They both appear to be kanthal coils so generally you'll vape with slightly higher wattage on the .3. The .3 will go through juice quicker. Your battery will run down noticeably faster on the .3. You should get more vapor on the .3. As for taste? That's pretty subjective.

First, I moved this thread from "Coils" to "Wick and Wire". Second, are you re-wicking factory coils or is there an RBA deck for the Mini Helmet I'm not aware of? Re-building and re-wicking factory coils can be tricky. It isn't impossible, but the odds of having a very different experience from a re-built and/or re-wicked factory drop-in coil vs. a brand new coil are very high.

When i bought my kanger sub tank minis some 2 years ago they came with RBA decks which I use almost exclusively. Shortly after that I bought about 4 or 5 back up decks. I'm still using the originals and they are going strong. But all the original materials are still available today. I don't think there's much risk with name brand popular devices. If the whole thing collapsed tomorrow I'd still be able to vape for years to come!

Not necessarily. I have a couple of small tanks that I use lower resistance coils in around the house to get clouds. In my Mello III (Mazi, I guess, as apposed to mini) I like using the .5ohm coil as I take it out and about and enjoy using less liquid and less battery life. I still get good taste using the .5. I find each coil/tank combination has a "best use". Having said that, I also blew a cloud into the bottom of my drummers kit from a .25ohm coil. Great fun. He though is sound module had went up in flames. Watching him try to fan it off was a hoot!

My recommendation - try them both. Run at least a full tank with each coil, then decide which you like better. Preferences vary from person to person and opinions on which coil to use are, for the most part, purely subjective. If it was me, I would run the .3 ohm because I am not necessarily worried about battery life or liquid consumption so it is closer to my personal vaping style. @Bebop, on the other hand, might prefer the .5 ohm specifically because it will cut down on the amount of liquid consumed and slightly extend battery life. Either of the coils should give you a good vape experience, though.

Hi, I just started rewicking my own coils. I am using japanese cotton from Master of Clouds. But although my coil is working I am getting a funny taste from it. Is this normal? Will it go away after so many vapes from the device? I am rewicking my smok vape pen 22 and smok sub ohm 40 mini helmet. I got them working it just tastes bad. Not real bad. It tastes kind of like hair, not burnt hair. Just like sucking on regular hair. Is this from the cotton I am using? Is anyone else using this cotton from master of Clouds? And are you getting this taste from it. It's not the wire because right now I am using the same coil wire that was on it. They still look good and I just burn any stuff off of it to clean it. Any advise? TY

I agree with adversarious1. You mention "burning off stuff to clean it". Dry burning is tricky. If you aren't absolutely careful with it and you don't clean the coil (or aren't able to clean it thoroughly after dry burning) it always gives a funky taste. You have to get rid of any residue at all, which is hard to do. I've done dry burning very lightly in a pinch, but I don't recommend it and I only do it once on a coil. Nothing beats fresh wire and cotton. If your just replacing cotton in a used coil, you are likely getting that residue on the fresh cotton and that is what you are tasting.

I agree with Cany, some cotton does have a break in period. If that doesnt work switch to a new cotton. I personally use koh gen do japanese cotton, which you can get a 100ct bag on amazon for like $4 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

It might just have to "break in" If it doesent go away after a but I would change up to a new cotton

He was thrilled with the records!! now rta talk, Geek vape came out with the griffin 25 plus, he sent me a link to the review ,and a link to the tank....they have stainless in top flow!! He found it because it looked easier to build and wick than the original griffin. I watched the review and it certainly does, I can't wait to get it!! He told me yesterday he wanted to be with me long term.I do too!! we really enjoy being together, and for the first time in my life ,I don't really have to try, everything just kind of clicks into place on it's own.
