  1. I keep shop rags around. In my car, in my work laptop case, in my desk at work...places like that. My leakage issues are typically limited to the things I mentioned above; warm days or drastic altitude changes. When a tank starts to leak, I wrap a shop rag around the air holes or slots and blow into the tank to blow out the liquid that has leaked. After that, I fire the mod to heat the coil and simultaneously blow. That will burn off any liquid that didn't get blown out. Then I return to my regularly scheduled vaping session. Preventing leaks in the first place is key, as you know. Keeping your tanks in good working order (regularly inspect O-rings and gaskets, check glass integrity, proper installation of coils, etc.), don't over-fill, keep tanks upright (even the best tanks will leak when they are on their side), and keep in mind that thinner liquids are going to be more prone to leaking will help prevent leaks from happening in the first place. Also, one other cause of leaks is NOT vaping a tank completely. If a tanks with liquid sits for a couple of days without being used, the vacuum that is created through the act of vaping will slowly release and liquid WILL leak out.

    Looking to Make Friends

Welcome! You are in luck. This one of the friendliest forums I've stumbled into. Lots of folks here with a lot of great experience. Quick note, I'm not one of those folks. I just started one month earlier than you. But like every enthusiastic newbee, I still like to share what I think I know, lol. Regardless, great choice and again welcome!

  3. Ok just got some stuff I've been waiting for in the mail: Smok TF-RBTA Smok TFV12 RBA Edition (Black) 2 replacement TFV12 glasses (Still waiting for the Smok GPriv) Just opened up the TF-RDTA to see if it would fit the prebuilt Staple Staggered Fused Clapton coils I ordered that didn't fit in my TFV8. And they fit (barely)! Had to wiggle them in diagonally. Love how it looks [emoji41] About to install the 2nd coil, pulse, wick... All that good stuff. Oh yeah, and VAPE! 4. I would recommend using a baby beast by smok it's a sub-ohm tank. I used in myself when I started vaping it works great with all kinds of juice. an it has a good variety of coils you can get for it. you can get it online for around $30 and the coils at my local shop for about $3.50 it may vary where you are located but it shouldn't be more then $4 a coil

  6. This was all very helpful! Thank you for elaborating on the issue! Now I know what to do to fix any leakage in case it happens!

  7. I have noticed this to be very true. I have also noticed that the larger the tank, the sooner letting it sit below say half full will cause it to start leaking. My Subtank Plus will start leaking if I let it sit overnight half full, where as the subtank mini will sit for a full day or longer before any issue arises. I remove my tanks and sit them upside down on the drip tip at night or when I change tanks.

You can find them on sale, but expect anywhere from $4-8 each to be an average price, depending on the brand and where you buy them from. I've bought most of my batteries online, but I also picked up several LG HE2 from my local pharmacy (in the medical supplies section - they are commonly used in C-pap devices and other things that require battery back-ups or portability). When I find them on sale for $8-12 per pair, I try to stock up a few extra pairs... at least once per year. Their life-span is measured in charging cycles, not years, so expect most every (quality) battery you buy to last 300 cycles, minimum, before they begin to show longer charge-times and begin to hold less and less charge. Many of the newer batteries boast 500-1000+ cycles, but they've not been out long enough for anyone to have proven they last 2-4 years of daily use, lol. Be wary of buying batteries from eBay, or overseas online stores. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Batteries are a huge target for knock-offs or re-wrapped crap. Sony batteries (for a while) were the worst... for every 10 you'd buy, at least half would be clones/re-wraps/knock-offs. The batteries sold by the VT store are guaranteed to be authentic. As mentioned above, always label your batteries so you know when you bought it, as well as a letter or number so you can maintain rotation. All of mine get a date of purchase and a letter-code so I know which one to use next. If you use a mod that require 2 or 3 batteries, they should always ... always... be kept married, and rotated inside the device. For those, I label them with a letter for the married sets, and two numbers.... first number tells me it is a 2 or 3 battery set, and second number tells me the order... A31, A32, A33, B21, B22, etc. (you'll never find a B34 or X23) so I can keep the A's together, B's together, and rotate their position inside the device after each re-charge cycle.

    Baby Beast Help Please

Leakage is actually an issue that can arise with any tank, not just the "Beast" line. Atmospheric conditions, drastic altitude changes, VG/PG ratio, coil priming method...all of these can lead to leaking. I have Baby Beasts and Cloud Beasts in my daily rotation and, with the exception of the occasional extra warm day or trip to the mountains, I don't have any leaking issues with any of my tanks. They both have their advantages and disadvantages over each other. The Cloud Beast has a larger capacity, but the Baby Beast is slightly more convenient due to its more compact size. They are both workhorses and I really wouldn't rate one better than the other.

  12. OMG! I am literally laughing out loud all by myself. The cats seem to think Dad has gone south. I'm more than happy to return the favor! BTW, to qualify that, all the money you helped me spend has been well spent.

  13. Give me a minute to pick my jaw up from the floor. It immediately dropped upon learning @Tamis pulling the trigger on a Baby Beast. The only coils I've used are the T8 (.15 ohm) and the Q2 (.4 ohm version that comes pre-installed). Both coils provide a nice balance between flavor and vapor. The T8 coil has a slightly tighter draw than the Q2 and as a result, it is easier to mimic the MTL style you prefer. And yes, even though it is a sub ohm tank and is meant for DTL hits, it is possible to MTL with this tank.

Number one... did they also give you a battery? If so, what brand/model is it? If they didn't give you one, I would suggest you buying a pair (at least) of Samsung 25R (green), LG HE2 (red), or any of the other "good" batteries out there from Samsung, LG, or Sony. There are other good ones, but those are the ones I trust. As for tanks, a perfect starter, that will grow with you will be the Kanger Subtank Mini or Toptank mini... they're the same tank, but the top-tank can be refilled without removing it from the box-mod
