while others are 10-20%) I have seen many posts on this site referring to TPA. Their prices are much much better than flavor other sites, so I was wondering if their flavors are strong as well? Any one regularly order from them? Are their flavorings normally 20% or better? I would think that because their prices are better, their flavors are less concentrated. Am I wrong? Any 3rd party, non-bias, recommendations/opinions? Thanks.

Joye Ego T Leaking Issue
mjradik replied to sirvapesalot's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
So I've been using the soft bottoms for over a week now. Wanted to give another update. Overall, still feel they are better than the hard bottoms. I did have like1 or 2 that leaked from the start. I guess it all depends. I guess when it gets pierced by the wick tube, if it tears it too much, that how leaking occurs. Works great with my thicker juices. So going to start using a VG mix from now on because it is thicker... (but I have other issues I have to work out with VG first as described in my other posts, but thats a null point here...) However, what I am going to try also, is get a leather hole puncher and puch out like a 1mm wide hole in the soft bottom. (not just put a hole in it, but remove 1mm of plastic to make the hole) this way the soft bottom will form around the wick tube and not tear, I feel it will create a better seal.
