The Russian 91% is a good RBA, although these days mentioning anything Russian might not be a good thing. lol

Hitting a bit of a snag

@Tam @Uncivil11 I think it will be awhile before I develop any stable preferences. Thinking about it the last little while, it is no surprise that in the beginning I needed something with really strong flavor to taste it at all. The citrus flavors would actually started giving me heartburn after awhile as well as become very bright and cutting. Vapor's tongue is something I am starting to get a handle on. How to switch back and forth between flavors, what to drink, and watching the temperature of my vapes. I've got six fruit DYI recipes I really am enjoying at this point. I still keep some citrus to shock the tongue from time to time. All in all it's going really good. It's a process.

  3. Right? That "shinyitis" is pretty terminal... or so I've heard.

  4. After the first year and a half or so I moved away from fruit juices because it seemed like they were all too "sharp" with regard to the flavor. I would add some vanilla or a creamy creme brule to cut the citrus, which is really weird because in my day to day, I love sharp citrus. Mojito was a long time favorite that I still go back to every so often, but I add a little something to smooth it out. My ADV for the past three or more years is an flavor that tastes like the Almond Joy candy bar. I never would have guessed that this flavor would have a hold on me this long. My vaping tastes (pun intended) is so different than my food/drink preferences. Vaping's weird that way.

  5. Picked up a brand new old style tab meter/fire box. Not the mini. Found it at a B&M for $24.00. Was shocked!

  7. That helps, thanks @Bebop and @Walt. So far from what I've experienced, this tank doesn't seem suited for MTL style of vaping.

  8. Because the vapor is so hot I'm barely able to take a hit longer than a second or two max. I'm looking into adjusting my juice ratios now. Thanks for chiming in!

  9. First of all... WOW TAM! You pulled the trigger on a Baby Beast! Congrats! Yes, there is a difference in heat produced from sub-ohm coils. Honestly, If I'm going to go below 0.3 Ohms, I drop to 3mg Nicotine or less, and use Temp Control. A 0.25 Ohm Kanthal coil is much hotter (to me) than a 0.2 Ohm SS coil at the same Wattage. And some tanks I've used (The Arctic comes to mind) would set me on fire even at the low power of 16-20W using their 0.2 Ohm ceramic coil. When all things are equal (type of col), lower Ohms and higher Wattage do tend to maintain the same vapor/heat sensation, although you do have to open the air and reduce your Nicotine because Nicotine absorbs faster as you lower resistance (heat it faster/hotter). 1.8 Ohm and 18mg Nicotine are virtually equal to 0.3 Ohm and 3mg... although to get the same vapor and heat, you do have to increase power to the lower Ohm coil... obviously Nicotine absorption and heat are not exactly linear progressions, but they are close enough for gov't work I don't have a Baby Beast (yet), so I can't give better advice, but my first thoughts are the usual... longer drip tip, lower Nicotine, higher VG, more air, slower/faster draw... and the best advice is to use TC! Dialing down the temperature is a real key for me when using the Subtank Minis. When I'm using 0.15 Ni200 coils, I can crank up the heat to 500F (prefer around 450F), but when I use 0.2 Ohm SS coils, I find the exact same heat and vapor can be achieved at 380F. I've wrapped my own SS coils at 0.15 Ohm and can push those above 400F, but not much more before it feels like I'm drinking scalding hot tea If your mod has TCR mode, you can use TC with almost any coil. What type of wire are the Q2 coils made from?

  10. I do what Walt does. I use a wide bore tip and I don't get my lips or tongue in front of the vapor. I bite the tip and get my tongue out of the way hehe....

  15. Give me a minute to pick my jaw up from the floor. It immediately dropped upon learning @Tamis pulling the trigger on a Baby Beast. The only coils I've used are the T8 (.15 ohm) and the Q2 (.4 ohm version that comes pre-installed). Both coils provide a nice balance between flavor and vapor. The T8 coil has a slightly tighter draw than the Q2 and as a result, it is easier to mimic the MTL style you prefer. And yes, even though it is a sub ohm tank and is meant for DTL hits, it is possible to MTL with this tank.

Three months. That time in past attempts to ditch analogs that I was an agitated mess. I celebrated with a Predator and a Limitless. I continue to be amazed and grateful. I have four diy liquids that I enjoy more than any over the counter e-liquids I have tried and absolutely love trying new RBA builds and wire configurations. I want to know what the single coil provided with the limitless is. Five wraps of porous multi-strand coil that meters out at .26 ohm. Amazing! Right in that sweet spot between .2 and .3 ohms that yield that huge latitude of applied power with enjoyable vapes. Obviously a lot more to look forward to with this hobby/direction. Venison potato soup in the crock pot and ice cream in the fridge. And I will be able to fully taste them! Looking forward to six months! Sent from my iPad using The Vapor Talk mobile app

  17. And here I was thinking that if her "friend" has one, then why not ask her "friend" where to get one.
