Where I live a lot of people have CCW, it varies in Oregon depending on what county you live in, in the county I live in if you pass a background check, and know which end the bullet comes out of, and go to their class you can get a permit. But most people don't bother with it because open carry is legal here. But its a different story in Portland, and other populated areas in the state where open carry is not legal. Its very common here to see a pickup with a rifle in a rack in the back window. Sometimes you even see a handgun on the dash, but not very often.4 points

CA, NY, NJ... and the rest of the 2nd Amendment-oppressed states find it hard to believe the rest of us have 2A "freedom"... without blood running in the streets, lol. In KY, you take an 8-hour course on the laws and responsibility, and then pass a shooting/proficiency test... Then you are ran through a background check by the State Police and FBI... pay $60 and you have your Conceal Carry Deadly Weapon (CCDW) license within 30 days. Background check and renewal every 5-years. Open carry in KY is legal for all citizens over 21 (handgun) or 18 (long gun). Several other states don't even require a permit for CCDW, and KY has legislation pending for moving to this model for state-residents, but you still have to get a permit for reciprocity in other states. Sadly... this is why I refuse to go to the left-coast or most of New England (outside of business requirements)... If you don't honor my right to carry, then you don't deserve my tourism dollars3 points -

Yeah, CA is pretty harsh, and it is sad that you have to know someone to get through the system... It is worse in NYC, where you pay $475 just for the application, only to get denied 99% of the time... unless you are a celebrity or have political connections. I support and encourage everyone to carry if they so choose, as long as they do so responsibly and getting some advanced training is always a GOOD idea! As for "panic at the site of a butter knife"... Well, that is the whole purpose of conceal-carry... nobody knows you have it but you!2 points -
On either coast a firearm will have people sitting in corners playing with yoyos and petting ponies. Anywhere in the center states you're pretty much ok.2 points

The FDA updates Compliance Policies for Local Vape Shops
spydre reacted to Christopher for a topic
Hi Folks, The FDA has made some policies changes that affect local brick and mortar stores. Previously, retail associates were unable to assist customer in just about any way shape or form due to PTMA guidelines. Naturally, when a customer comes in with a problem and the associate is unable to help, it creates a dangerous situation. (For example, if a customer comes in stating their mod is warm, obviously a battery issue may need addressed asap) Previously, many vape retailers interpreted the regulations as being such that they could not perform services including changing coils, assembling a device and discussing how it functions, along with performing simple repairs and general troubleshooting. The FDA has made some updates - Without qualifying a vape shop as a tobacco manufacturer, staff can explain how to use a store product, employees can clean and perform maintenance on a purchased product, they can replace coils with new and identical ones, and they can assemble a product for the customer from the components packaged with the device. The FDA Is now also allows retail associates to assist customer in refilling their tanks so long as no modifications are made outside of what is recommended by the product's manufacture. For more details see following PDF document HERE1 point -

That's great. Though I haven't attempted to apply for a CCW as of yet, I've heard around here it's almost next to impossible. I've got a few contacts in the lodge that mentioned they could push one through but given the ridiculous laws in California and the fact that some people hear panic at even the site of a butter knife, I've been hesitant.1 point -

Genuinely curious, (totally derailing the topic here) how did you manage a CCW in this county?1 point -

Took me a couple of seconds to figure out what a 'watzit" bottle is. I like that description better than unicorn bottles.1 point -
Any flavor that you think you might enjoy will work for your set up. The level of PG and VG in your juice should really be no higher than 60 VG/40 PG, in my opinion, so that the juice is not too thick for your wick to soak up. Keep in mind that the darker, sweeter juices will gunk up a coil faster so you'll need to change it more often. Since you're trying to get off the analogs (cigarettes), at two weeks in, I would think that going down to 0 nic so soon will not keep you off the cigs. Most people need to start at a higher nic, vape that for several weeks (if not months), before lowering the level a little at a time. I started at 24 mg of nic when I picked up vaping with a set up much like what you're using (Spinner and T3S -- I still use my Spinners and Kanger Protank 3 mini for back ups). That got me off the cigs. Six months later I dropped down to 12 mg (18 mg wasn't available then). Vaped that for a year or longer before dropping down to 6 mg. If you drop to 0 too fast, chances are pretty good that it's going to be extremely hard to put down the last few cigs a day. This is just my experience.1 point
